@SkilledSailor we love Brooklyn 99! It's extra funny for me as a New Yorker, and the niece of an NYPD officer. I think Doug Judy is one of my favorite characters of all time (and the name of my future cat).

Also just going to keep posting this evening after some quality BMB lurking. I think we need a GTKY what my TTC self is eating. Because as a lady who will have official CD1 tomorrow and MH is out of town, I can tell you it’s not good...
@jrm_14 I am glad we aren't the only ones who celebrate our pups birthdays! My family thinks I'm crazy for doing it!
@SkilledSailor I'm new to the boards but I'd love to hear more about this Happy Hour - I could use a drink after the week I had!
@blackhottamales I agree - although to be fair, "anything I can scavenge with minimal effort" probably won't be a super helpful contribution for others!
I'm hosting a late Thanksgiving dinner tonight (I'm Canadian so we had our Thanksgiving a few weekends ago). And my sister's birthday was yesterday so she has requested a fancy cake (I have taken a bunch of cake decorating courses over the years and make them as a hobby for friends/family). So that means I was up at 3:30 this morning to get the Turkey on to brine and am now avoiding having to finish up some gumpaste bits for the cake. Who needs sleep?!?
@elolin that reminds me I need to start planning our thanksgiving menu. We’ll probably do a Friendsgiving with the folks that stay home (we’ve got a lot of Navy friends).
As for a signature cocktail, I’ve been loving spiked apple cider. I like mine with bourbon but flavored vodka would be yummy too.

@jrm_14. Love it! @SkilledSailor. Yes we need to...when?? @blackhottamales. I'm always kinda jealous the BMB have that thread... or maybe just sad that I don't get participate in it... so we should totally should have one. Right before and during AF I eat all.the.things!
My week in review: (being a total whiny AW) Dog barf, run away cat, cat barf, bloody cat poop not in the litter box, bronchitis, broke TWO Scentsy warmers, and an unexpected $400 car repair. And The vaccum just broke. Greeeat. Even though it has been a shitastic couple of weeks, I know that I am inherently blessed, my family loves me, and my mom is on her way over. Ugggggh.
@blackhottamales I love the idea of a What my TTC self is eating thread!
@jrm_14 sorry about the crappy week. Hopefully the weekend gets better. Loved the pic of your birthday pup.
My randoms: I really want to be productive today, but it's a rainy day here and I drank too much wine last night...so....I'm having a hard time motivating myself. My mom will be visiting us tomorrow and I haven't seen her in a while so looking forward to that.
Just spent my whole morning slinging popcorn and snow cones at my school's carnival. DH came to help with it for a little while, so I think I've earned some brownie points with my administration.

@jrm_14 weeks like that where you just can’t win are so frustrating. That always seems to happen to me when DH leaves for work. Suddenly ALL the shit hits the fan.

Random...I cannot access The Bump on mobile or my computer...but I can on MH's Mac. But only if I go to TTGP not logged in, click on "New Discussion" then it prompts me to log in, then I can go back to TTGP after logging in and all the notifications and the comment box shows up. Otherwise, on my own computer and mobile, I can read what everyone says and not comment...the box doesn't appear. Anyone know the secret to fixing it? When I try the log out, click on New Discussions thing on my computer, it doesn't prompt me to log back in it takes me back to TB home, so that doesn't work for me. SIGH. Sidenote: using Macs when you are used to PCs is hard. Two fingers to scroll down? WHERE IS MY DAMN SCROLL BAR. And I have to click instead of double tapping the mouse. Sigh.
@SmashJam I have a Mac at home and a PC at school. I'm fine within an hour of getting to work/getting home, but I spend at least a few minutes of my day forgetting how to use each computer.
After tonight's pasta that I'm making, I'm going to go gluten free. I love gluten, and I'll still make gluten stuff for DH and when I bake for other people. I need to stop denying that there's a link between my diet and my health/fertility, and just bite the bullet. I'll miss you, gluten.
Me: 28 DH: 29 Married: 6/2016 TTC #1: 12/2016 Benched due to deployment- Off the bench 8/8/17!
@smashjam That sounds super annoying! I've had to log back into the app a couple of times but haven't had any issues on my laptop. I think others have been mentioning similar issues. Hopefully someone will have an answer for you.
@jsnakehole Has gluten been linked to fertility issues? At least they make some pretty good gluten free products now. Do you have one of those kitchen tools that turns zucchini into noodles?
@smashjam The Bump app has been giving people trouble all week. I was having no trouble until yesterday, when I updated all my apps, and now The Bump app won't work for me. But I have no trouble on my computer (PC). I hope they get it fixed soon - many of my Bump friends are mobile only and have not been on in days...and I need updates!
@CraftyG Yes! DH and I are Walking Dead fans (although I'm starting to be "over it" - hoping this season will be good). We usually watch on Mondays while we eat dinner on the couch. I'll be dodging spoilers all day tomorrow
@SkilledSailor There have been studies that show that 'inflammation' caused by gluten can potentially effect fertility. I don't know how true that is, but it can't hurt to try. I've had a bad stomach since puberty, in addition to my now increasingly longer cycles, and gluten is the one thing I haven't tried cutting, since I'm not celiac.
We got one of those things to make veggie noodles when we got married, but we never used it. I'll have to start now.

@jsnakehole I've been Gluten Free for 7 years now and the difference is amazing. I'm not officially celiac but all my immune markers are much better, inflammation in my digestive system so much better. If I eat something wrong boy do I know about it! I'm also lactose free as i have problems there. Oh and sorbitol - I stopped that only 3 years ago and within 10 days my skin became clear for the first time since I was a teenager. I was checked for fructose but came out clear there. Its amazing what things might cause inflammatory reactions in different people.
Note: my immune system is a little but crazy, so most people don't have all those effects, but worth asking/looking at others if eliminating the one thing doesn't completely solve the issues.

@elolin@CraftyG DH brined a turkey for the first time last year and it was the best I’ve ever had! I told him he’s in charge of it every year now.
@jsnakehole good luck going gluten free! I’ve been trying to cut my out certain foods and it’s so difficult. I went dairy-free in the beginning of the year but fell off the bandwagon after surgery. I’m trying to get back to that and just picked up a paleo cookbook. FX I can stick to it!
@darkstar42 lol I thought the same thing! Maybe you can bribe a turkey before roasting it to make sure it tastes delicious? @jsnakehole I would have such a hard time giving up gluten...I hope it helps you - definitely worth a shot. I love my veggie noodle maker!
I've been Gluten Free for 7 years now and the difference is amazing. I'm not officially celiac but all my immune markers are much better, inflammation in my digestive system so much better. If I eat something wrong boy do I know about it!
What we have found is I can handle "Dinkel" - not sure what the English equivalent is but the flour is much better than most GF versions. And some of the bread almost like "real" bread! We have Dinkel pasta too which is good enough compared to normal pasta for DH as well. Pizza bases are tricky as you can't get the same crust varieties.
