I have an extensive list of girl names but find I'm really struggling with boy names. I tend to like "classics" like William but my mom basically vetoed that by saying randomly she hates that name (ugh!). Would prefer 2 (or more) syllables as our last name is short, sounds like "shank".
Really appreciate any suggestions!

First, it’s your child, not your moms. She shouldn’t have a say in what name you give your baby. She had her chance to name her children, now its yours.
That being said, I like classic names as well. I think William is a great name and if you love it, go for it.
Other suggestions:
Henry Thomas John Charles George James Daniel Andrew Theodore Michael Oscar Franklin Walter Robert Patrick Gabriel Benjamin Jacob
I can understand not using William if your mom hates it. If you were already sold on it you should consider still using it but if you are open to other names in that style I’d recommend (with many repeats)
Frederick Henry Edward Theodore Oliver Benjamin Samuel Nathaniel Michael Matthew Richard Alexander Peter Thomas Lawrence
