Big brother/ big sister gift ideas

I thought I would start this thread since it's been in my to do list and I know a lot of you have little ones at home already. I have a 2y 3m boy and I want to get him a gift from the baby to open at the hospital. Any ideas on what would be a good gift? What are you guys planning?

Re: Big brother/ big sister gift ideas

  • @ashleyf911 this is amazing!!! I just ordered the Melissa and Doug books,  thank you!

  • My daughter is almost five and my mom got her a baby doll that has cloth diapers.
DS is 9 and I am not too worried about getting him something since he has done this already.

  • I’m also doing big brother/big sister bags with coloring books, play doh, snacks, juice boxes to give them when I’m in labor

  • @ashleyf911 wow. You have so many good ideas! Unless we go super early, my mom should be here for the birth so I’m hoping to get her to make cupcakes or cake with him at home for the “birthday party” while we are at the hospital.

I just ordered the full set of Paw Patrol TY beanie babies because he loves stuffed animals and has been on a huge Paw Patrol kick. Those will Be from the baby to him and in a few weeks I’ll take him shopping to pick out something for “baby brubba”
  • I bought stuff to put in a tote, just need to get the tote. For my 5 yr old I got

    Hot Wheels cars
    Markers
    Drawing paper
    Brain putty
    Kinder Egg
Tiny dinosaurs that came in a tube
Gummies he wouldn't normally have, cookies, a new water bottle
    A big brother book
A disposable camerafor him to take pictures
    A puzzle

  • Also getting DS a big brother shirt, a new lovey (same one he currently has- loves it but I think it's time we add another one into the rotation), a Peppa pig coloring book & a camera that he can use to take pictures since he loves trying to use our phones & cameras. Do you like the vtech one @ashleyf911
  • I’m not sure how to best participate for DD- the hospital is currently on flu lockdown and there’s no end in sight for that so she’ll not be allowed to even visit (our hospital also regularly has a policy about children under 15 being in the room during pushing). She’ll be with my MIL for the duration of our stay. One of my coworkers got her a gift as part of the shower (a small stuffed bunny) and we already got her a big sister shirt as that’s how we announced it to the family. So I’m gonna steal some of all your ideas. :)
