Selfishly started this because after 125 days on the market, we finally accepted an offer today!!! You have no idea what a stress selling this stupid house has been for all of us, pups included. The family moving in is going to be a perfect fit for our neighbors too (who have become our best friends.) Now I get to pack! Can this be my BFHS - my big fat house sold?
@galactickates YES! So glad that your house selling saga is over, but sorry you have to move away from your friends. How soon do y'all have to get out, and remind me, do y'all have a house to move into?
Thanks @nitnat007 & @josie12367 and everyone!!! @josie12367 - we have a couple we've had our eye on. We have until January 31st. We've been to so many open houses and showings over the last 125 days. We've seen everything. We have one that we really love but are going to sit down tonight to pick which one to put an offer on. We'll Probably pick in the next couple days. I got the notice from red fin that our house went to pending and it made me tear up. I just can't believe it's real.
I've spent my day lackadaisically doing chores and errands. I'm planning on trying to make peppermint bark soon! I've never tried before but found a recipe on Pinterest that looks easy. FX it turns out well so I can use it as small treats to hand out to neighbors.
@jrm_14 Haha her face in that photo is my absolute favorite! She's never made that expression before. And ugh! Why didn't I think of that! We tried having her wear a santa bandana but that lasted all of 3 seconds.
@SkilledSailor Ha ha! Your cat's face is saying, "Halp! I'm not Simbaaaa!"

@leahnicole Aren't those cute! Our friend's have a bakery and made them for us. I was very impressed. My jeans are less impressed since I've eaten way too many of them.
@galactickates - congrats on selling your house!!!! That is so exciting I'm currently living in what I not-so-lovingly call my investment house. I dislike it overall because it's really old and lacks amenities I want despite the extraordinary amount of work we've put into it. And I've learned (the hard way) that I don't like all hardwood flooring it gets dirty so easily and I desperately miss the feel of carpet on my feet. I'd re-do the floors if we were going to stay there longer but we plan to move to Indy in 2-3 years and the hardwood flooring is *beautiful* and will make a great selling point. Problem is, we have 3 pets and 3 people living in a 2 bedroom, 1000 square foot house. Keeping it clean is impossible. The upside is, the house is worth much more than we paid for it and will be worth even more after another 2-3 years due to local improvements so... we will stick it out but I miss having a modern house with carpeting. Pooh.
@SkilledSailor - I love the photos!!! Your kitty's face is priceless! I wanna give him a hug! I used to have a cat with those same markings and he was so beautiful. I still miss him after all these years.
AFM... I won a free cookie at McCallister's because I found their elf on the shelf! As if I haven't eaten enough holiday goodies so far but I can't turn down a free chocolate chip cookie.
@wishiwaspreggo thanks! We struggled with selling our house or waiting, we made a lot of money on our house because big tech companies moved in near by. We would stay and make more but we've completely out grown this house. We have 1400 sq feet right now but DH had it packed with his stuff for the last 12 years he lived there that when I moved in, even after purging a huge majority of my stuff, we're still super crammed. Also our kitchen is also waaaaay to small. We're also afraid that we won't be able to find anything because prices just keep rising and not enough inventory. We're sweating right now seeing if the house we submitted an offer on will get accepted. I can't wait for this to all be over!!!!
Thank you @nitnat007!!! It's definitely been a huge distraction. Since I'm benched it feels a lot like praying for a BFP! Now I'm just praying for a BFOA -Big fat offer accepted. Totally out of our hands!
Speaking of BFP's I'm so incredibly happy for our ttc grads that moved on recently. I can't wait to see more!
@josie12367 surprisingly enough I haven't made a pie recently and have no plans to either... might have to rethink that for this weekend.

@galactickates - fingers crossed!!!!!! Ugh, waiting to hear about an offer is the worst.
I'm hoping the next time we move we give ourselves lots of time to wait for a good offer on our house and then just move to an apartment in the area we want to move to until we find the right house for us. We were so crunched our last move because we found the house we're at now for a super-bargain and we knew the guy who was flipping it and he offered to let us pick all the finishings if we bought from him but we couldn't pay for it until we sold our condo. We ended up having to sell at much lower than I'd hoped to get.
And moving sucks but being in a house you love is so worth it. I hope your offer is accepted with no complaints and you have a smooth closing!
@galactickates FX that you get your BFOA! We just bought our first house in April and I hated waiting for the responses after we submitted offers. Our first one was declined, but we ended up with an even better house (location-wise) that we love. I hope it all works out well for you! Keep us posted!
My random fact of the day is that I put a pot roast in the crock pot this morning and I can't wait to eat it tonight! Growing up, my dad would make pot roast every few months and it was just the best thing. I've only made it once before, but it's just so easy I really need to do this more often.
@galactickates I just want to thank you for your comment on the mouth sore thread, that was the best laugh I've had in a while

@galactickates Um, I laughed so hard, too. Side note: That thread was closed for unwelcoming tone yet that poster was basically asking about a BFP in a “roundabout way”?? Mmmmk.
Thanks @coco2787 & @jrm_14 I was giggling as I posted it. @jrm_14 - I had the same thought about the post being closed... I showed my DH and he got a good laugh too. After the fact I thought I should have crossed out all the symptoms like nope nope nope nope yes! But I thought it could read like that anyway though. That was a really fun one. I was laughing at everything.
I was thinking it would be fun to have a drive by reflection thread but I'm sure it would get closed down way to fast. I just really appreciate how hilariously awesome all the ladies are here.
@galactickates I realize it is kind of late in the week at this point, but will you edit the title of this thread to say 12/18-12/22. I know some ladies have been thrown off by the title and don’t want to bump a “zombie” thread.

Hey everyone - just posting here to wish you all a happy holiday season! I hate Bumping from mobile so I will be mostly silent (aside from some love-tits) until sometime in January.
So... adios! Hopefully when I come back a number of you will be graduated! Love and luck to all.
