@Jens_Hoes I was due late May last time too. I wasn’t the last to deliver but near the tail end of the month. I wasn’t impatient like this last time — when I was a FTM I really appreciated getting a heads up on what was coming, and was probably less nervous about everything because I felt like I knew what to expect.
But now it feels hard to wait. In fairness, that impatience mayyy be partly because I have a four year old who heaves these enormous sighs every day and says dramatically “It takes soooooo long for my baby sister to be born!”
@hoosiermama-2 I love how baby showed off his hand and foot so nicely!
@Katzalia I don't have any kiddos, but my neighbor (7 yo girl) asked how many more days until baby would be born. I told her to check back in with me after Thanksgiving and she heaved a sigh and said "your baby is so sloooooowwwww" lol
Had my AS yesterday! It was so much fun. My SO and MIL came with me. Everything looked healthy in there!
She said he's measuring a week ahead of EDD, but that measurement is mainly taken from the legs (idk?) ... My SO has long legs so I'm assuming my LO is just growing normally with long legs haha!
My SO asked the doctor to measure my little one's "little one"
Hold on to your hats! We are having a little girl! DH wants a gun safe (we are in Canada, guns are not common, lol).
Unfortunately, baby girl has a cleft lip and palate, so we will have to deal with that.. thankfully surgeries/treatment for those things are pretty good now and everything will be covered by our healthcare system..
Yay for everyone's good news @texas_t@Katzalia@Jens_Hoes@hoosiermama-2 and @countrygirl624 ! (Hope I didn't miss anyone!) @countrygirl624 So glad your little girl had a strong heartbeat and you're feeling great about everything! Best of luck with your further testing! I also know a little girl who measured behind the whole time (like 9-10%) and was born to our good friends perfectly healthy and is now a very feisty 4 year old!
@ab_canada Congratulations! I am glad you will be able to provide the care she will need. Thankfully, as you said, with technology now, that should be easily treated.
@ab_canada Congrats on your girl! Sorry she'll have to deal with a surgery, but so glad it'll all be covered and should be a straightforward procedure!
@texas_t@katy0990@maureenmce Thanks ladies. It was a bit of a shock, but I'm glad there doesn't appear to be any other issue. We are scheduled for a more detailed ultrasound on Tuesday morning, where they will be able to tell us more..
@ab_canada I’m sorry you got the unexpected news and your baby girl will need surgery — but glad it is something readily treatable and your have a great healthcare system. Good luck with your next ultrasound on Tuesday.
@Katzalia@PensiveCrayon Thanks ladies! I can't wait to start making little girl dresses and now I definitely want that white crib with rose sheets DH won't know what hit him with all the extra estrogen in the house (even our dog is female and is definitely a princess).
@ab_canada I’m so sorry your daughter will have to have surgeries. A girl in my last bmb found out at the20 week scan that her son had a cleft lip. I can ask her if she can reach out to you if you’d like. Her son has had surgery since birth. If not, no worries, but just wanted to throw that out there.
@Jens_Hoes Sure, that would be great. I was able to find another parent on Reddit and it has been helpful to have someone to talk to. I will direct message you my email.
