Being named Teacher of the Year at my school three years ago. I had a pretty rough start to teaching and it took me a few years to find my groove.

GTKY: What is your greatest accomplishment?
I don't feel very accomplished. I mean, others might think differently about me, but personally, I'm just living a pretty boring life.

@princesslockness I'm due to finally get my bachelor's in May, after almost 20 years of on and off college. I'll probably take more classes afterwards to maybe get into the education field.

@lalala2004 we don't have to "schedule" sex per se, but it's definitely not as spontaneous as it once was. If we weren't ttc, we would probably go back to our once-a-month routine. I agree that getting baby out of the bed might help. Once we transitioned DS to the crib a couple months ago, we HIO much more frequently. Funny thing is though, it's rarely in the bed...

@br0co1ii It took some work and I had to switch out of an education major my last semester, but I did it. ABCTE program got me into my classroom, and since then its been wonderful. Go for it!

@lalala2004 We have an unofficial schedule. Days when I'm coaching a game or H is putting in over 10 hours are off limits. So we have 1 rotating week day and weekends that are typically ok. Sometimes after E wakes me up I wake him up, and sometimes I'm a bad mom by sticking the kids in front of Sophia the First for 1-2 episodes so we can get it in.

@lalala2004, I feel like sex was hard until lDD turned 2 then it was easier to find time.  Morning sex used to be easiest, put the kids in front of the TV and lock the door...

Any thoughts about this cycle? Not really. I'm getting migraines frequently, which I also got during the cycle when I got pregnant with my first. So either super interesting or a heck of a coincidence.

GTKY: What is your greatest accomplishment? Well, I think I have several that mean different things. I got my masters degree in social work. Which shows hard work and dedication. My pregnancy with my daughter was also very stressful as she was diagnosed with a heart condition at 27 weeks and I almost had to have an emergency c-section at 29 weeks. So, being able to stay pregnant until 39 weeks when I went into labor on my own was a huge success.

lol at you guys putting the kids in front of the TV and locking the door. That's a great idea! We tried doing that the other night while DD was still awake in her bedroom, but we have a small house and it was not at all romantic trying to get it on while she was loudly singing nursery rhymes. We gave up and did it the next night. 

@princesslockness Hope your Mabis arrives soon! Great job finishing your bachelor's! What games do you coach? It was you that was asking last week about getting your kid to go #2 on the potty, right? We finally broke down and got DD a toddler potty (before that we had just been using a kid seat on the regular toilet) and she loves it! We've had tons of success with it this week. I wish we had gotten one sooner! (ETA: should have tagged @jnmiller324 about the potty training.)
@lalala2004 That's so awesome that you were teacher of the year, especially with your rough start. That must have been such a wonderful accomplishment! What grade do you teach? I'm sure you've said it before but I can't remember. We don't really have to schedule sex, but I have to plan it all day in my head so that I know I'll make time for it and will be in the mood. Otherwise it's really easy to just say "tomorrow!"

@holly321 GL tomorrow at the OBGYN! Keep us posted. Hope you get good news. Also, great job being a momma to two autistic kids. That's quite an accomplishment as it must be really hard work. Sorry that it was a rough day. What do you like to do in the evenings to relax? Do your kids go to bed at a reasonable time?
@mrstmoose Wow, that is quite the success story about your pregnancy. How is your DD now with her heart condition, if you don't mind me asking?

Any thoughts about this cycle? Really really really trying not to get my hopes up. Hoping that upcoming vacation will be good for me so I can relax some and just have fun without thinking about TTC.

GTKY: Not sure if it's my greatest accomplishment ever, but right now I'd say it's that I was promoted earlier this year to a team lead position. I never ever expected to be in this type of position because I've never seen myself as particularly smart or good at what I do. It's been really hard learning to make decisions all by myself, but overall I think it's going really well and I've been growing a lot. (Although lately I feel like I've been making some mistakes, so I definitely am in need of a break.)

Any thoughts about this cycle? Just had surgery to remove endometriosis and scar tissue from my previous c-section, so I'm hoping we may be able to get pregnant on our own. Waiting to have my follow up with the doctor next week to discuss next steps.

@offtoneverland. I'm getting my business management degree, but will probably take some early childhood development classes afterwards. We'll see. 

And congrats on the promotion! I loved being a leader/manager before I moved away from my last job. I'm a control freak, so it was nice to get paid to be in charge of something. And yes, recognizing you need a break is key. Delegate something!

@offtoneverland I'm teaching 9th grade World Geography (part time) now, but I've taught 4th, 7th, and 6th (3 years) mostly Social Studies. 6th grade is my favorite (and what I taught when I was teacher is the year) although 9th grade has been growing on me. But that may just be because I taught most of these kids when they were in 6th!

@holly321 It is Biological Sciences: Encironmental studies. I was on my last semester before student teaching when a clerical error at the doctor turned my dad’s stage 4 Lupus into Stage 4 Leukemia. So I switched to a major that would get me out at the end of semester. About 2 weeks before graduation, the doc discovered the error, and we realized it was a nasty false alarm. BUT it was too late to switch back to bio ed and student teach.

@offtoneverland I currently coach 7th grade Volleyball, but Basketball is coming, and I coach&ref, and then ifs on to umping all the softball/baseball I can stand. It was not me asking about potty training. My at home daycare lady is going to do L and the other 2yo boy just before Christmas. So I’m going to follow her lead. My super sad attempt this summer was just going when he said he had to, and while that was 100% when he said it wasn’t that great.

@lalala2004 Our DS goes to sleep in a floor bed in his own room, but he usually wakes up middle of the night and then we bring him into bed with us for the rest of the night (it's just easiest that way). Our challenge has been trying to time sex so we catch the window of time when we are ready to go to bed, but before he has woken up. One time last cycle we missed the window and made up for it by waking up early and sneaking into his room for a quickie before he woke up. Definitely finding we have to try to schedule it and get more creative than before!

GTKY: What is your greatest accomplishment? A couple years ago I saw a need to improve things at work by organizing a new team. I vetted the idea with a few people and then worked with a mentor to develop a proposal to create the new workgroup with myself as the manager (I'd never been a leader before). It was accepted and I got to completely build the new team and it's worked out really well - love my job!

@lalala2004 We don't schedule sex, but we do find it a challenge to fit it in sometimes. Our main issue is fatigue. So lately it's just been "pizza" sex...aka: quickies. I've noticed that early morning sessions work out the best for us personally...Like 4am. It's torture, so I really hope I'm ktfu this cycle! Lol

GTKY: What is your greatest accomplishment

Getting chosen (gpa + research project competition placings + professor votes) as valedictorian of my radiology program. I over came a daily 104 mile roundtrip commute five days a week, two dh deployments during my program, raising a toddler, and living nowhere near family for support....I always considered myself stupid growing up, so this was my proudest moment I think.

@lalala2004 - When I try to schedule sex it usually backfires and doesn't happen, so I don't try that anymore. DSS is older, so our methods of getting sex in are easier and different than yours would be, though.

GTKY: What is your greatest accomplishment? Eventually I'll be able to say it's graduating with my degree, but at this point, I feel like it's just continuing to try for it! But really, I'm really glad that I've grown so much as a person over the past few years. I never would have said that I was unhappy about anything in my life and done something that made a difference about it until MH helped me get to that point. Between that and helping DSS grow in to the person he is today, I'd say those are my greatest accomplishments I can think of ATM.

@princesslockness Oops, sorry! It's so easy to get all the names here confused and I was too busy to go back and look. My bad! That's awesome that your day care is helping out with the potty training. Hopefully it goes well for you. We had a super sad attempt when DD was about 2 years old and it did not go well either. It's going much better at 3 years old though! (I checked and it was @jnmiller324 who was asking about potty training.) That's cool that you coach and ref! You must stay really active! That's crazy about the false alarm with your dad's health. How does that even happen?
@lalala2004 Teaching 9th grade sounds hard...all those hormones! I'm so glad that you're finding joy in it though. It must be a lot of fun to watch the kids grow up into "real" people.

@josie12367 Love your accomplishment too! Wow, we have so many accomplished ladies here. You had to work so hard for that with the long commute and YH's deployments. Way to go! You must have been so proud of yourself.

@offtoneverland It really has been cool. They come to 6th grade knowing nothing, and now that I have them in 9th they have so much more knowledge and skills. They ask me when we'll talk about North Korea, Europe, the Middle East, etc. It has me like

But I will say buying our first house and remodeling then moving across the state while keeping my marriage intact, keeping DS alive and happy, and only minorly loosing my shit on occasion during the process.

@offtoneverland she's an active 16 month old! Lol! She's great, she's no longer on medications and we are hoping and praying she outgrew it. There's a chance it can come back when she goes through big growth spurts (thinking around 5 and then puberty), but we will cross those bridges when they come.

@offtoneverland, thanks.  They used to go to bed for me pretty easy, but the last 2 week, I don't know what's going on.  As for relaxing, I don't know what I do.  I have been trying to make more time for myself that isn't just laying on a couch watching TV.  Hope you enjoy your vacation!

@holly321 Nothing wrong with relaxing on the couch watching TV. I love putting together jigsaw puzzles too. Sometimes it's really relaxing! Hope your kiddos get it together soon and start going to bed on time! DD has been staying up til 8:30 or 9 the past several weeks. Makes it so hard to get stuff done!
@mrstmooseThats awesome about your DD being so healthy. You have a great attitude about it. It would probably be easy to think about what *could* go wrong. Good for you for focusing on the here and now.
