How many months have you been TTC?

Re: Newbie Introduction thread week of February 19
Using a spoiler (hopefully, it’s been awhile...) because it’s TLDR. Lots of TW: LC’s and loss.
We started TTC just before DS1 turned 3. I got PG right away again and we were thrilled! I was spotting though so we got betas and progesterone testing. My labs came back with low Progesterone but a good starting beta number. I started Progesterone that night and went in 2 days later but I was still spotting. The next beta was lower and my OB told me I was having a miscarriage likely due to the low Progesterone which she contributed to a non viable pregnancy. I took methotrexate once but I had retained tissue and had to take it again.
We waited the recommended amount of time to TTC again and then got PG again very quickly. We made it to the first ultrasound and saw a baby with a good HB measuring right on track at almost 10 weeks. I wasn’t on progesterone then and my OB at the time didn’t think I needed a test for this one. Looking back I really should have pushed for it. A week later at almost 11 weeks along I had another m/c. I opted for methotrexate again. That same day I was laid off from my job.
H and I decided to wait a few months to recover from the loss and to move. I had found a job a couple states away. So we sold our house and moved to where I could work. Once we settled in a bit (about 3 months after the last loss) we started TTC again. I started seeing a midwife practice and they did some RPL testing which is when it was discovered that I had MTHFR and low Progesterone.
6 months later I was PG again. I had betas done and they doubled each draw. I was on Progesterone and things were going ok.
At 7 weeks PG I got up for work and felt... a pop internally (best way I can describe it). Then excruciating pain. I assumed I was having another m/c but my others never hurt this bad. I could barely move and all I could do was scream in pain. H called the MW who told him to rush me to the hospital. Which is where they doped me up with morphine and did an ultrasound. The tech saw lots of blood in my abdomen but couldn’t locate a pregnancy or see anything else. I was rushed into surgery for an exploratory laparoscopy. There they found a grapefruit sized cyst on my left ovary and an ectopic pregnancy that had implanted on my right ovary and had burst. The surgeon did save both my ovaries and I was told to TTA for 6 months and was referred to an RE for RPL history.
During my 6 months on the bench my RE ordered a ton of testing and genetic screening. All came back normal for the most part aside from my MTHFR, low Progesterone, and borderline low AMH. The RE did give me onr additional DX of ovulatory dysfunction, basically my eggs grow but they don’t all release and burst forth like good ones do. Which also led that RE to believe I had low egg quality. I started on a slew of vitamins and supplements and read lots of books.
By the time 6 months were up I was ready to start on Clomid. I did that for 4 months but my lining started thinning a lot. My RE moved atbthat point and I found a new one who did more testing just confirming the old RE’s DX’s. I started 6 rounds of Femara then with no success. Took a break from meds to reassess for a couple months with TTC as naturally as we could and decided to move on with injectible meds and IUI.
3 rounds of Gonal-F and IUI with no success and thin lining each time. Another HCG revealed that I had several polyps blocking my tubal openings which had to be removed. I had the polypectomy but we were feeling hopeless. We were talking about just giving up. My insurance does actually cover IVF at 90% but not at any clinics within my state. We started researching adoption and decided to do one more IUI while we were getting everything together with our agency.
This IUI was awful. H’s sperm counts were low (though he had great ones previously) and my lining was measuring at a 5. The IUI was on my birthday and I remember crying the whole way home and the rest of the day.
2 weeks later I saw a positive HPT and I almost passed out I was in such shock. I was so hopeful, terrified, and a range of other emotions.
Weeks went by and aside from HG (again) everything was normal. I passed all my milestones and ultrasounds all looked good. We stopped looking into adoption and became hopeful as we found out we were having another boy. Then at 23 weeks on the way to work I was in a car accident. My car vs a semi going 70 mph. I can’t recall much other than terror and screaming DS2’s name over and over again hoping he was ok and I wasn’t going to loose him after making it that far. Half my car was gone and somehow I survived. Thankfully no one else aside from me and the semi was involved. I was rushed to the ER where about 20 Dr’s were waiting for me. I had X-rays and CT scans and other tests done. I was not allowed to move and DS2 was being monitored for 24 hours with an intern assigned to sit by my bed the whole time.
I had a placental abrubtion but was stable otherwise. So, a long hospital stay and lots of bed rest later I was let out on strict orders not to do too much activity and to basically just go to work and come home to sit. The abrubtion appeared to be stable and with weekly monitoring and NST’s with my OB and also with my new MFM I was free.
They induced me at 39 weeks and DS2, my miracle arrived. He is 18 months old now and we are ready to see if #3 could happen but we will have to be ok if it doesn’t. 6 months to 1 year of TTC is what we are doing. H is against going back to the RE and if I have another loss I may call it quits. We will play it by ear.
Ages (you and SO): I'm 37 and my DH is 33.

What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? charting (just started about a week ago), OPK, all the things
Tell us about yourself! My DH and I have been married six years and we have an almost 2-year-old daughter. She's walking and talking and generally hilarious. We're just now starting to try for a second so I thought I'd get myself back on the Bump. I was active on TTGP and the April 2016 birth month board way back in the day, and I really loved the community. Hobbies include books (currently reading Celeste Ng's Little Fires Everywhere), cooking/baking, and really bad reality TV (Bachelor Winter Games, anyone?). Hope to see you all in the daily threads soon.
@caybb352 Wow. What a road you have been on. I am so happy that your DS2 is happy and healthy. I hope your stay here for #3 is short, sweet and uneventful!

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) 2.5 year old daughter, love baking, board games, music and Pound fit classes!
How many months have you been TTC? Umm...I think the first attempt was September 2017, so...*counting*...about 6 actively. Been working with fertility doctors and endocrinologist since early 2013, though, largely because I'm diabetic and they wanted my a1c lowered.
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? This is our 3rd IUI cycle.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) Well, I'm currently working as a bakery clerk at The Fresh Market...I do a lot of pastry decorating, writing on cakes, etc. We're working on getting a business of our own started so I can actually bake instead of decorating frozen stuff. Working on baby number 1, hoping this cycle is the one! We have 2 guinea pigs, Paige and Phoebe. We spend a lot of time spoiling our 4 nieces and 2 nephews. I'm also trying to get a blanket made in time for the arrival of our third nephew in April...currently it looks more like a scarf LoL Here's hoping I get it done!
Age: 32 early next month and my hubby that I actually call “dear” is 35
How many months? We just started.
WAYDTGKU? I like to research and know as much as possible before I jump in so I’m still reading (Taking Charge of You Fertility). I recently started charting which isn’t bad since I already track my food and fitness.
About us: We’ve been married ten years. We have 13 nieces and nephews. I love to watch my DH play with the kids. We don’t have any of our own. I was one step away from cervical cancer 8 years ago. Then my DH had testicular cancer 5 years ago. Then my PCOS was so bad my doc put me on birth control which gave me migraines so I quit like 8 months in. Other than that we have not tried to prevent but not actively tried. Unlike my sister who I call Fertile Myrtle(she has 4 DS), I haven’t just magically became pregnant so now I’m researching and tracking and trying. Oh and we have a dog named Dixie (she’s ten) and a cat named Mister (he’s 6 months). And yes my dog thinks the cat is her pup and he doesn’t mind at all. I think that’s us in a nut shell... oh wait and we love to play games (video, computer, phone, board it’s all great).
