Would love to hear how baby's first Christmas or other celebrated holiday went! Feel free to share updates, photos in cute outfits, pics of gifts and summaries of how their first holiday experience went.
We actually celebrated Christmas with both our families last weekend. LO did great with being around so many new people. We had a hard time with sleeping, due to being in a new place and regular schedule being thrown off. But overall, it was a great weekend!
Overall, Christmas went really well and we celebrated at DH's family's house. My only complaint (as weird as it sounds) is that his family tends to be over gifters and it can be frustrating/embarassing. We make very good money but this year, we are being a bit cognizant of the fact that 1) we just paid $6500 in hospital bills for having our LO, 2) I am on maternity leave and losing 60% of my pay for 3 months. So we spent about $35 each on siblings and $75 on parents. Turns out...his brother bought us a $100 gift, his sister spent about $120 (between gifts for us and our LO) and his mother easily spent $300 (which definitely does not have). While it was very generous of them and we expressed our gratitude, I wish they hadn't done it. And I feel like an ass on top of all of it given we make more than all of them...ugh.
But, all of that aside, it was still a good time. A few photos of the past few days:
DH gave me a custom made book to read to DD: He also gave me a necklace with DD's birth stone, date of birth and name:
My daughter did great. We spent Christmas Eve with my husbands family and Christmas day with my family. She slept most of the time and she didnt cry while being passed around like a hot potato. We didnt buy her anything specifically for Christmas because she already has so much but my husbands family gave her a lot of stuff which was really nice. Here are a few pictutes from Christmas day.poo
It snowed here on Christmas and he loved the brightness when he looked out the window! We still haven't seen my side of the family since everyone was sick.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
