GTKY: What's your favorite type of foreign food?
Re: WTO Mon 3/12
Month/Cycle: 12/12

WAYDTGKU: WFAFTL!
R/R: We had a very productive weekend and even though AF showed I still overall enjoyed it. We went around and looked at massive houses (some with basketball courts in them!) through the Parade of Homes. We’re not looking to buy but it was still fun to dream. We also got our taxes done!!! We’re getting a good chunk of change back so that encouraged me to pay off one of my student loans! The silver lining of still not being KU... we’re saving a ton of money. I also went ahead and messaged my OB to see what the next steps are, either start testing with her (in hopes to find a loophole with insurance) or go straight to an RE. We’ll see what she says.
I made the decision to tell a co-worker about our struggles with TTC this morning. Many of you know I work in a male dominated role, and I share an office with 4 men in their late 40’s and 50’s. The one I’m closest with we have very personal and philosophical conversations all the time. He knew we were going to start trying once I was done with my probation. I admitted to him that we had been trying for a year now. It feels really good to have someone at work know what we’re going through. I talked to him about my fears for asking off so frequently for future testing. He told me I don’t need to worry about that here, that it’s my life, and no one will even notice. I love my job and my work environment so much!

WAYDTGKU: Gonal-F, Ovidrel, IUI, Endometrin
R/R: Had a follie scan yesterday. The nurse who performed it did a crap job. Usually the ultrasounds don't bother me at all but she was swirling that wand around like she was trying to dig something out of me. Good lord. She said she only found one lead follicle otherwise didn't give me any information on the size or if there were others following or anything. Every time I tried to ask a question she'd shush me and say "Just a second" while squinting intensely at the screen. She wasn't one of the usual ultrasound techs and I got the impression she didn't quite know what she was doing. Awesome. Anyway, RE said I need to do 3 more days of Gonal-F at 125 per night. Christ, this is a lot of FSH. I've already taken 100 iu per night over 5 nights. I remember my last cycle I responded a lot faster, and generally when I respond slower the results aren't fabulous. Ugh. And now I have to order another $300 pen so that's more money down the toilet in the likely event that this cycle fails. But at least now I know before heading into IVF that I'm going to need higher doses of FSH to get enough eggs to make it worth my while. At this rate, though, I may not be able to afford IVF until next year. The meds alone will probably end up costing $1500-$2000. It's incredible how my AMH is over 8 but it takes this much medicine to get my ovaries to perk up. I thought PCOS gals were prone to over-responding. Blah. In any case, I have another ultrasound on Wednesday. Fingers crossed upping the dose a bit will get my girls to pop a couple more follicles so I have a better chance of this working.
ETA: GTKY - Indian food!!! ALL the palak paneer!
@LJMoon6 - Sorry about AF but I'm glad you had a nice weekend! Sometimes the RE's office will bill certain tests so they go through insurance. Ovulatory dysfunction is apparently a billable expense so initial consultations are covered (as are some tests) but otherwise I have to pay out of pocket. Sure is a bummer! Hopefully your OB will help you out though.

Rave - I got a positive OPK today! I told DH to prepare for go time when he gets home from work tonight.
CS/Q: my temp was extra-low this morning, I hope it's a pre-O dip.
GTKY: What's your favorite type of foreign food?
I am a big fan of both orange chicken and sesame chicken. I know they're really more Americanized versions of Chinese food, but yum!
@LJMoon6 sorry about AF, but that tour sounds fun! I can't imagine living in a house big enough to have a basketball court in it. I'm glad your coworker is being supportive!
@wishiwaspreggo ugh, sorry about the bad nurse. FX the meds work and the next ultrasound tech is better!
@wishiwaspreggo So sorry your ultrasound didn't go very well. I hate it when people don't know what they're doing and/or won't tell you anything about your own body. I've been through that somewhat (although not in the same circumstances) and it's very frustrating.

I love a lot of food but I'm going with Indian. Sadly there's only a few places near me and even they are 30+ minutes away. We need Indian take out! Pretty sure it's a thing in England. Someone needs to bring it here.

R/R: I am in a very determined mood. We had the 2nd week of Financial Peace University last night, and just getting our butts into gear, out of debt, and into savings really has me in thought. I am searching hard for a full time job, in addition to my part time job. I will keep both. My H is working his butt off at getting his promotion at work (That has been promised for over a year now). His income is pretty low right now, but he is so afraid of leaving and missing this opportunity and starting from scratch. So he plans on staying loyal and we just hope HR opens up the new sales positions that is needed. So, while he does that, I'll work 2 jobs. It's our only chance at living expenses and paying off debt as fast as possible. Time to stop being lazy and just skating by.
CS/Q: I hate that I had to miss yesterdays BBT. I like organized, and my slight OCD does not like the missing temp.
GTKY: What's your favorite type of foreign food? Pho! OMG I could eat Pho literally every single day. It is heaven in a bowl of broth and noodles. I haven't had it in a while, and now I am craving it so badly!

@ljmoon6 I’m so sorry for AF. The one year mark must be so hard. ((Big hugs)). I’m glad you felt like you were able to talk with your co-worker. I love having someone at work that knows what I am going through. It makes me feel less alone in my struggles. Yay for getting your taxes done! We still need to do ours.

@eleven_ - way to go on your bonus!!!! 8% is a nice little sum of money I bet you're thrilled! And I understand about the "competition" feel. ****TW - pregnancy/kids mentioned**** My best friend and W's best friend have already lapped us (my BF had her second last November and W's bestie is pregnant now with her second and we had our first before both of them so... we feel behind. Logically, of course, we understand that their family planning has nothing to do with ours but it still kind of stings. I'm already kind of worried about the age gap and I'm not even pregnant yet and only have a prayer of a chance at getting pregnant this cycle).
And fuck daylight savings time. Seriously. I hate it. I will feel jet-lagged for a whole week. And we don't even have the benefit of it being warm and spring-ish outside yet If it's going to be daylight longer it better be warmer, too, dammit. I'm so over it being 30-40 degrees and overcast. It's almost mid-March! Get it together, Indiana!

wishiwaspreggo Ugh.... I feel like ovaries are such a mystery.... they have an idea and your body just does whatever it wants. Hoping more follies pop up... In my IVF's Ive mostly stimmed slowly and it sucks, but it can work!

@wishiwaspreggo Sorry about your wand twirling ultrasound. That sounds awful. Hopefully you have a better lady and better news your next appointment. My insurance covers 80/20% for all testing and treatment, but caps out at 5k a year. I’m hoping my OB can do some tests and code it as general health or something similar. I’m not sure the insurance would be convinced it’s general health if a RE office ordered the test…
@fantasyflyte I love positive OPK day! The basketball court house was our favorite! Lol
@rosebud332 I usually am very open and honest with people, I’m surprised it took me this long to tell him lol. Indian food is so good! We have a take-out place by us but MH hates Indian so I don’t go there often.
@whitmore1027 Good for you for wanting to get a full time job! I’ve been thinking about getting a part time job for my 3 day weekends. Maybe just a serving job at a local restaurant… paying off one bill has given me the itch to pay off the rest. I don’t know if I could do it tho, basically have no time off ever… We’re usually really good with our money, we both have really well-paying jobs, and we bought a house below our means. It’s just a life goal of mine to be out of debt as soon as possible! I do really like my coworkers, even though they won’t be my best friends I still enjoy getting to know them more and more on a personal level.
@catlady2015 Mexican is still really good!!! My insurance covers testing and treatment but only so much. I’m hoping that if my OB doesn’t order the tests then maybe the RE office can still code it differently. It’s a long shot tho. I’ve talked to my insurance a couple times to make sure I understand the coverage. It’s pretty basic, 80/20% with a 5k max a year.
@galactickates Pretty sure we still have stuff in boxes from when we moved a year ago lol. Time to get rid of that stuff we never use! Mexican is so good! Deep fried ice cream!!
@eleven_ One of my best friends is also just starting TTC too. I feel the same way. At this point I fully expect her to beat me. Congrats on the 8% bonus! That’s awesome!! It felt so good to let someone in on the secret at work. That way, if I need to leave for an appointment, I can talk it through with him and get an idea on how to handle it.
@dragonette505 That’s so exciting to get you testing done. One step closer. I love this colleague of mine. He is so understanding. For example, it’s usually a good idea to leave politics out of the work place, but with him, even though we have different views, he is so calm and listens, agrees with somethings, disagrees with others. But he will never turn a conversation/discussion into a heated debate/argument. There’s no condescension whatsoever. I can say this about most of my colleagues with only a few exceptions lol

@fantasyflyte Yay for positive OPK!!!
@rosebud332 Do you have postmates or uber eats where you live? Or do they not deliver that far (30 min away)? Also, now I want Indian take out, lol.
@Whitmore1027 So impressed with you going through a program to take charge of your finances and save. My husband and I really need to do that. I know we're wasting so much money that we could be saving with small things (coffee, sushi, etc.) and...I know it's mostly me that does that! Are you guys doing a cash budget? I've heard that's popular and a good way to save, but I can't wrap my head around using only cash. Also, speaking of not saving money, an awesome pho place opened up literally 2 blocks from us and I can't stop ordering from there! It's so good!
@catlady2015 Glad you got in a good workout! Btw, what is CoQ10? I've seen a couple of people mention this supplement. Did your dr suggest it or is it something you found on your own?
@galactickates Yay for getting your garage in order! And I also hate daylight savings time with a passion. I am extra tired today.
@eleven_ Oh I totally relate to that race to get pregnant feeling. I'm in a group of two other friends of mine who have had struggles TTC and **TW pregnancy mentioned now one of them is pregnant - the one I mentioned who messaged me her BFP. And the other girl in the group is doing IVF and will hopefully be implanting in May, so I feel like I have to get pregnant by May or I will just be so completely sad, but I know pregnancy is not a race and me wanting to be pregnant in any given time frame does not mean by body will cooperate but I can't stop thinking that way. Ugh. end TW***

WAYDTGKU: PNV, husband on preconception vitamins, HIO, OPKs, preseed, trying to lose weight to get to a healthier BMI.
R/R: Rant: I am not losing weight as quickly as I'd like, even though I'm mostly counting calories now, and I know it's because of wine and snacks on the weekends, sooooo I'm having to cut those out starting now. (BOO.) It's just temporary until I get to my goal weight, but wine and snacks while watching Netflix with DH is one of my fave parts of my week. Oh well, I can tough it out for like, two months. Anyway, rave, as I mentioned in TTCAL: my foot is almost better! I think in another day or two it'll be totally back to normal and I can resume my lunchtime walks, which I love. I may even try a short one today.
CS/Q: Nope.
GTKY: What's your favorite type of foreign food? Well, I grew up in California, and live in socal now, so I basically grew up with and adore Mexican food. I eat chile relleno like twice a week and we have taco nights with carne asada pretty regularly.
@maureenmce - YUM!!!!!! I love Mexican food too! I can actually cook really good Mexican food. I made pollo poblano and Mexican rice for a friend of mine and she said it tasted just like her mom's cooking (she's 1st generation Mexican-American). I was very proud of myself for that.
So I heard from my nurse and it turns out I do have 2 follicles that are 12 mm and 9 mm. Would've been cool if the u/s tech was more forthcoming because I was freaking out for no reason. Having 2 lead follicles makes me feel better than just 1. That was a similar outcome to my last cycle so I'll take it looking forward to news on Wednesday and hopefully I won't need another ultrasound but we shall see!

@wishiwaspreggo what a terrible experience for an ultrasound! Yikes!!!!
@Whitmore1027 we're working on paying off our debt as well. We are soo many student loans! (Dh has 3 masters eek!)
@galactickates congrats on the garage! we organized our garage a coupe weeks ago. I love walking in there now! And it's sooooo nice to be able to park in the garage!!
@eleven_ congrats on the bonus!
@maureenmce Glad your foot is healing! Hobling around on a sore foot is not pleasant.
If you do take it, try to find ubiquinol, not ubiquinone. They are both forms of CoQ10, but ubiquinol is the more readily available form and is easier for the body to break down. It's also (unfortunately) more expensive than ubiquinone, but you can take less ubiquinol to see a benefit. I think you need to take at least 200mg of ubiquinone to get the same effects of 100mg ubiquinol.

@maureenmce Girl, feel free to DM me, and I would love to give you some starting points! Getting financially stable and taking charge of them are SO stress relieving, it's amazing. I basically do everything that Dave Ramsey recommends. We have our debt snowball set up, we do a zero based budget every single month, we do cash (as much as we can, we pay so much online, that we have trouble with cash). But I would love to give you ideas on how to start!
@Kath525 Wow! 3 masters! That is super impressive! And I can just imagine that loan debt! So great that you are working on getting it paid off!
@lin0442 Oh yes, having an emergency fund is the best! We keep a starter fund (only $1000). One day, my H blew out a tire, and instead of worrying about paying for it, we just used our emergency fund, then built it back up the next month and moved on! It was fantastic! And we don't use credit cards, so we aren't tempted EVER to use one.
@wishiwaspreggo Oh yeah, I can imagine that the fertility costs soo much and makes it hard for debt, but I think going about your plan and growing your family is great!

R/R: Rant: I was 8 dpo when AF showed up. My first cycle/period on my own since before DS. I hope my next LP is longer.
CS/Q: Q: anyone have suggestions to make LP longer? I’ve already heard vitamin B-6 and vitamin B complex. Progesterone cream too. Anything else that has worked for any of you?
GTKY: What's your favorite type of foreign food? Probably Chinese! I also love lasagna and tiramisu and that’s Italianv, so Italian too. lol
@LJMoon6 That parade of houses sounds awesome! Sorry CD1 was so rough. It’s nice to have someone at work who knows what’s going on, isn’t it? I told my manager back when we were going through treatment and she was so supportive. It was nice to have someone at work who knew what was going on.
@wishiwaspreggo Wow!! That nurse who did the scan should be fired. I’d get pissed if someone told me to shh when I was trying to ask questions. It only takes one follicle though! I did see you have two, so that’s even better! But remember, it takes just one. FX for you!!
@fantasyflyte Yuck to the snow. I like orange chicken too. Yum. I want some Chinese food now!
@eleven_ I totally get when you mean about your best friend. I’ve been there.
@Whitmore1027 I love that image. lol This morning I tried to drink my coffee before I had even made it. I got the cup to my lips before I realized it was empty. lol
@Stargazer1lily Mandarin Greek yogurt sounds so good!! Have you had the mango? That’s pretty good.
@maureenmce So you use my fitness pal? That’s what I use. Hopefully you’re able to get back to your walks as normal ASAP. What did you do to your foot?
@holly321 Yay for being back in the game. I don’t even get EWCM before O. I just get watery. It’s usually 2-3 days before O.
I think I responded to everyone. Or at least tried to! I hoped everyone had a good Monday.
