TW And to answer your question. YES, YES it does. I have officially been trying for my 3rd for 12 times longer than I did for my first. But in all seriousness, you may be pregnant next week, next month, a year, or never. What happened to one person won't be the case with you. And plus also, many ladies on here have never had a baby, so questions like this are better left to the TFAS thread.
TW No one can tell you a definitive answer because I’ve seen women struggle for their first and then try for #2 with no issues. However for me, I got pregnant with my son within 4 cycles, and now I’m 18 months into trying for #2 and knocking on the door of IVF. So it is different for everyone. End TW

Who knows! I know people who have taken years to conceive their first and ended up getting pregnant with #2 a couple months after #1. Or vice versa where #1 happens fast and #2 takes a lot longer - or never happens. My advice would be don't start trying until you're ready and ok with getting a BFP that day. Your body should have a certain time between pregnancies to be considered healthy.. Will you be happy / will your doctor be happy if you get pregnant tomorrow and have your babies 11 months apart?
OP... I say you appreciate the baby that you DO have and stop trying for more kids. You seem to have a healthy baby at home, which is more than many of us on these boards can say. So go love and hug that kid and stop asking insensitive questions of people you neither know nor support.

Our first took us 18 months, and our second was 13 months...We're 14 months in on trying for a third. So maybe it might take as long, maybe not....
The question really should be, did you find out any medical reasons why the first took you so long? And have you done anything to approach this cycle of ttc differently?
+1 for thinking you might want to give yourself/your body a little more time to recuperate
Well, I wish I could have more babies. I spent so many years ttc with no result. I got pregnant after the 3rd IVF attempt. That's why I stopped thinking of having one more kid. But...of course, we keep ttc. I know that it is almost impossible, but I will be glad to get pregnant again. I always dreamed to have a lot of kids. I have two sisters and it is amazing. We all are best friends. That's why I support your idea of having the baby #2. I think you should keep trying. Stay positive and you will definitely succeed. I've heard a lot of stories when women got pregnant in a couple of months after the first delivery. So, everything's possible. I wish you good luck.
People think we become mothers when we give birth but the truth is we become mothers the moment we start calling our babies to us in our thoughts, dreams and prayers. Some paths are short and some are so long that you can easily forget where you were headed.

"In fact, a short amount of time between pregnancies is associated with more complications and may place your subsequent pregnancy at risk, says ob-gyn Marielena Guerra, M.D., of Elite OB/GYN in Florida. One meta-analysis in 2006 found that an interpregnancy interval of less than 18 months was associated with a slightly increased risk of low birth weight, preterm birth, and small size for gestational age. Additionally, babies conceived less than six months after their siblings had a 40 percent increased risk of being born prematurely and a 61 percent increased risk of low birth weight, compared to women who conceived at least 18 months later."

I would be really careful ttc 2 months after having a baby. And I would definitely talk to your doc before you actively start ttc...
