Finally over the stomach flu/UTI I had so emotionally and physically doing SOOOOO much better. Yesterday we found out we are having a little girl so that’s our excitement!! Wooo!
Just starting to get ready for our trip to CA for the holidays. We're going to be at my mom's for 3 weeks! Woohoo! We have always flown with Virgin America, but they merged with Alaska Airlines, so sadly they no longer fly out of the international terminal at JFK which has a milllllion food options, and now they fly out of terminal 7, which has nooooo food options. So I'm trying to brainstorm what I can get through security to keep a vegetarian semi-picky pregnant woman happy on a flight that's roughly 7pm-1am ET. I hate sandwiches that aren't made-5-minutes-ago fresh, also hate salads that have been pre-dressed, but I can't bring the dressing through security. Le sigh. Will continue to brainstorm...
Doing good! Food options are slightly expanding. As in, a few real foods. Not processed crap. So it helps alittle. otherwise, trying to get ready for Christmas. Crazy to think that after the new year, we'll be close to half way done! Whaaaat?!
@doxiemoxie212 are picky on dressings? Can you do the single serving closed pouches of dressing?

@catlady1215 I really only will use dressings I make myself and it's really more about the amount of liquid I can bring through security. I guess I could separate them out into a million little pouches.... meh, though.
@catlady1215 You made my heart skip a beat about being halfway done so soon! I don't feel ready yet!! Also I definitely feel you on very limited eating options. Nothing sounds good, and this baby apparently really wants me to be a vegetarian. I barely eat any meat anymore.
Things are going pretty well for me. Still losing weight though. I'm working through the holidays and just want things to settle down. December is a pretty busy month at the zoo and I love the super quiet days in January/February. Right now I'm just so stressed about these fires! We can see the smoke billowing from our bedroom window and I keep refreshing the calfire page for evacuation updates. I really hope we don't have to evacuate.. And I was planning on starting my Christmas baking today, but that's out the window. We're just sitting here with all our important things packed, waiting to see if we have to leave or not.

I was having such a hard week mentally. DD has been through the roof crazy, and *TW* tomorrow would have been our second baby’s due date had we not lost it *TW* so that’s been weighing on me too. Borrowed a Doppler from my cousin last night and I feel sooo much better now that I’ve heard baby’s heartbeat. I know that hearing the heartbeat doesn’t always mean that things are okay, but it just gave me some much needed peace of mind. ALSO, I am feeling movement!! Felt baby for the first time on Monday but wasn’t completely convinced, but I’ve felt little flutters every day since!
@boymama29 yeah SD. We live in North county off the 78 so it's a little too close for comfort. Still out of the path for now, but apparently the wind is changing directions tonight so it could impact the movement of the fire. And it's still 0% contained! Hopefully you're far enough away to be safe!

Nothing new this week. I have my 16 week appointment next week, which I'm looking forward too. I hate this time period where there are no appointments, yet you can't feel the baby. It makes me nervous.
FX you don't have to evacuate @Amphibious22 @boymama congrats on being a girlmama this time!! Hopefully you are out of the fire path too! @marcus7676@catlady1215 the doppler was the best purchase I made during my last pregnancy. I was on the fence about it until one of the moms in my last group mentioned that they use it to help their older child connect with the baby. If you are considering having another one in a couple years, it may be something that you can use for family bonding in addition to putting your mind at ease. I also used it when I hadn't felt the baby more for a little while during 3rd trimester with DD (and typically as soon as I'd hear the HB DD would wake up and move around for an hour). Lastly, I just want to complain again that I haven't gotten my NIPT results back yet! I called the office yesterday and left a message for my results and still nothing. I had my blood drawn on the 22nd- so today will be 10 business days since the draw (if you don't include the 22nd as a business day). JUST GIVE ME MY RESULTS!!
Thinking of you all who are close to the fires, I hope you stay safe and there is no need to evacuate *fingers crossed*
No appointments this week nor anything exciting. It should have been exciting because I was supposed to be on my Caribbean cruise this week but obviously with Zika we cancelled. Still slightly pouty about it, is that wrong? It seems so silly since we cancelled for an extra special, wonderful reason. Other than that I quit my job in August and since then life has been pretty boring except thinking about this little girl growing all day
@bkrahn Ah I'm sorry to hear that, that must be tough
I got my results!! Happy Healthy baby BOY! @becca_123 that does suck that your vacation was canceled... no matter the reason.. it's cold and the Caribbean is warm... so I'm with you on pouting.
I feel like I have nothing exciting going on. We just bought a house in July, so money is tight this Christmas. I hate not working and bringing in any income. And now with #3 on the way, it’s not even like I can go back to work because daycare would be so expensive. /endpityparty
Sorry I've been MIA. I got really sick on top of being pregnant and haven't been able to do anything other than get home and go to bed. missed 3 days of work this week alone. On top of that DH got a man cold and DD just got her first high fever+cold. I've been sick since Thanksgiving and finally went to the Dr.
@becca_123 Sorry about your trip. I know how you feel. we were planning to head to Mexico or Carribbean for our honeymoon in March and now we have limited options bc of Zika.
Praying for those near wildfires. So scary!
I kind of turned a corner with morning sickness but getting sick did not help.
We are going to find out what we're having on Sunday! We are keeping it a secret till Christmas Eve when we surprise our families. it's going to be so hard for me to keep my mouth shut at work and with my mom. I also have a Dr.s appt next week.
First time posting in this thread, as I originally thought my due date was June 18, only to have it changed to May 26 when I had my first ultrasound! Still hanging out here since I’ve already gotten to know you ladies.
I’m 16 weeks today. Had a 15-week appointment Wednesday and all was well - heartbeat, movement, etc. I’m taking a calcium supplement and a baby aspirin in addition to prenatals. Aspirin because my BP was “concerning” at my 40-week check with DD (wasn’t pre-e, but they want to keep an eye on it). Calcium because DD is 13 months and I breastfed her til Halloween and am pregnant again - midwife wants to be sure this mama’s bones stay nice abs strong!
Finally, feeling like a normal person again! Nausea is almost all gone, appetite is better and I’m not as bone tired as I was a few weeks ago. Hoping I start feeling consistent movement soon. Felt a few flutters here and there in last week and a half. Didn’t feel anything with DD until 19/29 weeks.
My concern today is keeping DD entertained. We are snowed in Atlanta - I’ve literally never seen this much snow here! And the ice we had in 2014 doesn’t count - this is that perfect, fluffy white snow you get up north. See pic of DD’s first snow adventure!

My business trip went really well. I didn't have any morning sickness and since I wasn't drinking, I made sure to indulge in some more expensive food than I normally would and my boss didn't bat an eye. I ate the crap out of some Chilean sea bass to make up for not being able to have a bourbon with dinner.
Had my 3 hour glucose test on Saturday morning. I only have one good vein so they used that one for the first two draws. The second one hurt so much I literally cried after the phlebotomist left the room (there was "digging" to find the vein). After that, she decided to use surface veins in my other arm and that went a lot better. Still anxiously awaiting the results. Pass = retest at 28 weeks. Fail = type 2 diabetes diagnosis
@Amphibious22 That's terrifying! I hope you don't have to evacuate. Stay safe!
@marcus7676 I was just telling DH that last night! Each little update helps (like getting a dating ultrasound to confirm there is a tiny human in there, hearing the heartbeat at appointments, etc) but it feels like I'm always waiting until the next sign that everything is okay. I feel like I'm showing so much earlier than with DS, but I'm only feeling occasional flutters that usually end up just being gas. :-/ I'm glad your flutters seem to be baby related.
@jsl82 Congratulations on the little boy! Boys are so much fun! We'd like a little girl since we already have a boy, but secretly I won't be disappointed if we have another boy.
