  • @jrm_14 I tried to use the logic that DH doesn't see me in my underwear, and he pointed out he had an issue with that too.

I have mixed feelings about the projector lights, we have them, but we have a ton of other lights too.  I have seen them pointed up in trees, and I think that is really pretty.  But in general, I think they are overdone, and I don't like them as a standalone light.
  • @jrm_14 I agree with @holly321 that the projector lights are pretty when they're directed at trees, but otherwise I don't really like them either.
@CraftyG that sleeping bag is so cute! I definitely agree that you should go back and buy it.  ;)

I am secretly relieved when plans don't work out to spend Christmas with the extended family. I'm so much happier (and less stressed) when it's DH and I.

ETA: @SkilledSailor - I also have a big shelf of Golden Books and toys from when I was little all gathered together, ready for when I need them.

  • @jrm_14 No judging but wow I am shocked as to how? I can totally understand a day or even a few but two weeks is just scary! Like my mind just goes straight to toxic shock syndrome
  • @craftyg  No idea. No. Freaking. Idea. I remember thinking “oh, I guess I never put one back in after I showered” and putting in another one. I had an idea at about 1 week something was amiss, but I get a lot of yeast infections (due to immunosuppressant meds).
The day I found it, I was going to call the dr about my symptoms because they weren’t getting better. Then, BAM.
  • @jrm_14 OMG!

As for me... I HATE A Christmas Story. Like, absolutely loathe that movie.

  • So I guess mine is that Love Actually is one of the very few romantic comedies/ chick flicks I can stand. And I also like A Christmas Story.
And @jrm_14 been there. Not for two weeks, but yup.
  • I love Love actually it’s probably my favourite Christmas movie, the cast is amazing and Hugh Grant as prime minister makes me laugh so much.
@josie12367 @holly321 Big ol hugs to you guys!
@holly321 it did make me laugh about them getting offended, like people can comment on your physical appearance but you shouldn’t dare mention your physical health haha! I’d be mortified if I’d made that mistake not offended.
  • @lulu1180 - I have maybe 15 A Christmas Story tree ornaments, and dedicate a tree section to them every year.

@holly321 Good for you for making them feel awkward. Like, seriously?
  • This week i am sending all the flames to doctors(?).  I go to a practice with multiple doctors, and i don't go unless i am really, really sick. (which i am)  And this guy seriously spent 5 minutes with me and sent me on my way with a useless antibiotic for a viral infection.  Seriously? What if i was pregnant? (spoiler, i'm totally not, but shouldn't he have at least asked?) What if i have a pre-existing condition? (Spoiler, i DO, i have asthma).  I wish i could get away with half-assing my job like that.  (she says, as she whines to internet strangers on the bump while she's at work....)
  • @jrm_14 - same tampon horror story happened to me, when I was 19 :\ I needed help from an OBGYN to remove it. It was so humiliating. Silver lining: I haven't done it since and I never will again!
  • @catlady2015 I'm not sure where you live but have you ever been to the Christmas Story house and museum?

  • @dukestar5 I really just don't like that the actor who plays Bilbo Baggins in the Hobbit is a porn star in Love Actually. lol. I want to picture him as a hobbit, not a porn star!  :D yes, I'm hoping to see Pitch Perfect 3! Are you? Also, buy the outfit! Do it! And post a picture of what you're getting. :)
@jrm_14 Thank you for posting an exciting FFFC today! I can almost always feel my tampons when they're in so I don't get how you could forget it, but no judgment here. Maybe that should be my FFFC...my tampons almost always go in crooked and I don't know what I'm doing wrong!  :|
@lulu1180 I've actually never seen A Christmas Story all the way through!
@eleven_ Way to go on the car sex! (Couldn't resist posting a BBT gif with all the hate going on for that show today!)

  • @jrm_14 - this happened to my best friend too, she even HIO with it in and they didn't know. I asked her the same thing? How is that possible?  I have to change mine every time I go to the bathroom.  TMI*** I think I've been doing it wrong, apparently I'm not putting it in far enough.  I was wondering how all these people could be wearing their tampons that long??

  • @galactickatesYup. Same boat as your friend. And I change mine every time I use the restroom, too. Like @offtoneverland, I always seem to get them in odd, so the ones that work best for me are smaller. I have no idea what happened. You can bet I account for every last one now, twice :D *TMI* I,like both of you, I’ve had difficulty with tampons before. I had to change positions I put them in as well as types like size and applicator vs non applicator.
  • @offtoneverland True!  I completely forgot about that part!   :D  Not my favorite casting choice.
And yes! For sure.  It will probably be a girls' night event. ;)  (And re: the outfit--I will!  I may go to the mall next week because I want to try a few things on instead of ordering online).
  • **i think I’m a lurker right now**

MH was drunk and tried to HIO once when I had a tampon in. “Just the tip, just the tip” I didn’t let him, but he was begging really admiring and pleasuring and I’d be lying if part of me thought oh yeah maybe just the tip.

also—I love Love Actually and Pitch Perfect!
