This was weird! It placed me in Phoenix, AZ, and I did go to grad school there and live there for six years, but I'm from CA! I didn't think AZ influenced me that much.
So, I remember I took this in 2013, and it did say Bay Area, CA, which is accurate. I just took it again, and I think my answers have changed from living in DC and NY for so much longer, so now it thinks I'm from Las Vegas, which is inaccurate. Lol.
Mine's pretty spot on. Though it's not really fair once they ask the bubbler question. @doxiemoxie212, I also took that original one back several years ago. It was a graduate student's project at NC State. That one had more questions, and gave percentage confidence to much more precise areas (small towns for example). They got me to 96% confidence to the small town 20 mins from my parents house in the middle of a cornfield.
Interestingly, this one is much broader, and included Santa Rosa, CA. Not even close and never been there, but maybe it's because I'm now in AZ?
Montana was also pretty strong, which is interesting because I get along really really well with the only two people I've ever met from there.

Not even close lol. But I wasn't expecting it to be. With being raised South-African and traveled as much as I have, I don't really "fit" into the norm. There were a lot of "other" answers. Fun though.
I got New York City, Jersey City and Birmingham, AL. NYC and Jersey City make sense- I am from NYC. The Birmingham is because my mom is from Alabama so I say some things that are southern (such as tennis shoes)
It was accurate for me! It listed Madison WI, Aurora CO, or Colorado Springs CO. I've lived in the Madison "area" since middle school with about 10 years in Madison itself

Pretty close for me (given I'm from Canada, can't be 100% accurate) but it placed my in Tacoma and I grew up just over the border in Vancouver, BC so pretty close!
Well I'm from Canada so obviously it's incorrect for me but it placed me in Lincoln or Omaha, Nebraska and my best friend at my cabin is from there so it makes sense. We tend to switch accents when we hang out. She picks up my Canadian accent and I pick up her Nebraskan accent.
My most similar place was Akron, Ohio... and I hail from Western PA originally. So not too far off; however, I think being in the DC area for years now has really influenced my answers as well.

Overall the general area it gave me was spot on, and it did give me Newark/Paterson which is in the general area where I grew up. However, I also ended up with Yonkers and Philly, and I have never even been to either of those places ha ha.
So I took it a second time because I didn't save my map, and I think I must have changed my pop/soda answer (I've always used them interchangeably), and I got some different questions after that. No question about bubblers, so now it thinks I'm from Nebraska.
Me: 30 | DH: 31 Met: August 2006 Married: July 2012 TTC #1 since June 2016
I'm born/raised/currently live in Missouri and the most similar cities were Springfield, Mo; Wichita, KS, and Lexington, Nebraska so I would say it was pretty spot on for me.
I got Springfield MO, Oklahoma City, and Reno. The first two seem probable for a girl raised in the Midwest by Texan parents, but I'm not sure about Reno!
Mine was pretty darn accurate! Hey, @lulu1180 <div class="Spoiler"><img alt="" src="https://us.v-cdn.net/5020794/uploads/editor/xj/lypt4o99fswx.jpg"></div>
I changed my answer for the crayfish/crawfish question from the first time, and my updated result was actually even more spot on than the first time. I think it's interesting that it maybe picked up on my dad living in Buffalo, but I also wonder if the northern bent has anything to do with my time spent in Canada... I find it interesting that I got some hits out West, too. *typo
I got New York/Yonkers/Newark. To which my first thought was "How dare they say my accent is from Jersey!"
I actually don't speak with a heavy New York accent (yay having it beaten out of me when I was studying theater) unless I'm super tired or super angry. Then I sound like I'm hosting Coffee Talk with Linda Richman.

@kindbytealikat, @jrm_14 - I grew up 2 hours from Springfield, MO and went to college there! @kiwi2628 - I didn't know "tennis shoes" was a southern phrase! @icecubeinthedesert - This quiz didn't ask me the water fountain (not bubbler) question. I've literally never heard anyone in real life say the word "bubbler!"

@pebbledam, fun fact: one of the earliest drinking fountains made by Kohler was branded the "Bubbler." It was one of those that just shoots up and bubbles over. Kohler is based out of Wisconsin. I guess it stuck, kind of like Kleenex (which coincidentally is also from a WI company).
Me: 30 | DH: 31 Met: August 2006 Married: July 2012 TTC #1 since June 2016
