GTKY: Whats your worst bug related story?
When I was in Africa, a dung beetle flew up and bit my shoulder blade. Not only did it hurt like heck, but it got extremely infected. Since I was living in a village I really didn't have a way to clean it and bandage it properly. When I was flying back to college, I couldn't sit against the plane seat because it hurt so badly. It took about four weeks for it to stop pussing and heal.

GTKY: Whats your worst bug related story?
    I have two

1.I was in the car one time and I heard the loudest buzzing I'd ever heard in my life in my ear and I felt the wings on my face and this mystery bug got into my hair.  I threw my car in park and cried because this thing was gigantic.  It was this big black and orange scary looking bug. I thought it had left my car and then I heard the buzzing again.  I got out again and sobbed.  I thought maybe it had  flown away so after 15 minutes with the doors and windows open I got back in the car.  When I got home I researched what I had seen and it was a turantula hawk

My second story. I was in second grade and playing in my friend's back yard when I picked up a hornets nest.  I was immediately swarmed by them. Stung 50 times. I had to take an ice bath.  My mom found stingers in my hair for weeks.

R/R: Rant- I'm ridiculously upset that I haven't gotten a positive OPK even though the earliest I've ever gotten one was CD14. I need to chill. Rave Owner of the company introduced me to the owner of another local company and was telling her how awesome I am. It's great to hear since I've been there almost a year and it's not an industry I've ever really worked.

CS/Q: sharing simply because I love the pattern. I'm an odd duck *shrug*

GTKY: Whats your worst bug related story? I'm terrified of spiders. Logically, I know they won't do much (if anything) to me but I can't control my reactions to them. So, in HS, a jumping spider came out of absolutely no where and caused me to hyperventilate and black out. A friend had to drag me to the other side of the cafeteria. During lunch period. In front of everyone, including my ex who had just cheated on and broke up with me. It was great.

    @babydream0916 I didn't know they bit! That's crazy.

Living in Florida we got these giant roaches/palmetto bugs. One time there was one in my silverware drawer. I freak out, pull out all my silverware and run it through the dishwasher, go hunting for this bug and can't find it. Why my silverware and none of the food cabinets, idk. I finally give up after almost a week of using the dishwasher as a silverware drawer and no bug sightings, I put all my silverware back. THE NEXT TIME I open that drawer, it's back. I finally found it's hiding place and got it with the vacuum cleaner. That's my go-to move now when dealing with any roaches.

R/R: rant- our dog has gained 19 pounds in the past year for no reason that we can tell.  Bloodwork came back fine.  Gravity feeders were taken away a year ago, vet had us switch treats to baby carrots and substitute half his food with green beans.  I take him running but he can’t last long.  He’s only 3 and is a lab mix.  I’m at a loss for what I can do for him.  He’s gained a pound since Tuesday.

    CS/Q:  nothing to see yet

GTKY: Whats your worst bug related story?  I avoid any bug at any cost.  My bio dad let me watch Arachnophobia at age 4 and I’ve been terrified ever since.

@galactickates and @babydream0916 those stories are terrifying.  I’m not sure I would have ever driven a car again had that happened to me @galactickates.

R/R: Stupid Ipod power button is broke and won`t turn off. Googled how to fix but it looks like I have to take it in or buy a new one which I`ve been holding off doing.

    CS/Q: nope

GTKY: Whats your worst bug related story? I worked at a lodge one summer that ended up infested with bedbugs. The manger tried to take care of the problem himself with no luck, so after 3 weeks he finally called an exterminator. The worst part about it was he wouldn`t just shut down and tell guests so I`m sure they took some home with them.

R/R: knew it was coming but still a little upset to be here. But I am going to try and take it easy this cycle and focus on getting healthy and losing some weight.

CS/Q: Nope although non ttc related question, finding podcasts are helping with the exercise as it takes my mind off it. Any suggestions for good ones?

GTKY: Whats your worst bug related story? I used.to live in this little sleepout when I was an intern and it was fairly basic at any rate when crickets werenarpund I would get barely any sleep because they would get in and hide under the fridge and it the bloody walls and I wouldn't be able to find them. Other bug that causes untold misery is mosquitoes

R/R: I am super intimidated by the fact that inputting anything like watery CM in FF makes it automatically signal that it's the fertile window. Like...what if I identify it wrong?? It seems kind of early and all. I don't want that kind of pressure on my own, non-educated evaluation! Have been trying to follow an EOD method for BDing, so hopefully we'll catch it whenever it is, but it just freaks me out now having the window turn green way early if I put that in there. Maybe I'm just not properly identifying and it's throwing it all off.

GTKY: Whats your worst bug related story? When I was a kid we had this canvas tent out in the yard on a wood-framed structure and for some reason it always attracted these massive crickets with ginormous stingers. I don't think they ever actually stung anyone, but they were incredibly ugly and freaked me out big time as a kid.

@babydream0916 - Where were you in Africa? Was it for a study abroad program? I lived in Namibia for a semester when I was college for a publishing internship. Probably another good bug story there was that I slept in this travel hostel one night and they didn't have good bug screens, so the shoulder I wasn't sleeping on was completely covered in mosquito bites. So much so that everyone I met for the next week or so kept asking me what terrible illness I had, and I'd have to sigh and explain that it was just tons of mosquitoes.

@Stargazer1lily - Bedbugs have to be the worst. Others are freaky, but, man, bedbugs. Hopefully you weren't in housekeeping having to deal with them directly!

R/R: no rants really.  rave - DH ended up getting today off, which works out really well since I think today is O day, so we'll at least get one day in this cycle since our original BD-ing and O estimate ended up being off.

    CS/Q: nothing super exciting

GTKY: Whats your worst bug related story?
I think I'd have to go with the time I was walking in the woods with DH, and something flew into my bra. I practically disrobed in the middle of the hiking trail flailing to get rid of it.

Tarantula hawks have the loudest buzzing. It seriously sounded like a machine and apparently on the pain scale of insect bites/stings its a 4.... the scale goes from 1 to 4 - 1 being the lowest 4 being the highest.

@auburnvelvet86 I was in Mozambique. In college I studied "Intercultural Studies".

@prpl11butterfly Yep, they sure do bite. Who knows what kind of gross diseases I was exposed to from that thing.... still makes me cringe to this day.

@lokibear89 what kind of podcasts are you looking for?
    -serial (true crime mystery)
-cocaine and rhinestones (great country music history lessons)
-savage love cast (great sex podcast)

@auburnvelvet86 i’m gunshy about putting W&EW for cm too, mostly because I’ll occasionally have a negligible amount of what I consider fertile cm. And your bugs sound like Jerusalem crickets.
    spoiler for ugly f-ing bug

@meggyme true crime sounds good. At the moment just listening to some sciencey ones like Brian cox's one.

Our dog’s bloodwork came back fine.  It doesn’t make sense though.  I don’t know that we can cut many more calories for him.

The podcasts I really enjoy are:

My favorite murderer - two girls tell eachother stories about murders which sounds really weird but it's really funny. The girls are super goofy and they have funny things they say. "F*ck politeness" "stay sexy and don't get murdered"

The joe Rogan podcast - he has on really awesome guests.  Some are comedians,  some are scientists,  some are in social sciences, it's totally random.

Arm Chair psychologist - Dax Shepherd's podcast.  He's had some big name celebs on.  It's just a good easy listen.
