This is along those lines. Period was due 12/29. I elected to not test until 1/1, because then I "didn't know" and the one small cocktail I had on NYE was my last hurrah.
I'll be joining you in tiny glasses of wine at times in 2nd & 3rd. I have beautiful cordial glasses that look like mini wine glasses. They're perfect.

I didn't want to test early because last pregnancy I got my bfp the first day you can take a first response. I just wanted to skip over some of the early days where you're just waiting. That being said, I knew there was a chance I could be KU but kept telling myself, "Nah. We literally only DTD once during my fertile period and this is the first month we're trying. What are the chances?" And I am a follower of "drink until it's pink" so between all the holiday parties and my bff coming to visit, there were a few nights when I got pretty tipsy. I know a lot of people might find that really risky but honestly, I'm not worried about it. My other FFFC: My LO has been napping for 3 hours now and I'm watching Grey's Anatomy instead of doing chores or making dinner.
I judge parents that take their sick, coughing, green snotted, "he threw up a day ago but he is fine now!" kids out to fun places. Bish don't tell me it's allergies. We all know little Timmy's barking cough isn't allergies in the middle of January. You just wanted to get out of the house.
Give me all the caffeine, deli meat. I will eat as much as I want. Also on NYE I did drink a little bit of wine even though I had already tested positive.
@SkilledSailor I just cancelled my boudoir shoot I was supposed to have Monday. I’m actually considering rescheduling it for when I’m 7-8-9 months pregnant...but MH said he loves the way my body looks pregnant. Probably lying but it’s what he’s getting.
@megnwingate Oh I love that idea too! I figure I have about a week to decide if I'm going to do it or not in the first trimester. Definitely going to consider other months now, too.
I will also likely eat deli meat and drink all the coffee. To make this slightly better I'll mix with decaf, but seriously, kids require caffeine. I will also keep my hair done as often as I want, self care is too important to give up with not enough known risk!
@nlc8424 so much yes to the hair care! Grey hair when you have naturally dark hair is difficult to keep up with...I even have been rocking some “shadow roots” lol
@SkilledSailor I say go ahead with your shoot! Even though I've never liked the way I look much, I find myself wishing I had some pics of my pre-baby body, just to see what's changed.
Also, just wanted to throw it out there that every OB/NP I asked at my practice said caffeine is fine, just don't drink three pots of coffee a day or be drinking a bunch of energy drinks or anything. And the lunch meat thing is kinda crap too. During my last pregnancy all the listeria contaminations were in granola and random stuff like that they never warn against. Just have to do your research and do what makes sense to you for a lot of this stuff, there's info floating around out there to make you scared of practically everything!
Re: FFFC 1/5
Other confession, I'm a big wine person and am already looking forward to my first half glass of wine in second tri.

One of my favorite wine bars has half glasses on the menu, which will be perfect so I don't waste an entire bottle at home.

I thought of another. I’m considering doing a boudoir session ASAP because I may never look like this again. Purely for me to have.
