Anybody else measuring much further behind? *tw: miscarriage*

I should be 6 weeks 5 days so I went in for an ultrasound today to check viability(two previous miscarriages). The ultrasound put me at 5w2d and all they could see was the gestational sac. My midwife said I have to wait two weeks to get another to determine viability. I’m trying to not freak out but I’ve been feeling like something was off for over a week, I don’t really have any symptoms.

I haven't gone in for an ultrasound yet still have to confirm my pregnancy but try not to worry.  Maybe you miscalculated your LMP I didn't have symptoms with my son until the 2nd trimester and am 6 weeks and have none at the moment either.  Goodluck

Hey there @lizztheo I am sorry to hear that you are concerned after today’s appointment. Hoping you get some relief at your next appt.

Just wanted to point out that there are discussions organized by topics and your post could have gone under the appointment thread! With some of the recent moms on here that had to leave after their recent appts, while your discussion name includes a “tw,” it may still trigger some who check in from time to time.

I’m glad you posted separately. Your post may have been lost in all of the other updates, and now I know to keep you in my thoughts. Waiting is the worst!

Im measuring a couple days behind, but I’m definitely not letting it worry me. If you’re indeed measuring 5w it could be why you’re not feeling any symptoms.

@CurlyGirlyGirl The board has topical threads for a reason. If everyone posts standalone threads about their individual concern, the board will be a cluttered disaster and it is much more likely that individual questions / concerns will be lost in the shuffle. 

That said, OP, sorry you're going through this. If your expected measurement is only based on LMP, however, you could easily have ovulated later than you think. Hopefully you will see good progress at your next appointment.

I agree that this doesn't need its own thread,  but that's besides the point. 

were you tracking your ovulation and temping? By measuring behind are you just basing that off your LMP. These things make a difference in terms of how you are measuring. My dr told me if I came in at 5 weeks they'd barely be able to see a yolk sac and scheduled me for a little past six weeks to see a fetal pole.  When I went in I was measuring behind "technically" but because I was temping and tracking I was actually right on point.

I think you will actually find that most one - shot threads will have someone point out the related topical threads under which a post could have been shared. The only one-person topic threads that are encouraged are goodbye posts, because those are special, tragic circumstances. 

This board is still new, so people are generally still quite polite about pointing out the appropriate topic thread, despite the pinned READ THIS FIRST thread that lays all of this out in detail. 

Finally, TB is an established community with policies and community-established norms. Newcomers are welcome, but these norms exist to help integrate newcomers and keep the boards from devolving into chaos.  You mentioned in your intro that you are brand new to online message boards, so maybe hang around awhile and see for yourself why these norms exist before pushing for an entire community to change the way things are done.

That's ridiculous for so many reasons. 

First off It's been hours since OP posted this thread and hasn't come back once to engage or thank anyone for responding

Second this person most likely did zero tracking of their cycle. 

Third these posts including the other drive bys are annoying AF because the OP almost never comes back,  then they keep getting bumped for days while "helpful" ladies respond to the ghost which just clogs the board.  It's rude and selfish.

I’ve been on the Bump/nest/knot/gbcn for quite a while. I totally get the need for norms, but also hope that if I posted a sensitive topic even within the proper thread, that it would be met with sensitivity.

... which is why we answered her question, then pointed her to the thread where those questions belong for future reference. You act like we kicked her puppy or something. 

Also, your account being 9 years old doesn't mean much when you have essentially zero post history.  You know we can see how active you have(n't) been on TB, right?

And I’m definitely not the only person that changed usernames, but thanks for caring enough to search my history so you could tell me how inactive I am, lol. Wish I had that much time on my hands.

Wow I’m sorry, I didn’t realize that posting in the wrong place would get so out of hand. I’ll make sure to check and see which thread I should be posting under next time. 

Thank you all for your input and thoughts. I didn’t even come back to check after I read that I posted in the wrong place. I tried to delete but couldn’t figure out how so I thought the post would just drop off on it’s own.
