I'm back again.
We already have a Peter Joseph (that we sometimes call Pete), and his little brother is due on Christmas Eve.
***FYI: Edwin is a family name. Asher (in my opinion) is not a family name, but my husband loves it and thinks it could be a way to incorporate my name (which is Ashley). If you're wondering if my husband's name is in there, it's Joseph, which is Peter's middle name.
Thoughts?

Re: Naming Peter's brother
Honestly, I think you should just go balls to the wall and use Edwin Ashley. I think it's got old school charm, sounds dignified and matches the naming convention of his older brother.
This second one is our last planned one. I'm not normally into doing any kind of theme, and I'm not deliberately wanting to do a P name, but we do like Phillip.
If it had a harder P sound like Paul, I don't think I would like it as much.
If we have a third, I think that we would deliberately try to avoid another P name. I do think it would cross over from coincidental to matchy if we did it a third time.
Hmmm, I may run that by my husband as a potential nickname. Someone on another board mention that, long ago, Win was sometimes used as a nickname for Edwin.
Ignore your experiences with Ashley as a name in your youth, your son might never meet a little girl named Ashley haha
I think my issue isn't that it's Ashley on a boy in our case, it's just that my name is Ashley and I don't love it. Lol.
Like I don't like it on me, so it's hard for me to want to give it to a child, if that makes sense. I'm not sure what my hangup is.
Robert -- my fav. Strong, classic, similar sounds as Peter but distinctive
Andrew
Brian
Christopher
Matthew
Nathaniel (nn Nate-- a nice one with brother Pete)
Jude Edwin would be my second choice.
