Re: Symptoms - Week of 7/1

  • @bdesterhouse That will be interesting to see. My skin, for the first time in my life, was clear of pimples when I was pregnant with DD. I loved my pregnancy skin and hair.
  • I did too with my son. Right now I hate my face bc it’s broken out so bad.

We have two sleeping beauties in heaven.
Jack gained his wings on 09/02/2016.
Kali gained her wings on 07/28/2015.
They will be forever missed. <3

  • Anyone else have an achy pelvis? It’s like an on and off ache in my bones down there. I do not remember this with my first pregnancy in the early weeks.

@char245 and @indigoheightsblog I’m with you on the anxiety! It almost is giving me the shakes and making it hard for me to sleep at night!
  • Feeling super tired, but that could be a combination of pregnancy and cutting back so much on caffeine this week too.  Also sore boobs, bloated, and mild cramping.  I did start feeling a little nauseous yesterday and have much less of an appetite.  I'll be 5 weeks on Saturday so it seems like symptoms are hitting me much earlier than they did with my son.  I didn't feel nauseous with him until my 7th or 8th week!

  • @ashley14598 My hips hurt a little but my siatic is already hurting which scares me. Not looking forward to what it will feel like at 9 months. It didn’t start hurting till third try with DD.
  • 5w2d here. I’ve had terrible lower back pain which had me worried but reading that some of y’all are going through it makes me feel better. I was also supsicious to have nausea as early as week 4, wondering if it was a sign of multiples (I’m a twin and they run in my family), but it also seems like many of you are having that too! Other than that, exhausted and hungrier than normal. Starting to feel more irritable too!
  • I have not stopped eating all day. And still feel like I could eat more. So different than first time.
  • @indigoheightsblog Right there with you on the anxiety! I’m normally anxious and pregnancy has ramped that up! Always worried about this little one!
  • @indigoheightsblog Right there with you on the anxiety! I’m normally anxious and pregnancy has ramped that up! Always worried about this little one!
  • I don’t remember being like this the first time, but I am so irratable! Little things are making me crazy... They had the nerve to put cinnamon in my ginger tea, my 2 year old is pushing all my buttons, and if my husband leaves one more dish in the sink instead of the dishwasher I am going to lose my shit...

  • Heartburn is through the roof. Insomnia. Oh how I didn’t miss you. The congestion. Exhaustion. Hot and cold flashes. Bit of nausea when I eat. Moody.

    Pregnancy is beautiful

  • Stupid increased discharge. I just ran to the bathroom to check it out because I was so freaked out. I completely blocked this symptom out of my head from my first pregnancy.

In other news, I cried at the parade yesterday and I dry heaved/coughed cooking DS’s breakfast this morning (just pancakes)... then again in the car... and again at a morning meeting. And I already have indigestion. I went on reflux meds around 18w last time so I’m assuming it’ll happen again. ... good thing babies smell so good and look so beautiful.
  • All the NAUSEA.  UGH.
  • @christac1010 I don't remember the discharge from last time but OMG it's out of control over here. Between checking on that and actually peeing I'm spending so much time in the bathroom.
  • I am irritable AF.  Like a total rage monster.
  • So much fatigue - I have literally taken a minimum of 1 nap every day this week (last Saturday I think I took 4 naps !!) super sensitive sense of smell - I got mad that my neighbors were using lighter fluid to grill yesterday and it made me gag when I was walking our pup! So also mood swings, I guess. Some mornings I feel queasy but I wouldn't call it full on nausea yet, and my boobs are swollen and tender!! Trying to embrace it all because I know it is just the beginning of the ride!
  • @kerco925 I’m with you. With DD I was so calm and cool. This time every turn I’m like I’m gunna cut a biatch watch out!

  • I’m absolutely miserable today. Problem is I don’t know if it’s morning sickness or DD’s stomach bug or both. DH woke up vomiting too. Regardless DD and I are going on day three of Netflix and couch bum and mentally it’s killing me.
  • I had lower back pains even before I knew I was pregnant.  They were there for the first week, but have subsided.  I've been bloated since ovulation/conception, but seems a little better now/today.  I had really creamy CM which is now dry.  I broke out a little before I would've gotten my period, but got only a couple zits, luckily, and no more since.  I have been more sensitive to smell.  Sore boobs which felt like they grew a bit immediately, and they are still mildly painful.  Minor cramping that comes and goes, a dull pain, and some little pulling twinges, and occasional spotting.  First, I got just a very light pink dot just one time, and then occasional brown spotting, no more than the size of a quarter in one day, and mostly just on the days I exercise, which I read is perfectly normal and OK.

This morning, the strangest thing (to me) happened.  I lifted something very light that I've done a dozen times - putting the dog door insert into the sliding patio door, and when I lifted it, my middle back (both sides) hurt like hell!!  I was so surprised when it happened, and I completely contribute it to pregnancy.  I'm going to look it up in a little bit to confirm I'm not crazy.  It's still hurting, and I need to take the Tylenol I have laying on my desk in front of me.
  • I’m so sorry, @JLaVO888!  Being that sick for any reason is the worst.

@ashley14598 I have weird pelvic pains, too.  I’m trying not to worry about it but it’s hard.

  • @ashley14598 I have been feeling pressure and an overall achy feeling in my pelvis bone and bottom since a week before I tested. My hips are so tight and everything down there is raw - I did not think I would feel this way till way later.
  • hey everyone, glad to hear you’re all just as miserable as me
  • @mill1020 and @itzmejazzybear some of that pelvic achiness has gone away in the last day or 2. Im glad to hear that it’s somewhat common though. I did take a Tylenol and seemed to help mine. Hopefully yours will subside some soon too.
  • @ashley14598 I am very nervous about taking any medicines (especially so early in the game). Would this be something I should get approval from a doctor - or is Tylenol pretty safe across the board?
  • Tylenol is pretty much one of the only safe things for pain relief. I also don’t like to use many meds so I use it as a last resort but any doctor will approve the use of Tylenol.
  • @JLaVO888 I appreciate the feedback. It came at perfect timing - dealing with a splitting headache...starting to turn in to a migraine.

During my first pregnancy my midwife told me that Tylenol was basically the only thing I could take without a rx. But since that time there have been a handful of studies that link Tylenol during pregnancy to behavioral and medical issues in kids. So please do your research, ask your doc, and decide if you are comfortable taking it.

FWIW, I am a scientist, and I don’t think the studies are particularly strong scientifically, but they do raise a concern.

  • @itzmejazzybear @JLaVO888 @maggiemadeit I agree with what everyone says! I try hard to limit medications at all costs as well (anytime but especially in pregnancy). Tylenol is safe during pregnancy according to my midwife and the doctors at her office. However I agree on definitely doing your own research and doing what is comfortable for you, your body, your baby, and your family. I also read reports about behavior issues in children from mothers who took Tylenol in pregnancy as well. But I always take studies like that with a “grain of salt” because pregnancy and child have so many factors.
  • @itzmejazzybear One other suggestion I will make for you as far as migranes go is drinking just a sip or two of caffeine. I know its not encouraged during pregnancy and some avoid it completely. But, it was the only relief I could get from my migraines. I usually would only need about half of one of those small bottles of Pepsi and it would do wonders. Only do what you are comfortable with, but DD turned out completely healthy.
  • @ashley14598 I appreaciate all the info. We haven’t told anyone yet and it’s very nice to have others to bounce these things off of. Since I’ve never actually taken Tylenol in my life I’ve decided to not take it. Found some other ways to relieve some pain. @JLaVO888 I convinced by hubby to pick up some dark chocolate chips and that totally did the trick. Who would have thought caffeine would make such a difference?
  • Hi ladies! I’m really struggling over here and need some positivity. I am so over emotional right now & can’t seem to reel it in. Is anyone else having extreme emotions? A friend of mine unexpectedly passed away on Friday and since then I have been just in a super funk. Occasionally I will get upset about that, but it’s even the smallest thing that can bring tears to my eyes. Idk what’s going on here or how to level these emotions out...any suggestions?
  • @itzmejazzybear I’m so glad you found something that helps! It definitely is nice to know that others are struggling with the same kind of symptoms for me as well!

@cdub4292 I’m so sorry to hear about your friend, that has to be so difficult. For me personally I have been very (irrationally) emotional this pregnancy so far (last time as well). It’s actually the first symptom that made me think maybe I needed to take a pregnancy test. I threw an irrational fit about my sons haircut. I totally lost it, sobbing on the kitchen floor type of lost it. Tonight I lost it over undercover boss it was a documentary that Gabby Douglas was involved in. Give yourself some grace and know that your hormones are on overdrive right now. You have a lot of reasons to have real feelings right now between trying to grasp the idea of a new baby in your family and dealing with the loss of your friend. That is a lot for anyone. Sorry I don’t have more advice but hopefully it helps you feel like you aren’t alone.
  • @ashley14598 thank you so much. I feel better about things knowing I’m not the only one. You’re right, it’s a lot of changes in a short period of time. It’s a new day, going to try to be less emotional.
