Trying to Get Pregnant

Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. Re: TWW Weekend 2/17-2/18

  • Month/Cycle: 2/2

    Cycle Day/DPO: 19/4

    Timing: -3, -2, 0, +1

    Typical LP length: 15

Testing: Trying to wait as long as possible. Probably at or after 8dpo, because...I am mean to myself.

R/R: Rant: Rainy cloudy weekend. Literally the first super wet day since we got our puppy and now I get to experience a dog that wants to roll in the muddy water! Yay! I think I'll have to bring him out on a leash all day rather than just letting him run amuck in the yard unless I want to give him a bath every time he goes outside. Today is laundry day! Not a fan of doing it, but it feels SO good once it's all done. Not sure if this is a rant or rave, but H and I recently decided I should go back to work. Finances are crap right now, and we have even had to dip into our 401K, which is a BIG no-no. So, I have started applying. I used to be a leasing consultant, and I got a call back from a place the day after I applied. Haha. They are big about hiring people who have experience. I got a response from a daycare center, so we will see what comes of that. I don't know how I feel about going back to work as we are TTC. But then again, it could be months before we get pregnant right? I just don't like making a commitment and not being able to stick to it.
Yesterday I went to the urologist, I wasn't a huge fan of him...he was very to the point and professional, but not much bed side manner. I like fun happy doctors. But he is supposedly great at his job, so I guess I can deal. He thinks my abdomen pain was kidney stones. He wants me to get a CT scan. So that'll happen in the next week or so. They of course will test for pregnancy first....I am wondering if I should just wait long to see if I am before I go or get it tested there. He couldn't do any checks for my thyroid or anything which SUCKS. (but understandable since that's not his specialty. I learned something new!) So I'll be spending more money we don't have on a PCP to check that out. Does anyone here have hypothyroidism? Would love to chat a bit about that.

    CS/Q:

GTKY: What’s your favorite smell in the whole world? This was a hard question!! But I didn't think about it long and went with the first thing that popped into my head. My husbands beard oil. (WEIRD). I LOVE the smell. He bought it from a vendor at Scarborough Faire a couple years ago, and we absolutely love going there, so it reminds me of the fun we have every year, and it's just a very nostalgic smell. I LOVE it when he wears it!

  • Month/Cycle: 35/33

Cycle Day/DPO: 24 and not quite clear (see questions), most likely 3 or 7. Or the cycle is an-O.

    Timing: If O was CD17 then 0 and if CD21 -4

    Typical LP length: 14

Testing: Apart from the one this week (see YNP thread), then if AF is not here by Friday I will not be able to stop myself. As that’s when my CBAD will beep at me to test.

R/R: Whilst I was “have I ovulated or not” limbo all week I wasn’t very active sorry, Also was crazy busy.
But today we’ve had a nice morning out gong round all the DIY stores so DH could get some things he wants to complete some of the projects in his workshop. Now he is sleeping on the sofa whilst I watch Shaun of the Dead (again but it’s easy viewing).
Rant - in spoiler, ***TW mention of PG and then lots of rambling.
We also stopped in Ikea for lunch and I have the feeling I was the only person under 60 not KU or with a small baby. Even DH said let’s get out of here.
Also this week was super stressful at home - one of our neighbors died, the property was sold to developers, who this week without permission from the authorities came and took down the old building and the trees. Every single one of them, most of them over 40 years old. DH will go on Monday with some other neighbors to the local building authority, but it’s a bit late after it happened! As it was school holidays nobody from the authorities was available last week (which I assume was why they did it then). It has left several of our windows open to the neighbors, so we’re on mission order blinds to give us some privacy quickly. We plan to re-landscape this year and will arrange for fencing/trees/bushes, but that’s several months away yet. They also blocked our driveway and I had to threaten to call the police to even get my car out to go to work.
On top of the legal issue we have, all the efforts trying to sort out the new clinic, work and write my thesis this was one thing too much this week and I had a mini meltdown on Thursday morning. Friday DH took some of my to do list for me which has helped a lot.

CS/Q: So this Morning FF tells me... (details in spoiler as super long)
According to temps I Od on CD21 and would be 3dpo
According to CM I ovulated between CD 17-19 and would be 5-7dpo
According to OPKs I ovulated between CD 16-18 and would be 6-8dpo
CBAD said high from CD 10-17 but never gave peak
CP when to firm and closed CD21 (it was clearly soft and open CD12-18, 19-20 was getting more closed and firmer)
They even wrote in the interpretation that it is possible I Od on CD17 but in order not to test too early I should use CD21.
Which is funny as I already POAS to make sure the super long highs and positives weren’t due to me being magically KU. See post in the “you’re not pregnant” thread.
    Bets on when I Od?

GTKY: Ooooh got to be the one when you bury your face in your pony’s mane. Nothing like it.
(note my ponies are sparkly clean unless they just got turned out in the mud and rolled!)

@Whitmore1027 It's not exactly beard oil, but mh has this after shave that he uses once in a while that I got him for his wedding gift at a fancy shaving store. It smells so good. Every time he has it on  I say, "Mmm you smell beardy." Haha!

  • @emmasemm YES horse smell is AMAZING! It brings me happy thoughts! I wish I had some advice for you, but I really don't :( I am super new to charting and I am still learning my body. I sure hope someone has some ideas for you!
@rosebud332 I gotta say, in general I just LOVE mens fragrances! I used to sell Scentsy, and my absolute favorites were the "men's smells". They smell like colognes and whatnot. Haha I love the "you smell beardy"! I swear, when H wears his beard oil, even if I am not in fertile week (because I really loose interest in HIO during LP), my ovaries are like "LETS GET IT ON!"

  • I think I’m comfortable moving over here now. Hi TWWers!

    Month/Cycle: 2/2

    Cycle Day/DPO: 18/2 (I think)

    Timing: -5,-2,-1,0

Typical LP length: Not sure yet

Testing: I highly doubt I’ll be able to wait the whole two weeks. I am not a very patient person when it comes to these things.  :#

R/R: Excited to have DH home for the long weekend! Hoping we can make the most out of the mild weather we’ve been having and maybe get out for a hike or something.

CS/Q: FF thinks I *may* have O’d on CD15 (dotted lines), but I’ll admit that my ability to temp at a consistent time has been mediocre at best. I turned my first positive OPK and still had fertile CM on CD16 though, so I’m not so sure. I’m going to use CD16 for timing purposes. I feel like I’m still just trying to get a hang of this whole charting thing.

GTKY: What’s your favorite smell in the whole world? Oooo, probably bakeries. Especially ones that make cinnamon rolls. Actually, I’ll get more specific than that - the bakery on Main St. USA at Disneyland. So much nostalgia there (and excellent cinnamon rolls, lol).

@Whitmore1027 I’m sorry the urologist wasn’t a good personality fit, but hopefully his expertise makes up for lack of bedside manner. I usually prefer personable doctors as well, but I’ll admit that some of the BEST doctors I’ve come in contact with were not friendly at all (surgeons especially, yikes).

@emmasemm LOVE Shaun of the Dead! Sounds like a nice way to spend the afternoon. I’m a charting newb, but I’m going to bet on 17 for you based on everything you mentioned. Hopefully someone who knows more than I do will be able to weigh-in.

    @josie12367 Your morning sounds lovely!

Hope you all have a great weekend!
  • @wrensnest Do you know what day you first got a negative OPK? I knew I O'd on cycle day 15 because I had a positive OPK that morning, but a negative one that evening. Plus my temp rose the next day and each day after. Then of course FF gave me the cross hairs 3 days after I thought I O'd. I am still new but it definately makes sense. Positve OPK tells you that you will O soon, and the temp rise means you already O'd. And it's true some of the best doctors can have crappy personalities. Haha! And cinnamon rolls are my favorite!! I love whataburgers cinnamon rolls!
@josie12367 Your morning sounded Devine! Donuts sound super good right now too. We haven't seen wonder woman yet either but I've heard good things!

  • @Whitmore1027I probably should have included this in my original post, but my OPKs were confusing. I got my first positive late morning (not FMU) on CD16, then negative that evening (after holding and limiting fluids), then got the exact same thing on CD17 - positive in the morning, negative in the evening. This morning was decidedly negative. I had cramping and spotting on the evening of CD16. CM was pretty much gone CD17. Only negative OPKs before CD16. FF is tentatively saying I O’d on CD15 though based on temps (it even mentioned that their prediction didn’t line up with other symptoms). I don’t think my temps were reliable though, as I was waking up at all different times and not always able to temp before getting out of bed.

    Cycle Day/DPO: 18/6

    Timing: Good

R/R: I'm so glad someone in here mentioned requesting a Progesterone test 7dpiui. I am going to do that tomorrow and thanks goodness Kaiser labs are open on a holiday. I was looking back through old temp charts and notice a lot of temp dips in my lp during the cycles where I did O. I really really really hope that they do find a P deficiency (because that would be easier in my mind) so that we can fix the problem of IF.

It's the only thing that would make sense since the issue before with not getting pregnant was due to having irregular cycles, etc. Now that those things are being fixed with treatment medications, what gives? It has to be some kind of a hormone issue beyond that.

I'm upset with my RE for only ever checking my P level in my fp one time while I was spotting a lot. When my husband called them before this cycle began to ask them how they are sure I am even ovulating with the Ovidrel, the Nurse told him because it happens 99% of the time and that they can see in my blood tests that I Ovulated.

I looked it up and the statistic is actually only 91% and I realized that they haven't been doing any P tests so how would she know? /eyeroll I cannot stand people who are knowingly passing false information. That is one of my biggest pet peeves in the world. How hard is it to simply say, "You know what? That's a good question. Let me look at your wife's chart. Oh, it seems we haven't done a P test since February of last year and it was only during her follicular phase. That won't do. Let's fix this going forward."? Ugh. I'd have so much more respect for that person.

CS/Q: I'm curious, do any of my ttgp ladies who have PCOS have low Progesterone levels in your lp?

Fav Quote: The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return

  • Month/Cycle: 14/5

    Cycle Day/DPO: 39/9

    Timing: -5,-4,-2,-1,+1

    Typical LP length: 14-15

    Testing: Tuesday

R/R: ugh! Getting so impatient now.  I just want to know! Temps are still up.  Cervix is firm and closed but has been everywhere height wise. I know it's not a primary consideration in signs, so I'm trying to not let it bother me.  Instead of a day trip, we are having a bum day at the house.  Not helping my restlessness! I have my appointment to get my referral tomorrow.  May discuss with them about ordering a beta for me just so i can know for sure since I'll be requesting routine blood work already (testosterone and vitamin d).  Do y'all think 10dpo is too soon for a beta? I can always get it drawn a couple of days later...

  • @josie12367 I'm not sure that it's too early for a beta but I'd definitely be PO on every Stick in my house lol
  • @galactickates lol! My saving grace is that I can't hold my pee long enough to test reliably this early. Otherwise I'd be peeing on all the things!
