Re: Friday ticker change 8/25

  • 1) 5 weeks! Baby is an Appleseed!

    2) Off and on. I get bad from 3-7 most days. Not throwing up but pain and queasiness.

    3) Two ultrasounds next week - Monday and Friday. The RE said we may be able to see the HB on Friday, if not then by the following week.

    4) Nothing at the moment.

    5) After a year of trying and this being our first IVF cycle, I came downstairs crying after getting the positive test. He asked if I was ok and I told him.

  • 1. How many weeks are you? How big is baby?

7 weeks, the size of a blueberry

    2. How have you been feeling?

Nauseous all the time, but today I feel much better. The fact I feel better has me freaking out a bit because of a previous loss.

    3. Any appointments coming up?

    First appointment is next Friday!!!!

    4. Rants, raves, questions?

Anyone else feel kind of a prickling near their cervix??? Has me a little worried.

    5. GTKY: How did you tell your SO that you were pregnant?

After taking the test I said, "Do you see a line there?" I thought my eyes were tricking me because I had taken a test a week earlier and it was negative. (I took the first one the day of my missed AF)

  • 1. How many weeks are you? How big is baby?
    7 weeks, baby blueberry!
    2. How have you been feeling? Feeling great. No MS (same as DS, so not worried) I'm tired by the end of my work day and my boobs are big and sore, but really can't complain.

    3. Any appointments coming up? My first appt with OB is 9/7. Had a pretty easy and uncomplicated pregnancy last time, so hoping to be that lucky again. My office doesn't see patients until about the 9 week mark if there is no history of complications.

    4. Rants, raves, questions?

Rant-My feet are super swollen. I've had this issue since DS was born 2 years ago and usually take a water pill, but can't now. Just ordered some compression socks so I feel 90 years old!

Rave- We're telling my parents and sister tonight. Got a DS a shirt that says "worlds greatest brother". It will be fun to see how long it takes them to notice.

    5. GTKY: How did you tell your SO that you were pregnant?

Well I really didn't think I was pregnant and only took a test beacuase I wanted a beer (or 5). Got a super squinter so I chucked it at DH and asked if that meant no beer for me. It was a very awesome surprise!

  • 1. How many weeks are you? How big is baby? 7 weeks, blueberry
    2. How have you been feeling? Nauseated, tired, bloated AF, headache nonstop.

    3. Any appointments coming up? Not for 2.5 more weeks  :/

    4. Rants, raves, questions? Not especially. Just getting very anxious to confirm everything is going well.

    5. GTKY: How did you tell your SO that you were pregnant? He came home from work and said he was going upstairs to change. I told him to wait because I had to show him something, then tossed him the test.

  • I have a due date now! Which means I have a ticker date!  Hello, fellow Fridays!

    1. How many weeks are you? How big is baby?   9 weeks today (EDD is 3/30, but I'm sticking around the April group.  I can't quit y'all.)

    2. How have you been feeling?  Like poop.  Super queasy, and I have a cold.

    3. Any appointments coming up?  Yesterday!  First appointment with US and got to hear the heartbeat <3

    4. Rants, raves, questions?  Nah.

    5. GTKY: How did you tell your SO that you were pregnant?  I called him at work, and he answered the phone from the fire truck.  I told him I was going to tell him some mind-blowing news but he can't react out loud.  I didn't want his crew to know!  He was shocked.  I was shocked.  We are both still shocked!

  • 1. How many weeks are you? How big is baby?
    7 weeks-size of a blueberry

    2. How have you been feeling?

So. Dang. Tired. I've been going to bed earlier and earlier each night but it doesn't seem to help. But I've had  no nausea pr MS, so I can't complain too much.

    3. Any appointments coming up?
Still waiting for that first one on 9-7. I will be almost 9 weeks then so praying we hear a strong heartbeat.
    4. Rants, raves, questions?

It's just getting harder not to tell people-esp. since we've live in The same town as our parents! Also, we are flying to Florida for a Labor Day weekend beach trip and I'm nervous about that. Any Florida mommies have tips on safe sunscreen and how to stay safe/comfortable at the beach?

    5. GTKY: How did you tell your SO that you were pregnant?

As a FTM I had originally thought I'd do something cute like give him a gift with the test in it, but when I saw that vfbfp, I got too excited! I walked downstairs--he was sitting on the couch--and I said "I need to show you something." Then I handed him the strip and asked if he saw two lines. He did and he was so excited :)

  • @mcg920 We are both 7 weeks with appts on the 7th! Hoping we both hear those strong heartbeats. Enjoy your vacation! I went to Jamaica when I was 7 months for our babymoon and used regular sunscreen. Soak up the quiet time!

@bettyvonsomethingstein So exciting that you heard the strong heartbeat! A few more weeks and you should start feeling better. Hang in there.

  • @courtyowl427 Awesome! Do we have the same EDD? Based on LMP mine is 4-13. FX for great first appointments! Thanks for the sunscreen advice. Im a nervous first timer trying not to over analyze and over-research every single thing. Not easy for this  type-a gal,
  • @mcg920 Lurking here, but wanted to say that my understanding is that you want to avoid oxybenzone in sunscreen, especially in the first trimester. You can usually find hippie or baby sunscreen that is chemical free (uses minerals as the sunscreen - usually zinc and/or titanium oxide) or that uses other chemicals but not oxybenzone. The mineral sunscreens work well, but are a lot harder to rub in - in my experience they give my skin a purplish glow at first, even when I rub it in really well, but after 10 or 15 minutes I look normal again :)

  • I'm late, sorry! Bump app is dumb and didn't update yesterday, even though I knew I was a Friday girl I somehow believed I had gotten pregnancy-confused and maybe the app was right.  Of course today it says 5w 1d, sigh

    1. How many weeks are you? How big is baby?
    5 weeks yesterday!
    2. How have you been feeling?

Fewer symptoms this past week than week 3-4, actually. Trying not to stress bc the bloat continues to grow and RLP is bad, which I'm taking as good signs!

    3. Any appointments coming up? not until 9/7

    4. Rants, raves, questions? yes, I need help re: my appointment! So when I called and gave them my LMP they said I'd be 8 weeks (EDD 4/22) on 9/10 so could come in just before or after that. However, I was charting so I know I ovulated late and should actually be due 4/27. I'm a wimp and didn't speak up because I didn't want to have to wait even longer for my appointment! But now I'm starting to worry that I'll go in and actually be just short of 7 weeks, they might not get a good hb, and that will just cause more stress. I can't bring myself to call back and push back the appointment, because the wait is just killing me. Am I being incredibly stupid?

    5. GTKY: How did you tell your SO that you were pregnant? ran downstairs and said "I think it's positive!" I made him run up to look at the test while I stayed with DS. To my horror he picked it up from the pee end and brought it downstairs so I could show him what to look for - he didn't realize which end had pee on it!

  • Ok, now I am freaking out - just HOW bad is it is I used the sunscreen that after googling the ingredients, it says to avoid during pregnancy? @hedgepig

  • @saisongbird I'm no expert, but I think it's safe to say that you're fine. Tons of moms have used all kinds of sunscreen safely, and if it was a very big deal, your OB would have warned you. I'm pretty hippie when it comes to chemicals, so I try my best to stay away, but it's better to be protected than to be sunburned. So, change your sunscreen for the future if you want, but definitely don't stress about the past!

  • @hedgepig Thank you for the advice! I'd read similar warnings about oxybenzone. I went to Target today and picked up Banana Boat for Kids, which lists the main ingredient as zinc oxide :)
  • 1. How many weeks are you? How big is baby?
    5 weeks, Appleseed
    2. How have you been feeling?

Sore boobs, light cramping, some nausea alternating with extreme insatiable hunger, then days of zero symptoms (which freaks me out).

    3. Any appointments coming up?

    Not until Sept. 18 :-(

    4. Rants, raves, questions?

(TW) Had an early loss in July after a very uneventful previous pregnancy (2.5 yo DD), so the anxiety is a constant companion.  This time does feel much different, though. I wish my OB would see me earlier than 9 weeks, but I'm sure it'll go by fast.

    5. GTKY: How did you tell your SO that you were pregnant?

Woke him up and showed him the stick. After the loss, it seemed cruel to wait to tell him.

  • @Muse1182 - we are due date twins for now!

  • 1. How many weeks are you? How big is baby?
7 weeks (7w3d today). Size of a playing dice.
    2. How have you been feeling?

Really freaking nauseous. The dry heaving is really extreme so as a result I've lost my voice and my throat is sore. My boobs and nipples are still sore. RLP, minimal cramping, exhausted. Plus I've been sooooo gassy and bloated.

    3. Any appointments coming up?

First OB visit and sono on Wednesday! So my ticker change day may change after that!

    4. Rants, raves, questions?

    5. GTKY: How did you tell your SO that you were pregnant?

Called him upstairs and showed him the test. After all this time, I couldn't wait to show him and I needed to know I wasn't imagining it.

    Me (33). DH (37). DD (2.2012). MCs x4. After 4 years & 7 months, due 4.2018!

  • 1. How many weeks are you? How big is baby?
    6w, 3d man am I delayed, sorry!
    2. How have you been feeling?

Pretty good. Just anxious. I was in Telluride this weekend and even though I told my sister in law and her husband I was pregnant, they still had us on some pretty challenging hikes. First day, despite the altitude, I could really keep up with them but day 2, I really struggled. Poor baby had a tough day, but hopefully he/she enjoyed the pizza? My SIL has no interest in children so I don't think she really internalized that I might want to take it easy.

    3. Any appointments coming up?

    Sept 12th, so excited!

    4. Rants, raves, questions?

Rant: I am REALLY struggling with my emotions at work and it is not a good look. I have such a short fuse and everything upsets me.

Rave: My husband is FINALLY taking the lead on helping to plan our trip to Asia, at last.

    5. GTKY: How did you tell your SO that you were pregnant?

So I ovulated late and my wandfos were coming up "negative... I think" (that's a thing right?). But I hadn't gotten my period, so I warned my husband that I might be pregnant and needed a normal HPT from the drugstore.  I took the test and showed it to him. He was surprised, we were getting ready to see an RE. His first question was whether he still needed to do the jerk off test for his sperm. That's kind of how he rolls honestly :)
