• How far along are you? / EDD: I'm 5+2 today / November 3

How are you feeling? Pretty good. Definitely having some back soreness and feeling a teeny bit queasy, but that's it. This has been an extremely trying week. My 9 month old has Hand Foot and Mouth (yay for daycare bugs), and it presented with like 30 mouth ulcers. Her lips, tongue and mouth are so painful she won't drink anything, so she ended up in the ER getting IV fluids yesterday. Did I also mention that she's currently teething, too?? Poor baby. She's still not taking in even half what she usually does so we're worried she'll end up needing to go BACK to the ER. Yeesh. She's got lots of meds now and I do think she's a bit better today, but it's not helping my early pregnancy go smoothly and calmly as my RE recommends....

Any recent/upcoming appointments? First US is not until the 16th. Looking forward to seeing that heartbeat!!

Thoughts/Concerns? Not really. I had some extra HPTs sitting around so I took one this morning to feel better about the world and the positive line showed up super quick and remains darker than the control. That's comforting to see. It's so weird to get all this time with zero monitoring after such an intense thing like IVF. Betas x2, then........wait a couple weeks and assume all is well.

Questions:

QOTW: What is a family tradition you hope to pass onto your LO? We hope she inherits our love for all things sci fi and sports.

• How far along are you? / EDD 8+2/ 10.14.18 (But Twins so likely mid September)

How are you feeling? After a scary symptom lull last week, nausea is back FULL force this week. Sitting here nursing a pedialyte pop as we speak :). Also having a ton of lower abdomen discomfort, but my OB thinks it's just early round ligament pain since I'm carrying twins.

Any recent/upcoming appointments? Next U/S not scheduled until March 26th at 11 + 1.

Thoughts/Concerns? Last week was scary. Late in the week I lost ALL of my symptoms, on Friday I just didn't even feel remotely pregnant in any way. Tons of energy, no nausea, boob tenderness was minimal. Then Friday night we were out and I danced just a tiny bit, and when I went to the bathroom I had a good amount of bright red bleeding. We were out of town, and this is the 2nd time it happened (first was right after my RE ultrasound), so I went right to the ER. We were planning to tell our families the next morning about our pregnancy, and I just could not in good conscience do that with that amount of bleeding. By the time I got to the ER, the bleeding had stopped but it was an absolutely horrible 2 hour wait for an ultrasound. Thankfully the babies were fine, and the heartrates are great and increasing, but they think I have an SCH- although the couldn't see it on the U/S. They basically sent me away saying it very well may bleed again, there isn't much I can do other than Pelvic Rest, but that it's considered a threatened miscarriage since I had bleeding. I called my OB yesterday morning to report what happened, but haven't heard back yet. In the meantime I've done a lot of Googling which has been both good and bad for me!

Questions: If anyone else has any experience with an SCH, I'd love to hear your story!

QOTW: What is a family tradition you hope to pass onto your LO? Really just looking forward to holidays. My family is small, and there are no other young kids in our family, so our twins will be a very welcome new generation!

1st cycle of IVF started April 9, 2017. ER- 15R, 7M, 5F, 4 frozen, 1 transferred. BFN

May 2017- Hysteroscopy

June-August 2017- 2nd attempt via FET. 2 Embryos transferred on 08/10/17. BFP, but ended in a chemical.

January 2018- 3rd attempt via FET. 2 Embryos transferred on 01/25/18. BOLD BFP on a HPT on 1/31, Beta # 1 on 2/5= 721. Beta # 2 on 2/7- 1903. 6wk+3 day scan revealed twins!

• How far along are you? 10w2day DD 9/30

How are you feeling? Feeling great symptom wise but still a little nervous considering my first OB appt last week didn’t do US or Doppler. I know things are prob fine but it’s always lingering like is everything still OK??

Any recent/upcoming appointments? My next OB appt is the 29th. I’ll do the Doppler then but no US. I actually have the Counsyl gender + genetic screening blood work in the AM and I hope this will confirm what my DH and I found out last night after doing the SneakPeek early gender test that we are having a BOY!

Thoughts/Concerns? My concern is IF IF something bad were to happen (ie miscarriage), would I be able to tell this even though I am still on PIO and estrace until the 18th?? I hate thinking of bad things but with going through IVF and everything I guess it’s alwaya in the back of my mind.

Questions: see above LOL

QOTW: I would saw prob love of sports!! That’s always a fun time

• @tnh0413. Someone on another board told me, "no news is good news," the odds are in our favour at this point that everything is fine, so let's try to assume that everything is okay, shall we! I know I sure need to, too! Lol. They would be able to tell from your scans / measurements, baby's HR etc. There are so many more baby-specific indicators than just the estrogen/progesterone. Don't worry, they have done this before! :D. That's what I kept telling myself too, especially tapering of pio, which was so scary. But I did trust that my doctors wouldn't tell me to do anything dangerous, so that helped. ❤

@mrsa2017 omg, I don't usually get sore boobs, but the other day my dog just gently brushed against or maybe semi- scratched my boob while we were snuggling, (through clothes and several blankets, mind you), and I nearly cried! Omg it hurt so much. DH couldn't believe it! Lol
• @dragonfly6191 I had an SCH my last pregnancy- we discovered it on the 6 week ultrasound. I guess they are very common with IVF pregnancies. I didn't have any massive bleeding episodes-just a few minor (bright red bleeding) but the Dr basically said it will either disappear or bleed out. I was on pelvic rest (no sex, no exercise, try to rest) for the entire first tri.. it went away around 14 weeks. It was very nerve racking but the vast majorities of SCH are totally fine and resolve themselves. I did have a few extra ultrasounds to monitor it and just to warn you it may get bigger before it disappears. Feel free to message me if you have any specific questions- I will be praying your disappears ASAP!

• How far along are you? / EDD
Had my OB appt today and my due date was pushed back a week from my original date of Sept 23rd so I am basically redoing 10 weeks all over again this week lol :/. :(

How are you feeling? Pretty nauseous still but not as bad.

Any recent/upcoming appointments?
Just had my first OB appt today! It went well but I was freaking out because they couldn't find the heartbeat with the doppler. They snuck me down the hall to get a quick ultrasound and I got to see a little gummy bear moving around in there! Heartbeat was totally fine thank goodness. I scheduled the Maternity21 (genetic screening) for next week!

Thoughts/Concerns? Just hoping my nausea will disappear once I hit 2nd tri just like it did with my son :)

Questions:

QOTW: What is a family tradition you hope to pass onto your LO?
Mainly just our families love of all holidays and celebrations! I am really into the holidays and it's so much more fun celebrating with a LO! It's crazy to me that my son had his first Christmas last year and we will have another first Christmas this year too :0! I am excited for when the kids are a little older and they understand all of our family traditions and get excited for holidays. Also my Mom always made birthdays a big deal and so special for us as kids so I hope to pass that to my LO's as well.

9+6, 10/3

How are you feeling?
Aside from naseua, pretty good. I actually almost felt alright this morning, so fx it’s starting to taper down...

Any recent/upcoming appointments?
First appointment and u/s with the midwife was last week, everything looked good! Now nothing for a few weeks. Weird.

Thoughts/Concerns?
Today is my last day of progesterone supplements. Exciting, but also scary. I’ve asked my RE about 10 times if it’s really okay to stop cold turkey. They say yes, but still...

Questions:
Telling family. I know 10 weeks is a little early, but we’re plannig on this weekend, I think. I’ve kept this journey so private, that I don’t really know how to tell them, I guess. Any advice?

QOTW: Whay is a family tradition you hope to pass onto your LO?
All the holidays! I loved doing little cute things for all the holidays with my mom, and can’t wait to bring those back!
• @dragonfly6191 I had an SCH this pregnancy. They saw it at the 6 week ultrasound. I had two days of scary heavy spotting a few days later, and by my next ultrasound, the SCH had disappeared. It was almost certainly the spotting I had. Like @chicandbubbly said, SCH can be relatively common with IVF pregnancies, and most of the time they don't cause any significant problems (other than the stress). Good luck!

@mrsa2017 Hi, welcome!

• @halfanewt. I say do what feels right for you! We told our moms a little early at 7 weeks, and then his dad at his birthday, which was 8 weeks. Then we really didn't tell too many other people until I think it was 12 weeks we told Grandpa, but one other Aunt found out sooner because she had called me about something else and it sort of affected specifically what she was calling about. But you can tell them in whatever way feels best to you! We told his mom in person, and had to call my mom on the phone because she's out of state. FIL we told with a gift because it was at his birthday party, so we had one of those little custom onesies made. But then Grandpa we just told after dinner nicely that we already think of them as a great grandpa, but now he's really going to be a great grandpa! So it was nice and simple and it worked for us. Let us know what you decide!
• @halfanewt both pregnancies we have told people early...which was nerve racking but it was what worked best for us. Last time most of our close family and friends knew we were doing IVF so our immediate family literally found out the same day we found out.

This time around it was a complete surprise and I called my Mom the day I got a + pregnancy test because I was in such shock that I needed my Mom to know lol!! We had to tell a lot of friends early on as well because we went on a wine tasting weekend with like 10 other couples and it would have been obvious that I wasn't drinking the entire weekend. For me personally, if anything were to happen I would want the support of those closest to me. We are waiting until second tri (14 ish weeks) to post on any social media sites.

Do what you feel like would be best for you! There is no "right" time or way to break the news! <3

• @chicandbubbly and @BusinessWife thanks for sharing your stories!
If I had my way as far as comfort level goes, people would find out when the kid is about 2, lol. I think I’m just having a hard time adjusting to the fact that aside from the IVF (hah!) this is a “normal” pregnancy. I’m sure sharing will be good for me :)

@chicandbubbly I would’ve been shocked, too! I bet that was an amazing surprise!
• How far are you? EDD
I am 10 + 2 due date 9/30. Looks like a couple others here with the same due date.

I'm feeling pretty good. Still no morning sickness but extremely tired between work and taking care of the toddler plus hubby is on a business trip this week.

No appointment until 3/20. So long to wait!

Thoughts / concerns: has anyone been rude enough to ask if you were pregnant? What did you say?

Family traditions. I can't wait to go to our favorite beach as a family of 4. Just excited to give my little guy a sibling.
• @halfanewt the first baby I told my parents after the first ultrasound, so around 9-10 weeks . This time I told them after I peed on the stick.
• @chicandbubbly I know how annoying it is for your due date to get pushed back. Mine was pushed back a couple of days and it was a little annoying. But baby will come when they are ready and due date is just an estimate, so don't worry to much.
• @Dragonfly6191 I had a SCH as well- although no spotting they saw it on u/s, it grew one week to the next and they put me in bedrest. It’s better now. Just take it easy- lie down as much as possible, don’t lift heavy items, no sex etc.

• @Dragonfly6191 That's a great update, glad everything is looking okay! I can't imagine how scary that must have been!

@halfanewt I don't have any advice on how to tell family, but I feel in a similar boat about it being so weird to family when they had no idea about TTC/IVF. Literally everyone in my life (in-laws, all my friends, coworkers) knew what we were doing, with the exception of my parents and older brother (we have a very strained relationship). We told our best friends the day of our positive beta, IL's at 6 weeks and all our other friends between 7 and 10 weeks. We're planning to tell my parents after our 16w US, which is my mom's birthday, but I'm already having anxiety about the actual conversation. Let us know how your conversation goes!

AFM, 13+2, EDD 9/10/18

Next appointment with OB is Friday (got moved from today due to snowstorm). I'm feeling great other than fatigue/headaches in the afternoon and sore boobs. I feel like not being sick is my one reward after 2.5 years TTC

Thoughts/Concerns...not really about pregnancy, but about space/logistics and finances. I live in a brownstone in Brooklyn in a railroad style 1 bed/1 bath, with a small "in-between" room between our bedroom and the living room. It's really a fine size for a newborn as long as we're smart with furniture we buy, but I'm starting to get anxious about how the space will work once we actually fill it with baby things, and how it will work for a toddler or when we (hopefully) have more children. Moving isn't an option for at least several more years...anywhere that's a reasonable commute to Manhattan for our jobs is crazy expensive and my MIL (who lives in the same brownstone), will be at least part-time child care.

QOTW...not much really stands out as far as family traditions, but my husband is a HUGE Mets fan, so I'm really excited to take the baby to games, teach him/her the theme song, etc.

• @sarzee2If you haven't already, I would definitely recommend looking into a mini crib. They are 48" instead of 54" i.e. plenty big Lol and then just convert to a twin size bedframe, rather than a full. That's what we're doing to conserve space, since the crib will be in out bedroom for a while.

• We just did the family reveal last weekend at 8 weeks. It was my grandmother's 96th birthday, so I bought her a frame off amazon that had picture slots for Mother-Grandmother-and Great Grandmother. I put a photo of her and my dad as a baby, one of me as a baby with her, and then our ultrasound photo and let her open it in front of everyone! It was a *little* earlier than I wanted to tell them, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity.

New to the check in!

Dragonfly6191 I'm sorry that sounds like an awful, stressful week. I've had two SCHs now, so I've done a lot of reading on them. My understanding is that about 90% of the time they resolve with no issues aside from stress. ***TW****
Unfortunately I was on the wrong side of that with my last pregnancy, but that's rare.
I hope yours goes away quickly. My doctor this round told me that 40% of their IVF pregnancies have an SCH early on, and the vast majority cause no problems.

@chicandbubbly Glad they got you in for a scan! That must have been stressful.

@halfanewt - congrats on finishing progesterone!!! Very few of our family members know about our IF journey. I always feel like giving less information is better. You can add info later, but you can't un-tell something if you live to regret sharing. Maybe that's just me and my family, though.

marimarii - yikes, I've rarely gotten those questions. I would be tempted to be rude in response, but I'd probably be too chicken.

@sarzee2 - It sounds like you'll be fine for a few years, even if it's tight. I feel like less space with a small child is better, because the trail of destruction they leave around the house is truly unbelievable. More space = more time cleaning.

Thoughts/Concerns?
Small SCH that my RE wasn't concerned about, but I'm terrified of. I'd really like it to be gone! I don't know what I want in terms of keeping two going. I'm really worried about carrying two to term.

Questions: None

• @muchwanted I was in (maybe still am) the same boat as you about not being sure about twins. I didn’t really “want” a twin pregnancy- not because I don’t want two babies, but after all I’ve been through medically already I’m just SO scared of the complications that come along with two!

I’m close to 9 weeks now and I’m getting a little more used to it every day. For me it’s helped to really focus on the positives of having twins and just arming myself with research.

There is a multiples board here that has a spreadsheet of everyone’s statistics- when they delivered, how much NICU time, etc that I found very helpful. The statistics were actually a little better than I thought!

• @adirat @marimarii LOL my glow is on my chest... Idk what's up with the little pimple popping up between my breast...

@Dragonfly6191I haven't had my initial scan yet so we don't know if one or both of our embryos implanted, but can I ask if and when you started feeling sick? Heard twins nausea are twice as bad?! I feel good so far (5w4d) so I'm thinking maybe only one stuck. We say "the babies" when referring to them. I guess I'm PUPO with two til we know for sure.

• @mrsa2017 I don't think nausea is an indicator of the number that implanted. I know twin moms who never felt the least bit sick throughout, and singleton moms with HG. How long do you have to wait for your first scan?

After much more of the same...

• @mrsa2017 I totally agree with @muchwanted. It's not a signal. While on average twin moms have more nausea than singleton moms, since this is your first pregnancy, you don't yet know if you'll have nausea at all. Plenty of women get by unscathed. When is your scan? You must be so eager!

• @mrsa2017 My nausea set in bad sbout 5.5 weeks and was horrible until 7. Then I got a little break for a few days, and now is back but is more manageable. I definitely wouldn’t say nausea is a strong indicator either way.

For me, I got an insanely dark positive HPT just 5 days past transfer. By 8dpt the test line was darker than the control line. My first beta was high as well and more than doubled every time. I was not at all surprised when they found 2 on my 1st scan!

1st cycle of IVF started April 9, 2017. ER- 15R, 7M, 5F, 4 frozen, 1 transferred. BFN

May 2017- Hysteroscopy

June-August 2017- 2nd attempt via FET. 2 Embryos transferred on 08/10/17. BFP, but ended in a chemical.

November 2017- Hysteroscopy

January 2018- 3rd attempt via FET. 2 Embryos transferred on 01/25/18. BOLD BFP on a HPT on 1/31, Beta # 1 on 2/5= 721. Beta # 2 on 2/7- 1903. 6wk+3 day scan revealed twins!

I'm blogging about it here
