WTF to my weird pregnancy nose. I feel like I'm smelling a phantom smell that doesn't exist. Like, a rotten, dirty diaper smell. No one else seems to notice it and I keep smelling it in random places. Scented candles are the best right now.
@orbmaker, right there with ya! Every time I walk into my office I have a sneezing fit. I think it's because I'm allergic to work... The itching eyes and sniveling when trying to converse with customers is getting really annoying though.
WTF to one of my coworkers who has called me 5 times today basically because he doesn't want to apply any thought to the steps involved in doing his job. Instead, he's calling me (and others) asking us to tell him exactly how to do his job. The kicker is, his questions which are barely related to my responsibilities/knowledge have taken me about 5-10 min to figure out because it's logical/common sense. And this is areas of the company I don't touch. It should take him half that since I spend have the time trying to find where the relevant info is and he has it in front of him. He literally spends more time arguing with us than it would take for him to just try a few different options and see what works/do a simple ctrl-f to find info.
WTF I thought we were going to be able to move in to a rent house close to work at the beginning of October, but now it's supposed to be towards the end of Oct? (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻) We are still driving 3hrs total every day going back and forth to work. It's killing me!!!
@day38 I'd just start telling him things like, "I don't know. Maybe try ctrl+f?" And then refuse to do anything more. Just keep repeating that you don't know. He'll eventually decided you're useless and leave you alone.
@HappyMonkey817 Ugh. That stinks. If you research all of the possible reasons for a regression and come up with nothing, my cousin's kid had a regression when his brother was born. So they had him 'earn' diapers by cleaning the baseboards. (Hopefully they also coupled that with giving him the one on one attention he was craving but that part I don't know. ) He was cured pretty quickly.

WTF to my daughter, who was doing great with potty training but is now completely regressing for no reason I can figure out.
I'm scared this will happen with my DD. Fingers crossed but everything seems to have been too easy getting her potty trained! She is 22 mo and has recently started showing some terrible two attitude so I'm hoping that won't be one of her next acts. Throwing her food and spoons on the floor are a whole other story and I can't seem to discipline in a way that works! So frustrating!
@kiki75 I found the ctrl-f after I got off the phone with him - so all I had told him was I can't tell you which column in your excel template to use since I've never seen it, but if it's not obvious, just try different options in our testing software.
Basically a non answer and do your own job. Afterwards, out of curiosity, I spent some time trying to see how easy/difficult it was and I literally spent more time trying to find his template than figuring out how to populate it (and it was my first time looking at it).
He's called 3 of my other coworkers and asked them equally asinine questions. Everyone is fed up. Problem is, he reports to a different person than we do (his boss is actually our boss's boss, but my boss is a higher level than him - he's probably equal to me and the reporting structure is just odd due to the timing of people getting hired). What it boils down to is that the people being directly impacted by him can't do much about it.
I got "Hesplained" or whatever that Scary Mommy term is. I did a giant presentation last year on a tech protocol that would save us a ton of money and at the same time push us forward technology-wise. At the time, my idea basically got poo-pood and thumbsed down as not feasible.
Fast forward to one year later, and New Guy sends out an email outlining my EXACT PROTOCOL, down to the wire, and is super excited about the fact that HE ALONE discovered it. They are moving forward with it. I'm happy that the idea will work. I think New Guy genuinely did not know about my presentation and that this was not a new concept for us, so I'm not exactly upset with him. But I am pretty upset that the idea was shot down when it came from me but is generating much excitement coming from New Guy.
I was able to communicate to all the right people somewhat of a reminder of where this idea originally came from and said that I was excited that they are moving in that direction after all, so I think I made my point. I just still have feels.

WTF the the nausea that magically returned today. although I'm still low energy...i haven't been light headed or nauseous for about 2-3 weeks now... until today
Also - to whomever mentioned fall allergies.. yes! just starting to hit me and its been brutal
@bettyvonsomethingstein That's so aggravating. Sometimes it's a gender thing. Sometimes it's just a new person thing. Kind of like how my mom and I can give my sister spot-on advice and she's all "cool, but nah" and then a relative stranger can say the same exact thing and she's all "this stranger told me this! It's brilliant!" It's so obnoxious.

@HappyMonkey817, how long have you been potty training for? My DS regressed around 6 weeks. Like totally forgot he wasn't wearing diapers anymore. I don't think he went on the potty at all. And then a day or two later he was totally fine again. A lot of people I've talked to had a similar experience around the 6 week mark. Hopefully her regression ends quickly!!

It's super obnoxious. I'm also on the fence over whether it was because he is a dude, because he's new, or because he's from the Big Office and I'm in the Redheaded Stepchild Office. Either way, I feel better for having pushed back.

Wtf to the stupid painters painting our new house. They originally said they'd be finished by the week of September 4, and they're still not finished. Every time I ask when they'll be done it's, "oh we've been really busy. We'll finish on Friday." and it hasn't happened yet! How about you get really busy painting OUR house?
Also wtf to our landlord who wants to show our condo on Monday but needs one of us to be there to let him in or we need to leave a spare key somewhere for him. You own the property and don't have a copy of the key...? Wtf.
@stlbuckeye132 I totally get the painting thing. We are supposed to be getting new windows in our house. The contractor was supposed to start the end of July and might be starting the end of next week.
@megpeg ugh that is so obnoxious! Must be nice to be able to give out dates for deadlines that mean absolutely nothing. Hopefully your windows getting installed soon!
I was going upstairs to bes thinking...wow..no wtf today. And then I layed in bed. My SO has no idea how to use a blanket. Instead of pulling it up from the top to cover his shoulder, he pulls diagonal from the bottom of my side. So it's flipped over. Leaving me with a top sheet. Yah...no. I swear...
@bettyvonsomethingstein I'm glad you found a good way to tell them that of course you think that's a great idea, that's why you suggested the same thing months ago.

I'm pretty sure that one of my coworkers is into erotic asphyxiation. We regularly have online meetings. Months back, he showed up to one with a red welt running across his neck. One of my coworkers asked what happened to his neck and I don't even remember the terrible lie he cooked up but it was bad (all of his lies are always terrible). Enough that coworker who asked and I were having a hard time not being obvious with our eye rolling. Then this week? Same thing. I asked what happened and the lies were just as bad. 1. Act surprised like he doesn't know what I'm talking about. 2. "Oh, I shaved in a hurry this morning. Must've gotten razor burn." Hahahaha. Uh, buddy, most guys I know shave chin to chest instead of ear to ear. But, cool story. A year or so I got a weird autoreply text from him saying that "Master is busy right now" and he blamed it on a new phone. This is also the guy who cheated on his wife for years, using business trips to do it, and sometimes using company money.
And, in another meeting another coworker made a crappy remark about my team and while I seethed but kept my expression neutral he felt like it was appropriate to then call me out and say, "And Kiki's not even smiling!" No. I'm not. Because I'm pissed. To which a new employee chimed in that he thought I was just annoyed with the meeting running long. Nope. I'm pissed about an inappropriate comment. Thanks for playing, boys.

@kiki75, my eyeballs bulged through my entire reading of that post. I think he probably enjoys the rush from people asking questions or him messing up (like that text). Ew.

My wtf *potential TW* we retained a lawyer after everything with our daughter because multiple people called it preventable and we were urged to by our funeral home director. Anyway... he's a very well recommended lawyer and a very nice man.
We we had a conference call in August (beginning) and he said he was interviewing medical experts - that he would have one by the absolute latest, last week of august. I emailed him first week of September (09/05) and he said he was away from the office and he would get back to us shortly. I had H email him and he said he's narrowed it down to 3 that he'd like us to meet and told us we could arrange a meeting in the coming weeks.
I hate feeling like I'm bugging the guy. I know he's busy. But WTF, how long have you had it narrowed down and why are we having to pull it out of you.

@syssa-o, unfortunately you will find everything about the legal system to go at a snail's pace. I can only imagine the emotional toll it can take on a person. It sucks and it's not fair, but everything that goes into a lawsuit makes the slow pace a reality.
Don't be afraid to bug your attorney if you have questions, but also try not to be too frustrated. A lot of things go on behind the scenes that you'll never see.
So so many hugs. Someone close to me is involved in a giant civil suit presently and it has actually made its way to the trial stage. I'm stressed for them, so I can only imagine what it feels like to be in their/your shoes.

@bettyvonsomethingstein I went into this knowing it would take a very long time. I am currently an unlicensed paralegal (since this is my third pregnancy in 3 years, I stopped paying the annual $1000 licensing fee till I'm ready to jump back in) and have told myself a million times that everything will take forever. It is so much harder when you are the one waiting for the emails though.
The statute of limitations requires our suit is filed before the two year anniversary of the incident. So this means that we will have to take action before the end of July of '18.
Im also aware that he has other clients who are on pressing timelines. Because I know he is busy I hate being that person who emails too often....even though he encourages us to email him whenever. My wtf is mainly to do with the fact that he couldn't have narrowed down the professionals 2 weeks ago... or he could have done it yesterday for all I know. I guess I just like feeling involved lol
@kiki75 Your WTF is my fave. Can we have a thread dedicated to this one employee...and you update when needed. Kidding...kind of. I love that you got an auto reply about "Master being busy".
1- "snissing" is my new favorite word and 2- is anyone else having some stupid round ligament pain? I'm 14 weeks (which I feel like is too early for RLP) but I don't know why else I've had this "runners cramp" type pain in my side most of the day
@baggles05, definitely googled RLP today to figure out if that's what I'm happening. 14+3 today and definitely having it off and on. One of the sites I read said second trimester, right around 14 weeks, is most likely time for it to begin.
