Hello! I searched on this topic but only found a stray mention or two. Hope I'm not duplicating a discussion.
Anyone have a great book recommendation for toddler or preschool aged older siblings to introduce the idea of baby? There are so many out there, it's hard to tell which are going to be any good. I thought others might be wondering about this too, so I'd start a discussion.
I went with Little Critters and Bernstain Bears. Those are characters we're familiar with. I also plan on getting the Daniel Tiger one but he's seen the episode so much I'm debating if the book is necessary
If you are breastfeeding the Dr. Sears ones are nice. I can't remember the names of them, but I liked the baby one with my oldest when my youngest was born. It is one of few that shows breastfeeding, an open-sided crib next to a parents' bed, and a babywearing dad and my oldest really liked it. We had gotten the baby one from the library. There is also supposed to be a pregnancy one that is good too geared towards explaining the pregnancy to kids I think. Otherwise, we have the Berenstein Bear's one, the Little Critter one, both versions of Danial Tiger (board book is very different from paperback), and a myriad of others that we randomly picked up. Honestly though the Dr. Sears one is the only one that really stands out to me or that I'll be seeking out this time around.
