@eleven_ I'm all for folks getting to the gym and being healthy, but I think the pricing can be scammy and I also think more women should be comfortable with weight lifting rather than being stigmatized as too masculine. as you can tell, I have a lot of feelings about it.

@chichiphin I agree about the pricing of Orange Theory. I was thinking of signing up because my friends rave about it, but I was shocked by the prices. My gym has a barre class that I was thinking of going to. I love weight lifting and LOVE when women are ripped. I'm just trying to mix-it-up because all I want to do is weight lift and yoga.

@eleven_ oh I totally get that. I think the "cultish" thing weirds me out. Its almost on par with pilates/reformer. There is this exclusive aura around it and it is outrageously overpriced... and you can get in shape other ways.

@lulu1180 @literatureandink I was more referring to pubic area manscaping. Most else falls under general grooming, to me.

@chichiphin I agree about the culture and stigma of women not doing weights, etc. However, if someone can pay those prices & enjoys those classes, all the power to them for getting off the couch more regularly then I likely do so.

@chichiphin & @eleven_ I haven't heard of Orange Theory - is it a gym? Also, I'm OBSESSED with barre but I had to stop taking classes at a barre studio because for one month it was $189! And if you knew you wouldn't be able to use the whole month, there was no way to put your membership on hold or anything. AND they stopped giving free water out of a bubbler and instead you had to pay for using their bubbler.

@literatureandink orange theory is basically interval training. lots of cardio work. and also incredibly expensive. Paying for use of a water fountain is a new one for me though... that's extreme

Feeling real grateful for my $20 a month gym membership RN, ha. 

I have friends who love OT and Barre, but yeah, it's hard for me to come to terms with the pricing.

I used to love IG for the filters, but those went out fast. Then I used it for the collages which almost no one does anymore. Now I mainly use it for the stories.

I don't get IG stories.  Why wouldn't you just put that in a regular post?

@coco2787 People put all the boring stuff in a story that they wouldn't want to make a whole post about. Like food pictures and randomness that doesn't need to be there for all of posterity.

@marebear15 Then why post it at all? I get annoyed when people add 15 things of the same event/food/etc to stories.  Except cats. And chickens. And sometimes puppies

I love watching IG stories! I watch them as I drink my coffee every morning. I follow some really funny people and their stories are the best! If you don't follow Arielle, GO FOLLOW HER RIGHT NOW!

I recently became a certified personal trainer and the "myths" and such about fitness is amazing.  Weights are the best form of exercise for women to burn fat!  Using lighter weights so you "won't bulk up" is ridiculous.  Grab those big weights and lift!!!  I always feel the best after a heavy lifting session.  
Orange Theory has a lot of success stories but I agree with the cult feeling and the price is insane to me!!!  You can do so much at home with no equipment for free!
