@offtoneverland, oh no, I’m so sorry about the AMH results. Having just gotten that news myself in December, I know how hard it is to hear and how overwhelming it feels. I’m glad your RE is going to be able to get you in quickly so you can talk to them about your next steps. Sending lots of virtual hugs your way.
@zamora_spin I'm not sure there's a precise definition, but diminished ovarian reserve means that you have very few eggs left for your age. Literally, your reserve has diminished. Premature ovarian insufficiency means that your ovaries aren't working sufficiently to produce eggs. For instance, I had a serious luteal phase defect (typical luteal phase, 8 days) because my corpus luteum is also insufficient because my ovaries and eggs are just insufficient (my RE looked at it once by u/s and remarked on how small it was). I believe that POI also causes premature menopause in most women, whereas many women with low AMH start menopause at a normal age.
@offtoneverland SO sorry for those results...AMH is not the whole picture of egg reserve (though its an important indicator especially in regards to IVF and the likelihood of response to IVF drugs). I also want you to know that AMH CAN change and some women on here have improved their AMH and their results (including myself). I hope they shed some light on your particular situation and how to best move forward.
@dragonette505 Thank you so much! Is there anything specific you did to improve your AMH? I got ISWTE a couple weeks ago and have been slowly working my way through it trying to take some baby steps. I've also been taking CoQ10, although my RE seemed a little skeptical of it.
@offtoneverland I also read How to improve egg quality .... I found both books really helpful. I have done and am doing THE MOST! i am going to a functional medicine doctor who does all my blood work and is helping me with an anti inflammatory diet. I’m taking a bazillion supplements and stuff. Most re’s recommend coq10 so don’t feel crazy about using it. In fact I’ve been told to take between 600 and 900 (CHR has their patients take almost 1000). Dhea I also take. I got blood work done to check my levels before and after supplementation, which I think is a good idea. My last tested levels were “high” for my age group, but just right for a 25 year old woman, lol. i am taking many of the suggested supplements from both books (and some I’ve researched on my own). My AMH wasn’t super duper low (just for the sake of transparency) but being old I have many of the same issues as low AMH. And tbh, when you’re old you get listed as DOR regardless because it’s probably the case. And either way, I was able to get it up and that’s proof of concept. AMH Isn’t really always tied to conception chances, but it will tell you about response to meds for sure (if you go that route). But it can indicate *something is going on .
Thank you @dragonette505 ! I have a requisition to get a whack of things tested but first I need AF to come back. It's all day three testing, which makes me even more anxious to get my cycle back.
@ChloandCoco So sorry to hear about your loss. big hugs sent your way. It seems so unfair all of the heartache and ups and downs you have had to deal with. @holly321 I think I am feeling the same way. Ghosting and posting. I feel really great some days and others I just can't get myself to log on. Solidarity with the overwhelming amount of posts too. Which is so bittersweet because this group of ladies here are such a great support. But it makes my heart heavy that we are all here because of our losses. @dragonette505 Praying you have a speedier recovery! I am so glad you have this surgery behind you now. One more thing off the check list! You got this! @coco2787 I am so incredibly sorry. I was reading along with this thread earlier last week and hoping it was just a slow rising beta. sending lots of love from Wisconsin. @bakerstreetboys Welcome! This group of ladies here are amazing. But I am sorry you are here too for the same reason. @offtoneverland crossing my fingers for a negative result for fragile x. I am so sorry to hear about the low AMH. @dpjennifer Ugh. There is nothing worse when someone else announces they are pregnant and you are left wondering why them and not you. I recently deleted/unfollowed on social media anyone pregnant, or who just had a baby, or has twins. It was freeing. It is so hard not to be bitter towards other people who are blissfully and ignorantly happy about their pregnancies. I sometimes just want to knock them down a peg or two and say, just because you are out of the first trimester doesn't mean you are in the clear. I wouldn't, but I am thinking it and it makes me feel awful. Hopefully this co-worker of yours keeps all her happy slappy pregnancy talk to herself.
Introduce yourself and anything you think is important: number of loss(es), when you had the loss(es), diagnosis / conditions surrounding loss, etc. Twins diagnosed with TTTS. Shepherd passed at 22 weeks after an in utero placenta surgery. Abraham was born at 25 weeks and fought like hell in the NICU for 24 days before finally joining his brother in heaven.
Status: benched at minimum for 8 more weeks due to c-section in november.
How are things going? What is something that you are struggling with this week? What is going well for you this week? R/R? I had a crap week. It was the twins due date yesterday and I cried on and off all day. I ended up deleting anyone on social media who is pregnant because I couldn't deal. I think it will be a healing change for me. We dressed our DD in a big sister outfit and released two balloons for them. I feel more at peace today.
Any testing coming up/any recent results? I am temping and it looks like I ovulated on CD 16 this cycle. I might take the next 8 weeks off from temping until we can begin to try again. I have my yearly physical next month and I am hoping to get the green light for TTC in april.
GTKY: (Copied from WTO) If you had to be known for one thing, what would you want it to be? My strength. I get that a lot now especially after the last year we have been through.
@meatballs37 It's so good to hear from you! I've been thinking about you. My heart hurts so much for you with your boys' due date being yesterday. It sounds so healing that you released balloons for them and involved your DD in the process. Good for you for realizing you needed a break from those updates on social media. I hope it will give you some peace. Good luck at your appointment next month and hopefully you'll get the go ahead to start TTC whenever you're ready.
@meatballs37 I'm so sorry you've had such a difficult week. I hope you get lots of love and comfort from your DH and DD. Anniversaries are so hard. *Big hugs*
