@cups4 happy birthday!! I hope your DS is feeling better!
@holli0801@rachelg777 my coworkers are still saying I don’t look pregnant, and I’m getting slightly annoyed. I feel like I look pregnant, so why can’t everyone see it?! I’ll try to post a HDBD pic this week so everyone can tell me I look pregnant!
Me: 31 DH: 32 Dating since: 11/17/2001 Married: 9/26/2009 TTC: June 2016
Today was my first day back to work after an 11 day staycation. I felt like I had a months worth of work to catch up on! I was ready for a nap halfway through the day
I am beyond exhausted this Monday. But I was super proud of myself for stopping to get groceries, including a bunch of veggies (which I've hated since getting pregnant) and made a chicken quinoa Greek salad. As soon as I sat down to eat I didn't want it so instead of eating I'm on here now lol. Why is eating so difficult?!?
Also, @ivyvines6 I wish the whole board could be separate for regulars and not include drive bys LOL. If only.......also, yay for your first appointment!! @glitzandglitter congratulations on finishing grad school!!! That's awesome!
Me, 35 Hubs, 32 Married June 2012 BFP June 2013- blighted ovum, D&C Aug 2013 BFP Oct 2013- twins! A&H born May 2014 BFP Aug 2017- EDD 5/8/17
I finally started telling my co- workers I'm pregnant. I decided to own how awkward it is too. They said they're glad I went with awkwardly saying it cause they were thinning I should lay off the pasta.
I carry huge and in oat pregnancies I was regularly asked if it was twins and if I was due tomorrow when I was 5months along. This time if someone asks if I'm having twins I'm planning to say it's triplets.
@nanifrog No, they are about $6200. We had our house built, so didn't pay the full tax amount last year and knew it would be short. So they gave us an amount to save every month (which we did), but it wasn't enough. We live in a PID (public improvement district) and they didn't include that tax in the calculation so we were way short even with what we had saved
What is up with people saying you don't look pregnant? Such an obnoxious comment. I also hate after I had a baby when people say I don't look like I had a baby (only an issue with my second, I very much looked like I did for a looooong time after my first). BELIEVE ME, I HAD A BABY. I think I will ask if they want to hear about how if people do that to me again.
I never look pregnant. I just look fatter. I never get a round belly and I don't typically gain much since I'm morbidly obese to begin with. Yet another reason to hate being fat.
I was awake all night last night with GI issues and terrible nausea. I think the popcorn I ate before bed just laid in my stomach and wouldn't digest. To say I am feeling miserable would be an understatement.
Also glad I finally checked out a random thread. I didn't realize it was just chatter. I had avoided them before since they become so large so quickly.
I think people mean it nicely. Like, "You look so fit!" or meaning you look the same/haven't gained weight yet. I take it as a compliment if people say I don't look pregnant. On the flip side, I've had a few friends comment on me having a bump already and I was like "Oh, I didn't think I had one yet."
Everyone responds differently to stuff like that though, so people just shouldn't comment on other's bodies (whether they are growing tiny humans or not).
So true @silverhope. I am way more bothered when they tell me I don't look like I've had a baby. I know they mean it with good intentions but when I'm feeling super gigantic, exhausted, not sleeping, spewing milk everywhere, etc. Someone told me I looked like I lost weight when I was like 10 weeks this time and not feeling thin (and definitely not losing) and I wasn't so sad.
As I was running after my toddler on Sunday this one busy body asked me if I was having twins. So seriously not okay to ask that!!! I know I have a big belly, but I'm a big girl. Leave me alone and let me gestate in peace!!
I announced to my big client today that I'm pregnant. The only two comments I got right away aside from the usual congratulations were one person saying I don't look pregnant and another saying I look too young to have a baby. I mostly just laugh at the first because everyone else I told said they figured it out long before I said anything so I'm pretty sure I do! But I was rather pleased about the other given that I'm a bare month away from qualifying as advanced maternal age
Someone at work who didn't know I was pregnant asked me yesterday "how is your health?"....and I said "well... I am pregnant and nauseous...so hanging in there" and she was like "ohhhhhh that's why you lost so much weight!"
I mean...I guess I appreciate that people notice that I lost so much weight this pregnancy, but man....I wish the weight loss was for other circumstances.
i think the "you don't even look pregnant" comments are annoying because as others posted below.....every starts showing at different times and you don't just all of a sudden look pregnant at the drop of a BFP
@ivyvines6, through lurking like a major creep, I have noticed that the regulars of another BMB created a "hidden" u/s under a random thread title in hopes the randoms would stay out. Perhaps that's an option? I didn't pay much attention after I realized what it was so I don't know how well it worked, but I would guess fairly well since randoms and drivebys only seem to look for key words like "ultrasound", "girl/boy", "bump cream"...
I think the best thing to say to a pregnant woman is, "you look great". I think more people should recognize that as an option.
Guyz...we just bought a garage door. Big purchase. I think it's smart cause the correct one is 60 years old and not insulated and he springs are no longer working and not safe. I'm hoping it'll make the playroom and bedrooms warmer. But whoa. I really wanted to have a lot saved so that I can take the max mat leave and we can afford a nanny, but that might not happen.
@nanifrog yay for a new garage door. The springs on garage doors scare the crap out of me after reading a thread on Reddit about how dangerous garage door springs can be. Who knew?? That and power washers. Like I needed more stuff to worry about.
My allergies have been so. Much. Worse. since I hit the second trimester. I’ve been taking all of the medications approved by my midwife and I still can’t be downstairs more than 5 minutes without my airway closing (asthma) and my nose turning into a faucet. It really really sucks. I’m going crazy.
Can’t find the crying thread because I’m crying so hard reading birth story threads on other months. I am not sure what about them is making me cry but omg the water works.
Also if anyone wants a good laugh/confusion go to Nov BMB and the thread toward the bottom of page 1 by a rando Knottie is titled “why am I still being sent home.” It’s so bizarre.
Our admin person was sending out emails to our tax clients to make sure we had updated phone numbers. The email was something along the lines of "can you please provide a current number so we can update our records". One lady responded yesterday with just "No, I will not". Ummm.....okay?
People can't help themselves when it comes to amking insensitive comments about pregnant women @ivyvines6. You're awesome for growing another human being!
@sparklingdiamond I found that getting the billing code from my insurance company helped me make sure each appointment or procedure that I was worried wouldn't be covered, was billed accurately and covered by my insurance. It can be a real pain to get the billing codes though. Just a heads up. I wish you lots of luck with it all!
This week has brought me more nausea than any other week. I am miserable, so I'm thinking I need to call my doctor to see what I can get to help me. I am taking a B complex vitamin (per the recommendation of my former doctor with my previous pregnancy), but it's not enough. I hope none of you are dealing with this level of nausea as well!
@molly1108-2 how dare they! I worked for a place that required some of the staff to utilize their social media to attract customers, but they had Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest blocked. It made no sense...
@bjkay22 I’ll be checking that out in just a minute!
@sparklingdiamond I’m pretty sure work emails don’t work that way? Maybe they prefer not to respond to that many people with their private info...
Someone at work brought in a beautiful tray of homemade Christmas treats and left them in the kitchen. My co-worker and I just grabbed a few. They are seriously awful. Look amazing, taste terrible.

It's official. I've lost it.

@sandbar517 - thank you! I am so relieved to be done.
@sparklingdiamond - adulting sucks. I was in such a hurry to grow up... if only I knew what I was really in for
@molly1108-2 How rude of them! I always have to use the app because my work has always had it blocked
@bjkay22 - I read that one the other day. I agree. Bizarre for sure...
@LCKM - sorry about the nausea. I hope you feel better soon. Also, I'm with @mileswithmyles Phenergan is a wonder drug!
