@kns1988 My DH did the same thing, he has an allergy to one of the components and always gets sick for a days or so after. And has had a reason since... October... why he couldn't possibly be sick for one day...And congrats on the milestone, that's amazing.
Sending hugs to all you ladies that need them.
My random is also illness related - we're waiting to see if it's flu, I think it's passing too quickly for that. I think it is run of the mill stomach bug hitting everyone... But I do think the romantic weekend away I've been planning for a month and a half may need to be rescheduled, which I am super bummed about.
My H... I know I complain about my H but I almost spit my drink out from laughing. He was talking to me and the first time ever I wasn't on TB and he starts yelling at me to get off my phone and i never listen and he realized I just had my mouth full of food. He couldn't see me over the boxes. (We're moving) he said in his "wifey voice" - "well every time I try to talk to you just say 'I'm talking to Louise and she just found out she's pregnant with a dinosaur!'" lol I don't know why but I found it so hilarious. So of course I get on here and tell you guys about it. Duh!
@lurvleybunchococonuts Ok you just hit what happens in an IUI pretty much perfect hehehehehe! Except I’m now disappointed because I thought they used a unicorn horn to spray it out of... hopefully @jrm_14 will let us know for sure ;-) It’s made me want to do an IUI just to see now haha!
@galactickates oh your DH does sound so so funny. And once again so like mine. You have to love them or kill them at every moment lol. Sounds like this was a love them moment!
@sassysweetpie my DH also wouldn’t get a flu shot and this last weekend was just removing from his third bout this winter. I was already past gloating at the second time, this time just frustrated at the plans we had to move yet again!

sassysweetiepie, that sucks that you have to reschedule your plans. I hope you're feeling better today. We had to cancel our plans this weekend, too, and I'm super bummed about it. Turns out only DS came back positive for the flu, so DH and I just got lucky and have a vicious stomach bug.
Me: 29, DH: 31 Married: October 2014 Began TTC: April 2015 BFP #1: 9/18/15. EDD 5/18/16. MC 10/26/15. (9w) BFP #2: 2/27/16. EDD 11/7/16. MC/D&E 4/20/16 (11w) BFP #3: 9/22/16. EDD 5/29/17. DS born 4/24/17 BFP #4: 5/20/18. EDD 1/23/19.
@kns1988 which of course... means you can now catch the flu from your DS Fun times...
Now I am trying to come up with a substitute - This was my gift to my husband for his 40th birthday, so I feel like I should do something else to make it special. Even though it's still happening, we don't know when... This was close enough to his birthday he was excited about it on his birthday, now I feel like I took his present back. Even though *i* didn't
So I joined this specific ttc group on FB, but it's getting harder and harder to participate. Not because of the subject it's the people... Facebook groups are the equivalent to "the people of Walmart" today some girl posted a hpt with her ring on it which caused all sorts of shadows and someone responded with an app that reads HPTs... I wanted to send a screen shot of an app that you put your finger on it and it tells you you're KU but thought in the off chance they actually thought it was real that would be just too cruel. The whole time I was thinking these girls need a You're not pregnant help thread.
Eta - avoiding the double post and because it's so slow... where is everyone? - I was just on instagram and looking at the diy hacks page. They showed how you can put chips and dip together in one big bowl. but they dip they showed was ketchup! What kind of monster dips their chips in ketchup?!?!? This is simply not a thing.
@galactickates and @jrm_14 I’ve basically written off all of the other TTC boards/groups I’ve run into. I like that the ladies on this site tend to be pretty well informed and it’s not a total tire fire of discussion. Sure, there can be drama and BSC, but it’s generally pretty self-aware.
The lack of ~engagement ring pee sticks~ is a big plus.
@galactickates Omg. I know what you mean by facebook groups/app groups being horribly annoying. Before I came back here to The Bump, I had checked out the Glow App. OMG if you want to see some MAJOR BSC stuff, you should check out THAT community. I do not participate, but sometimes when I am extra bored, I'll scroll through just to torture myself I guess and just can't believe the kind of things I see. This group is SO much more wholesome...and I guess you can say mature.
And ketchup on chips?! EWW!! I mean...fries are potatoes and chips are potatoes...but it's still weird....
Engagement ring pee sticks? Say it isn't so - This... doesn't really happen right? I mean I thought you all were just being over zealous posting "don't post things you pee on" all over the place. People DO this? Also, ew. *Newbie Horror*
I don't understand the whole ring around the pregnancy test. Is it supposed to be telling people where to look or is it just girls showing off their rings?
On another note, I just read that a British cruise company is offering a Harry Potter magic cruise for only four thousand a person. What? Four thousand a person?!? Isn't that a little steep?
Am I going crazy or was there talk of starting a This Is Us thread? I was going to start one, but now I think I’m going crazy because I searched the board and can’t find any reference to it.
DD1: June '16 DD2: March ‘19 :::: Married since 2011 :::: USN Wife ::::
@meggyme you're not crazy, we did talk about it but we also all agreed we're slackers at watching it, which is probably why there isn't a thread up yet. If you've seen the newest episode go ahead and start a new thread. I haven't yet so I wouldn't new much help. Another board might have a thread you can copy the template. I would ask a high/low of the episode question, what do you think is to come, how did you feel about "blank" moment. Once I've seen the newest one I'll particulate!
@elven_ While I love Harry Potter, that is a ridiculous amount of money to spend on a vacation. I hope they have a whole bunch of actors from the series for that price. Yeesh! @galactickates Ketchup on chips? Gross! Who does that? @sassysweetiepie I'm so sorry you had to postpone your getaway! I hope you can find something fun to do while you try to reschedule it. Hope you all feel better soon.
I've heard this is us is really good, and I need a show. I'm home alone at night, my DH works second. So having people to talk to about it would be.. great.... lol
@galactickates when I was younger, middle school years, I dipped my chips in ketchup, I haven’t done that in years but now I kinda want to try it again to see if it’s as good as I remembered...maybe I should have saved this post for FFFc???
ETA re: This is us, I accidentally clicked on a spoiler thread online today....I’m so disappointed with myself, I only read one post but it was related to Jack so now I can’t wait til the episode after the Super Bowl!
My British brain was reading through this whole thread like what the hell happened to make Americans have such strong feelings against chips and kethcup, it's a match made in heaven haha!
I’ll try to start The This is Us thread sometime today then. I just couldn’t remember what board we were talking about it on and couldn’t find it by searching.
DD1: June '16 DD2: March ‘19 :::: Married since 2011 :::: USN Wife ::::
@craftyg bahaha... that's cause your crazy Brit brain thinks that french fries are chips in that sense, yes chips & ketchup are perfections, but "crisps" and ketchup sound barfy! Although I do recall as a kid dipping a few ruffles in ketchup and enjoying it, maybe 8 year old Coconuts & middle school aged @nmbrcrnch1 were on to something...

@lurvleybunchococonuts yeah but British chips include all different kind of chips, French fries, oven cut, fish and chip chips, curly fries, wedges, we’re very accepting of all our chippie friends haha
I like chips (crisps) with ketchup... I mean, they're still fried potatoes, right? Just in a different form!
And speaking of Facebook groups, I'm not part of any for TTC but I am part of a couple for Weight Watchers and it's definitely a "people of Walmart" type of deal. Holy crazy. Apparently "points shaming" is a thing. If you're unfamiliar with how WW works, you get a set amount of points to spend for the day and another for the week. There are 200+ foods that are free, so to speak, and they consist of non-starchy veggies and fruits and lean proteins. The foods with points have higher fat, sugar, and carbs content. Anyway, people post recipes and then trolls come on and yell at the poster for sharing something that (God forbid) has more than zero points in it. These people are militant. And some of the questions they ask are just... wow.
I think there are two schools of thought when it comes to dieting: you're either all in and wanting/expecting to lose 2+ pounds a week, or you're willing to accept a slower weight loss in favor of moderation. I always fall in the second category because when I try to go balls to the wall it always ends up backfiring after 2 or 3 weeks.
But, so far so good with Weight Watchers! I've lost 7 pounds since starting at the beginning of the month so I'm pretty happy with my progress my work is sponsoring meetings so I'll start going to those next week.
Ketchup on chips/crisps IS still good!! For those who have never tried it, it's not like the chip gets smothered in ketchup - It's just a little dab, to get some of the flavor! I definitely still do this!
@wishiwaspreggo I’m with you. I fall into the latter too, moderation with dieting. I can’t give everything up. It would make me feel like a crabby horrible person.
Sorry to all all of you who had the flu. I heard that the vaccine was only 10 percent effective this year in some areas. We had it last week as well. Ugh.
Also so sorry to all of you having a tough week with announcements/bmbs. That’s how I felt last week big time. I avoid my old BMB because it would just make me feel awful. Especially since some of the women are giving birth now already. I just can’t even go there.
My random for the day...I skipped the gym this last week and it felt really good to be lazy. I’m staying in my robe all day today and watching the price is right in a half hour. Cheers!
@meatballs37 that sounds like a glorious day planned Also I'm firmly in team moderation is key. My MIL "diets" non stop and is miserable and SOOOOO unhealthy. I'd rather decide on a day to day basis of making smarter choices than say okay I'm not allowed to eat this, or only allowed to eat that. Life's too short to cut out all the good stuff in life. @wishiwaspreggo holy guacamole good job girl!

@meatballs37@wishIwaspreggo@lurvleybunchococonuts I with you guys on team moderation! I tried 21 day fix last summer. That ish was awful! The duet was so strict and their fix approved recipes were nasty. I’m a sweets girl.
I've seen a lot of hoopla about the Whole30 Diet and I was wondering what that was so I looked into it. Apparently you cut all sugar, grains, legumes, and lactose from your diet for 30 days. Because it's supposed to "cleanse" you and "reset" your immune system and balance your gut bacteria.
Fun fact: we have these really awesome organs called livers and kidneys and they magically filter all these toxins in the form of pee and poop and we expel said toxins on a regular basis.
Sorry, but I'm always dubious when someone tells me they're on a "cleanse." Your body is cleansing itself. All the time. It doesn't need any special help.
My only caveat would be if someone has an actual condition that needs to be treated with diet such as lactose intolerance, autoimmune disorders, Celiac, etc. But the rest of us? We're fine. Eat your yogurt and be happy.
Preach @wishiwaspreggo. I'm always amused at the cleanse diets. I feel like doing stuff like that is more likely to screw up the natural order of your body rather than the other way around.

My only caveat would be if someone has an actual condition that needs to be treated with diet such as lactose intolerance, autoimmune disorders, Celiac, etc. But the rest of us? We're fine. Eat your yogurt and be happy.

"You know that place between sleep and awake,
that place where you can still remember dreaming?
That's where I will always love you.
That's where I'll be waiting."
