Re: our convo regarding cross stitch vs embroidery a while back
I got a gift card to Michael's for my birthday so I got myself an embroidery kit to try out. So far I don't absolutely despise it, but it is outside my comfort level. Also included some pictures of my recent cross stitch projects

@jrm_14 Yay! Let us know how your nails turn out. Pics are expected!  I went to the grocery store yesterday but totally forgot to look for them. Boo!
@lurvleybunchococonuts I'm convinced that you need to start an Etsy shop! Your cross stitches are so amazing. Maybe my new years resolution should be to take up cross stitching. Where do you find the patterns? I can't remember if you've said before.

@offtoneverland I don't follow any preprinted patterns per se, but search for ideas and build off of them. I find lettering and designs and put it on graph paper and "build it" but none of them are original ideas. Google search "cross stitch danger zone" and you'll find a few similar to mine, but not exactly. Or search "cross stitch for fox sake" and you'll find a few variations of the idea. I'm not very good and coming up with completely original designs/ideas but do a decent job at recreating things.

Eta: I think the next one I want to do is a "bless dis hizzle fo' shizzle" one for a friend getting married in February

I bought a pack yesterday while I was at Target and just put them on. I'm not going anywhere. I just wanted to have pretty nails to treat myself this week. They only had 2 types of the nails though. I'm super jealous of your selection @jrm_14. Sorry if the pic is huge!

I felt like getting my kitchen on this morning, so I baked some bread and made fresh pesto. It’s going to be so good for our picnic this afternoon!

I was nervous they’d be too long. My work has a pretty short requirement for nails due to it being in a healthcare facility. However, once on, they clipped down easily!  There is only one I think is going to come up soon. Thanks for the recommendation, @galactickates!  The Mecca was found in a Wal-Mart in the middle of Kansas.

AFM - Sorry I've been MIA I wanted to participate more with the nail discussion at the very least but this house is sucking the life out of me and all of my time. We just spent the last two days doing nothing but home design. We put the offer in and the builder was like "cool,  you've got 4 days to make changes...  GO!"  We're almost through though!  We just have to go over all paint  and siding color.  We picked out all of the back splashes and tile yesterday and today! We picked a really bold kitchen back splash, I just hope it all turns out.

Does anyone watch The Crown? I'm on season 2, episode 7, and it's so good. I was pushing hard for my extremely extroverted husband to go out tonight so that I could watch TV at home in peace!

@galactickates That's so exciting about your house, but sounds exhausting too. Do you know yet when the house will be finished and you'll be able to move in? You'd better share some pics, especially of the bold kitchen back splash!  
@jrm_14 Your nails look super cute. Glad to hear that they were easy to trim down. I keep my nails really short and was afraid the impress nails would be too long for me.

@galactickates So..... I guess I did a super shitty job at applying. 4 came off about 2 hours later. I used the alcohol wipe and the file and pushed really hard. 

And to those who are watching Black Mirror. Season 3 has royally f*cked me up.

I think it's episode 3 where the psycho lady kills the whole family including the baby. I felt so sad after watching. DH said I'm way too sensitive but like.... she killed a baby.

@eleven_ Did you make sure to put them on right side up?  I think I may have accidentally put one in upside done & that is the one I’m worried about. I used the nail file to rough up my whole nail a bit, then the alcoholnpad.

@jrm_14 The picnic was a great success! We had more than 50 people show up this week and the weather surprisingly cooperated throughout the afternoon. I definitely ate more bread and pesto than I should have Your nails look so cute!

@offtoneverland & eleven_  I should have mentioned my other nail trick,  I usually use the smaller sizes and push my cutile down as far as I can. It doesn't make them as long. When I'm trying to figure out the right size with the smaller ones I flatten them down on my nail as flat as possible to make sure I'll have coverage,  then I take the sticky back off and apply.  
I have pictures of the back splash,  but I'm nervous to show it until it's in our kitchen.  @offtoneverland I'll pm you a pic.  You'll know what i mean when you see it

@jrm_14 it’s a hiking and running group. We have a picnic after every trail. Every week it’s in a different place and a different person sets the trail. I’m in charge of food every week (I get a $60 budget), but this week I made it extra fancy with some homemade goodies.

@galactickates yup - OP was really going for it for whatever reason... though I was not surprised by the higher rate of strange posts these last two weeks as it always happens after long weekends when people find TB, set up an account and then get to the end of their three days and start posting like wild cats...

July 18, pregnancy hacks, it could be one of my favorites. The above June 18 thread eluded to it, so I lurked over there. It’s good. So good. OP gives unsolicited advice and isn’t a regular. The advice as you can guess is well received

@galactickates my favorite was the bumpie who said to basically not eat anything, only drink water, but in moderation or you will drown. I couldn’t stop smirking to myself. I needed a fun pick me up this morning.

@galactickates A couple months ago you had us all out buying ice cream, now you have us all out buying nails! Pic of mine in the spoiler (it's probably huge, sorry!). I love them! They feel pretty stuck on, so we'll see how long they last. I got the rounded ones because I love the color, but I had to trim them down a lot.
