Re: TWW Wednesday 12/13

  • Month/Cycle: 10/10

    CD/DPO: 15/2dpiui

    Typical LP Length: 13

    Timing: IUI

    Testing: Beta on 12/26

R/R: Got new tires for my car just in time for more snow, so I'm pretty pleased about that. This is also the last week of classes, and my students are giving final presentations today and Friday, so not much work for me to do. Yay!

    CS/Q: Nothing to see.

GTKY: What is the farthest you've ever been from home? Europe. I studied abroad in Spain, worked in Scotland, and traveled in Spain, Germany, Ireland, and the UK.

  • Month/Cycle: 1/1

    CD/DPO: 26/9

Typical LP Length: been worried about this, but made it to 9 today, hopefully get to at least 10!

    Timing: good

Testing: not buying wondfos until I confirm a normal LP. Also have an expired FRER... probably should throw that away. Cramping though so AF is on the way.

R/R: Finally I have a day to catch up on my to do list!

    CS/Q:

GTKY: What is the farthest you've ever been from home? I lived in Russia for a while, but the farthest is Thailand.
TTGP December Siggy Challenge: Favourite Holiday Movie Moment

  • Month/Cycle: 5/3
    CD/DPO: 27/7
    Typical LP Length: No idea
    Timing: Not bad
Testing: Broke down and dipped a wondfo this morning. Thankfully it was defective and the dye didn't even move up the stick. DH and I agreed to move testing up to Saturday.
R/R: I'm skipping a union meeting. I really don't feel like hearing my colleagues complain about the minor issues at my school, when my old school was ten times worse. I also just want some peace and quiet. It's about pensions, so I'm sure there will be twenty other pension meetings for me to go to before I retire.
CS/Q: Nothing that isn't BSC SS nonsense.
GTKY: I taught in Israel for a month one summer. I also traveled there on Birthright. DH is from there/still has family there (including his 101 year old grandmother!) so we'd like to go back soon (but not now- too politically tense).

@LJMoon6 the South Pole? That's friggin' crazy! What was it like?
@matryoshkadoll I've always wanted to see Thailand
@darkstar42 my brother just went to Spain. It looked amazing
    Me: 28 DH: 29
    Married: 6/2016
    TTC #1: 12/2016
Benched due to deployment- Off the bench 8/8/17!

  • @darkstar42 Yay new car! What did you get?
@matryoshkadollHope you get a few more days of LP! That's cool that you lived in Russia. I've also been to Thailand. It's an awesome country!
@LJMoon6 That's so cool that you've been to the South Pole. Antartica is the only continent that I haven't been to. I need to make it happen!

  • @jsnakehole I can understand wanting to skip that meeting! My coworkers complain about stupid stuff too but I've worked previously in two really toxic environments so I think they don't know how great they have it! I also went to Israel on Birthright and would love to go back one day!
  • @SkilledSailor I'm usually a crazed person during the TWW but this time I've just not looked at my app so a few days after O. I really don't know how many DPO I am and it's surprisingly good. I was tempted to open my app yesterday but glad I resisted.
  • Month/Cycle: 16/19

    CD/DPO: 22/7

    Typical LP Length: 13 days

    Timing: -5, -2, O

    Testing: Beta next Wednesday

R/R: Just ready for AF to come so we can get IVF #2 on the road

    CS/Q:

GTKY: What is the farthest you've ever been from home?

I am from NY so the furthest distance I have gotten is Bosnia and Herzegovina.
  • Month/Cycle: 3/3

    CD/DPO: 23/6

    Typical LP Length: 11

    Timing: Really good

Testing: I was going to wait until at least the 18th, but realized that DH’s holiday work party is this weekend so maybe I should test so I can indulge in wine. I don’t know, I haven’t decided yet.

R/R: I dreamt last night that I took an HPT and it was negative, which made me sad. Of course since I dreamt about it now I want to do it in real life, although it’s pretty much guaranteed to be negative at this point. Rave: My boss is out today so I’m basically doing nothing.

    CS/Q: No

GTKY: What is the farthest you've ever been from home? Mine is pretty lame, but probably the Bahamas. Not nearly as exciting as the rest of you ladies!

@darkstar42 Yay for not having to do much work and a break coming up!

@Matryoshkadoll I had several different friends go to Thailand last year and all their pictures looked amazing. Did you visit an elephant sanctuary? That’s what I’d really like to do.

@LJMoon6 Those pictures and that experience are so cool. Talk about a once in a lifetime opportunity.

@jsnakehole I would definitely skip that meeting. I feel like even if complaints are valid, after a while hearing other people complain just brings me down.

@jaylii What 5 countries did you live in?

@skilledsailor FX your clients pay you soon after your email.

@kiwi2628 What was Bosnia and Herzegovina like?

@LJMoon6 Growing up moving internationally every few years did have its challenges, but I wouldn't change it for the world. Living in other countries as an expat is a wonderful way for a child to grow up. I also feel fortunate that I traveled so much with my family. Mostly switching schools and making new friends was hard for me. A lot of the schools I attended were very small and I had like 25 kids in my grade.
@melbel0824 In order from birth to 18 - I lived in Brazil, Costa Rica, U.S., Portugal and Thailand.

Edited to add my response to melbel0824

  • @melbel0824 It was breathtaking. I would have loved to go hiking there- although since they had a war 20 years ago and some of the bombs are still unaccounted for, its not particularly safe to hike the mountains. The cities were all so small and cute, but so many of the buildings were still riddled with bullet holes from the war- it was so bizarre. I also love getting out away from tourist areas (my idea of hell is a cruise ship), and going to different places (I just got back from Morocco which was amazing!), so it was fun that way.
  • @matryoshkadoll How was Thailand? Ive always wanted to travel there!
@LJMoon6 I also get choked up on success stories! Glad I am not the only one :)
@jaylii Enjoy spending time with DH!
@SkilledSailor Have an amazing time tonight!!
@melbel0824 I love when the boss is out too lol I bring my iPad and watch netflix when shes gone.

    Month/Cycle: 3/3

    CD/DPO: 17/6

    Typical LP Length: Not sure

    Timing: Decent... we'll see!

    Testing: Next Wednesday because Vodka.

R/R: Everyone in my office forgot our boss's birthday yesterday, so we threw a huge party today and I truly overdid it on the pizza and cake. I have never had such issues with my self control as I have since TTGP. At a time I need to be healthy, I am eating so bad! Also, my pup threw up in our bed at 5am this morning. The sound of a dog about to vomit is the one thing that makes me shoot out of bed!

CS/Q: Forgot to temp this morning and it feels pretty freeing. I might not temp the rest of my TWW.

GTKY: What is the farthest you've ever been from home? Im in Chicago and went on our delayed honeymoon to Aruba a couple months ago. I have not traveled much and that makes me sad.

  • @matryoshkadoll Fx for a good LP length for you!

@LJMoon6 I know when I first started ttc I was shocked at how emotional of a process it is. Sorry things are tough for you right now. Traveling to the south pole sounds amazing and I loved your pics! I only lived in Scotland for six months, but I really loved it there.

@jsnakehole I fully support skipping work meetings. Do something fun instead. :) Spain is totally awesome. I’ve been back for a vacation once since studying there, and I’d love to go again.

@jaylii Yay for time with YH tonight! Anything fun planned, or just staying in. Sadly I just got new tires for my old car, not a new car. I wish I could afford one! I think I’d go for a Subaru or Honda CRV. Something than can handle snow better than my Accord!

@SkilledSailor I’m sorry you had to bug your clients to pay up! That’s no fun. I can’t wait to hear about the concert tonight though! I’ve been wanting to go see them as well, but MH isn’t into it. I’m feeling a bit better about this cycle. I’m not temping for the first time in about 8 months, so that’s been nice.

@kiwi2628 Fx for your beta! And I’m with you on traveling. I can’t stand tour groups or anything like that. I want to actually see wherever it is I’m traveling!

@melbel0824 The Bahamas is beautiful! Which island did you go to? I was on Grand Bahama for a vacation years ago.

@kobrien827 I am the same way with self-control around eating while ttgp. It’s very frustrating.

Fav Quote: The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return

  • @darkstar42 We're staying in tonight. We're in the middle of a winter storm and getting 6 inches through the evening. My commute home should be a blast (insert eye roll here). Oh and I'd love to get a new car too but MH is the one who really needs a new one right now. We're just dragging our feet because he works from home so isn't driving a ton.
  • @jaylii Since your H mostly works from home maybe you could get a new car and he could take your current one?

@darkstar42 Do you have friends that would go with you? I've been wanting to see them for years. I've never heard anyone say anything bad about one of their shows. Glad you're feeling a bit better about this cycle. Y'all are really inspiring me to not temp this TWW.
  • ***lurking from wto****
@SkilledSailor - enjoy TSO tonight! I would love to see them in concert!

  • @SkilledSailor Ha, guess I didn't really want to ask him. I was the last one that got a new car and he's been driving my college girl Honda Civic (complete with sorority stickers in the windows) for the last five years. Kind of feel like he deserves a new car, but I do drive more. Hmmm
  • Month/Cycle: 1/1 TTA until March, learning cycles and getting to know everyone.

    CD/DPO: 17/1

    Typical LP Length: 14

    Timing: TTA

    Testing: NA

R/R: Rave, ovulated day 16, +OPK and temp shift. I just started OPKs. Rant, Anyone else get sore breasts DPO 1?

    CS/Q: Nothing exciting.

GTKY: What is the farthest you've ever been from home? Living in Iowa either California or Florida.
  • @darkstar42 I'm so impressed you got your tires on before the storm
@LJMoon6 thanks for the pics and stories, that's insane you've been to the South Pole. I've never heard from anyone who has been there. In Thailand the food was the best part for me!
@jsnakehole DH and I really want to go to Israel when it is safer
@jaylii Third culture kids are amazing, we have considered jobs that travel like that
    @kiwi2628  I can't imagine that hiking situation in a Bosnia :/
@kobrien827 I loved Thailand and we would probably even go back again rather than to a new country. I have been indulging so much too! I checked in on that health thread a while back and it's just been downhill from there.
