Re: GTKY: Cars

  • I have a Nissan Rogue right now. Would love a Honda Pilot or Acura MDX but not in the budget at this time.
  • Hyundai Tucson. We actually love our car so I'm quite happy with it.

  • I drive a Kia Sportage. I would LOVE a Honda Pilot.

@npkat DH and I used to have a Rogue. It was so cute, I miss that car a lot. We outgrew it when we had our first LO, as it was difficult to fit his car seat, stroller, any of our stuff AND a bunch of groceries, bags, or whatever we were out and about for.

We then bought a slightly bigger car, a Mazda CX-7, which suited us well until LO #2 came along, haha. Then it was a tight squeeze with both of their car seats back there, and the double stroller.

We bit the bullet in January and purchased a ... minivan.  :| It's a Chrysler Pacifica. Never thought we'd join that club, but once we did, we never looked back! It's amazing to have all the extra space, and the stow-away seats!!! Ahhh, it's like we have tons of breathing room now and we can all just stretch out and relax. No more cramped spaces.

  • We drive a Navigator. With 4 kiddos (soon) we definitely need the space. We're happy with it, I would just like a newer model.

  • Current Car: Lincoln Navigator. I have no complaints.

Dream Car ((which I can't have now because kids)): FJ Cruiser or 2001 Jeep or a 2001 4Runner
  • I drive a Subaru Outback. I've had it for a year and I love it, but I also miss my 2-door Ford Focus.

My dream car is a 1968 Mustang. White with red stripes and red interior.
  • We have Acura MDX and a Prius. I might get a new Highlander hybrid if I had the $$, but I love the MDX.
  • Currently driving my Mommie dream car, my Suburban!!

Once im an empty nester though my dream car is a little two seater convertible in red.

  • I have a Subaru Outback. I absolutely love it, but if we're talking other dream cars mine would be an Audi Q7. (Or let's go crazy, Janis Joplin's Porsche that I got to stand next to at a car show a couple of years ago.)
  • Honda Civic for now but it's getting old and we're not sure what we'll replace it with, but we want a self-driving all electric Tesla.
  • 2003 Honda Element now... love it but she only has 4 seats so we will have to take DHs truck if we want to go anywhere as a family.
My dream mom car is a Toyota Sequoia.

  • 2011 Mazda 3. It's great on gas mileage but I hate the leather seats because they get HOT in the summer. I really like my dad's car which is a 2012 Ford Escape. It's also good on gas mileage but it's more comfortable and has a lot more room inside. It would be a much better car for starting a family. :)
  • One Pilot and one Odyssey.  Third row is a must now that we will be toting around three littles.
***March '18 October Siggy Challenge: Halloween Costume Fails***

  • A 2015 rav 4. Hate it.

My dream car is a 4 door black wrangler. I WILL own one, one day. It's a good thing we only want 2 kids lol
  • We have an Accord and a Rendezvous.

"Dream car" is probably a mini van at this point... ugh. Just soooo practical though. @jack_bauer the Pacifica speaks to me.

  • I drive a Suburban now, but when I don't need a MASSIVE car anymore I'd love a Range Rover!
  • We have a Honda Accord, and a Honda Pilot.
My husband wants our next car to be a Suburban, he does all the driving so I really don't care what we get next.
  • I love my Ford Escape, but it's getting up there in years, so if I could drive any car it would be a new Escape.  Not in the budget right now though, and my 08 still drives nicely.
  • Before DS was born, my husband and I both had Corollas - mine was a 2005 and his a 2011. Not only was mine older but it was a manual that he refused to learn how to drive. His is the most basic model without power locks/windows/etc and I HATE it for that reason. We got rid of mine though when we got a Subaru Forester since two Corollas, a baby, and New England winters are a bad combo.

My husband takes public transportation to work, and I used to drive his Corolla to work, but now that I do daycare drop offs I take the Subaru daily. I LOVE it.

Now, if I could justify getting rid of the Corolla we'd probably go for a slight bigger sedan - I really like the new Altimas, or maybe get a Subaru Crosstrek since I'm in love with Subaru. I can't say I have a "dream" car but I'd like to drive a manual again. Probably won't happen until we are empty nesters since being able to interchange cars is important now.

I drive a Kia Sorento. Not sure if this is my dream car, but I love the look of the Jeep Compass.

Edited to add: I do really love my Kia, and it has a third row but is not huge. (I rarely use 3rd row and mostly have seats down for more trunk space)
  • @babybluu my DH wants his next car to be a 4 door Wrangler! I said as long as it's a hard top I'm down.
  • I have a blue 2016 Nissan Rogue and love it. We are only having one kid so we plan on having it for about 6 years then upgrade to a Pathfinder or similar. My husband has 2001 Nissan Xterra and now that we are expecting I want to set it on fire - he keeps his side work crap in it and it always smells. That being said I LOVE XTERRAS. I had a 2004 for 10 years and was sad about getting rid of it. My dream car would be for Nissan to start making the Xterras again and keep the body style but upgrade them with the nice finishes (leather etc.) and somehow make it have a smoother ride & better gas mileage.

My first car was a manual and I miss it sooooo much. Anytime I'm going somewhere with my brother I ask if I can drive his car because it's manual lol. But my husband cannot drive manual and I get so nervous even thinking about teaching him. I tried once when we were like 16 or 17 and he was freaking out lol. We haven't tried since, and now both of our cars are automatic.
  • I have a 2015 Kia sorrento. It's the 2 row version. I bought it certified used but practically brand new with less than 10k miles on it. It has been a really great car, especially since it was my first really new one ever. It has decent trunk space for our big dog and baggage. With 2 car seats it'll be fine but we won't be able to take any additional people in the car with us. At some point I'll probably go big and get a three row truck. I don't really have a dream car, but I prefer trucks over minivans.
  • Current car is a 2 door 2007  Honda Civic. I love my little red hot rod. But will be making a change since we're having the bean.

The dream is a Mercedes-Benz. No particular body type or year. Just been in love since my aunt let me drive her SUV. Maybr after all the kids are long gone!

  • I have a 2014 Mazda CX9. I LOVE it! I just fit my friend's car seat in the 2nd row with my two, so it does fit 3 across. But my oldest is F Fing and I would want her in the middle and there's no tether. I could leave her on the outside, put our middle daughter RFing in the middle and the infant seat on an outside but it's just a lot of work.

I would prefer a Suburban but it still doesn't ease the issue of the kids getting in themselves so we're going to test drive the Sienna and Odyssey later this fall.
  • We have a 2015 Chevy Traverse with a bench seat in the 2nd row and a third row.  It works great now, but It's a very tight squeeze with 3 across but no idea how I'd do School drop off's with my daughter getting out of the tail gate to move her to the back.  My 2 year DS needs his personal space and I'd worry about him being next the baby.  We'll see if in another 6 month otherwise we may need to join the minivan nation.

As as far as dream cars, I'm not big into them other then them being reliable and prefer some sort of SUV.
