we’ve been having a hard time naming this little girl, but I think we’ve narrowed our list down to three. DD1 is Faye. Middle name will be elizabeth, Josephine or cathlyn. Last name is very common similar to Robinson.
1. Edith nn Edie (my fav but DH is 100% sold) 2. Jane (only possible concern is too plain with our last name and sounds a bit like DD1’s name) 3. Gwen
we like uncommon, short, feminine names so feel free to add suggestions, though I feel like we’ve considered every name in the book at this point.
As a Jane, I can tell you it's a fine name and one I have really liked since becoming an adult. As a child, I wished for a more "trendy" name (Jennifer, Nicole, etc). But as an adult, I have really liked it. Edie is a sweet little nickname but Edith has always sounded clunky to me. Gwen is sweet too, but I have to admit Gwendolyn has been a secret indulgence of mine for some time. I would use Gwendolyn and nn Gwen or Gwennie. Gwyneth is also nice. Have you considered Claire? I've always liked that one too.
My good friend just named her daughter Claire, which I love. We do like Gwyneth as a longer option for Faye. Gwendolyn doesn’t sound great with our last name.
I think they are all nice solid names. I have a slight preference for Edith bc I think the nn Edie is adorable. I’d put Gwyneth/Gwen in spot two, and Jane third.
Edith is my favorite with a common last name. Edith Josephine would be my pick. Jane is nice but I feel it sounds generic with a common last name. Gwen is a good nickname but I wouldn’t use it as a stand-alone.
I like your choices; agree that Edie is cute but Edith is tough even as an adult. I like Gwen but would prefer it as a nn for Gwendolyn. So would put Jane as my fave from your list. Also love Claire...suggesting Paige and love Anna.
Gwendolyn Elizabeth nm Gwen was on our short list for this baby girl. We ended up naming her Lucy Elizabeth instead. We also considered naming her Ruth, another short classic name, after my great grandmother.
I love old names, which is why it’s on our list. Sounding like an 80 year old is a compliment
To you...not so cute on a 3 year old imo. I know its all the rage right now, but I cant get on that bus lol. Trendy in a old fashioned way if that makes sense.
Re: Top three girl names. Thoughts welcome.

I like how it and its nickname pairs with Faye the best as well.
Edith sounds like a 80 year old
I suggest Judith with nickname Judy.
