Question about initial blood work. My first appt is Feb 28th and my dr will order a script for blood work. Is it usually fasting bloodwork? I'm trying to figure out if I can go right away to the hospital to get it done, or if i'll have to wait till the next day. Appt is at 1pm, so there's no way I'll be able to hold off eating. I'm bad enough about it as is!

I'm fairly sure I didn't have to fast before any of my blood draws last time, and I did a TON of them.
For the week that they are doing the test for gestational diabetes, my nurse told me that I should limit carbs until after the test. But there is a vast difference between skipping my morning grapefruit juice and not eating at all.
Help!!! Anyone have any quick temporary fixes for this MS? The nausea is really bad today and I have to leave for work in an hour. (Eating hasn’t helped)
@jynjer91 have you tried Preggie Pops? They helped me first time around. One of my best friends swore by ginger altoids for her MS.

@shortstack930 I actually just ordered some on Amazon this morning! Hopefully I like them. I hate all sweet or sour things right now so it might just be a waste of money.
@jynjer91, I've been using sour candy when the preggie pops drops don't put a dent in my MS and that tends to help. That or Chimes ginger chews (or really any brand of ginger chew).

Sea bands. I know it sounds dumb but they work wonders.
I got prescribed the PregVit Folic 5 vitamin. Question is I need to eat within 10-20 mins of me waking up or I feel nauseous and light headed. This has always been my case even before pregnancy. So can I take the pink pill (iron) in the evening before bed as long as I haven't had anything to eat for 2 hours? Then take the blue pill in the morning with my breakfast? Between me having to take Metformin with breakfast, lunch and dinner, my Vitamin C and D and now these two pills I feel like a pill popper!

@chyvie call your Dr or pharmacy and ask, that is the best way to get the right answer with meds. Would hate to tell you something wrong on something so important!
I have it pretty bad and all things ginger make it less bad. Friend made me fresh ginger juice to “shoot” - tastes like armpit so chase with orange slice.
Got GinGin chews from sprouts. Also these mixers seem to help and taste good mixed with seltzer water. Pricey for an 8 pack but only things that seem to stave off the worst. Just ordered 3 packs from amazon.
