Not a huge hotdogs fan but occasionally I'll eat them two ways: 1. Plain in a bun when steaming hot like at a Baseball game 2. Chili cheese dogs are an occasional no pregnancy craving ha.
I do like chili cheese dogs, especially the ones from Sonic. However, I am with @josie12367.... give me cheese, mustard and sauerkraut. If I can't get the kraut, I love DILL relish, too... none of that sweet stuff.
@copperboom86 that is not a nice gif right now. Haha. Ugh.
But...I like Miracle Whip. I WISH I didn't since it's full of junk but hey.
I like hotdogs a lot. We were just talking about getting dogs for dinner and realized we don't have a good hotdog place nearby. I think part of my love is the nostalgia of being outside at the ballpark or campfire.
DH would die reading this because he truly believes there is nothing worse than ketchup on a hot dog. We are mustard people and he will also add relish.

Ketchup, Mustard, Onion (occasionally chili and cheese if I am feeling crazy)
My friend explained how I couldn't eat hotdogs while pregnant the other day.. I am a person who does pay attention to details and I follow the rules 99% of the time. I figure if the worst thing I do during pregnancy is have a hot dog or ham sandwich (maybe even with a small glass of coca cola I think it will be okay. And I cannot give up hotdogs during camping season!
ketchup and relish--if cheese sauce is an option, then i won't turn it down! DH is from Chicago, and we are big fans of Superdawg if we're in the area.

My doctor told me with my first pregnancy as long as I wasn't eating hotdogs and sandwich meat CONSTANTLY there's not a problem. She said she didn't understand why people put these crazy lists together to freak out everyone!
I love ketchup and dill pickle relish on my dogs... Or chili and cheese....
@bswishe4 As others have pointed out it’s fine to eat hot dogs freshly cooked/heated. I think if you eat them often it might be worth getting nitrate free/organic/uncured but if it’s a once in a while thing I wouldn’t worry too much about it
We don't eat hot dogs often, but we do a ton of Italian Sausage or Chicken Sausage styled as a hot dog. I top with onions, mustard and ketchup. SO good! If we are at a baseball game, I'm team ketchup and onions.
I just want to say that this thread alone makes me very hopeful for the longevity of this board and the online friendships of Nov 2018 mama’s! You guys are hilarious! Please can we keep doing light hearted threads like this throughout?
I eat gluten free now and it’s hard to find a good gluten free bun but back when I ate hotdogs I just liked mustard - plain and simple!
Ya'll eat some fancy hot dogs. I've never had a Chicago style hot dog but I'm super curious! DH puts ketchup, mustard, and sweet relish on his. Sometimes also mayo. I personally like either chili cheese or plain mustard. I love a grilled hot dog. Or the extra long coney at Sonic (@highsteaks ALWAYS the extra long ). Lord almighty.
All this hotdog talk really makes me want one. But it has to be a campfire hotdog... maybe I'll ask H set up the firepit this weekend so we can make some for dinner (all I'll have to do it mention hotdogs and I know he'll be game).

Apparently we're all now craving hot dogs. Haha. I just had a bratwurst for lunch. And I realized too late that we don't have mustard at home so it was only ketchup and jalapenos on it.
Also, about how people like their hot dogs cooked... We don't ever boil or heat them in the microwave. We grill them and if we can't do that then we heat them on the stove top on a frying pan.

I can stand boiled if it's a natural casing hotdog. Otherwise grilled or over an open flame is NECESSARY! Microwave hotdogs =

Yea boiled hotdogs are gross. Grilled or cooked in a frying pan. I don’t particularly love hotdogs, but if I eat one it’s with only ketchup. But I also like to put hot dogs in my Mac and cheese. I grew up eating that. Is that weird?
@pink_polkadots I grew up eating hotdogs in mac n cheese too

@pink_polkadots I grew up doing that too! My mom would cut up the hot dog, cook it in a pan with bbq sauce then eat mac n cheese with it. Confession...I still eat it like that haha
Had a brat for dinner tonight. It's was NOT as satisfying as a good hotdog would have been.
