Morning sickness cures

Trader Joe's lemon ginger water is EVERYTHING for morning sickness this time of year.  I found it yesterday and it is really helps my nausea without consuming calories  What helps everyone else with nausea?

Re: Morning sickness cures

  • I've just been using water and saltines. But the saltines are starting to be an aversion :/

ill definitely be looking into that lemon ginger water though.

  • I agree with @ellekell crackers are now an aversion! My sister told me try the ginger pops but I have yet to find them. May have to try the lemon ginger water. Is it weird tasting?

  • Yes! Can't stand saltines!

Preggie Pops on Amazon are amazing.

I've been waking up and eating protein and berries right away and eating protein all day long...Mainly cheese, yogurt or something like that. It's really helping but I still feel icky.

I try to stay hydrated with lemon water. Regular water tastes terrible.
A handful of blueberries or carrots have my helping my stomach not feel quite so terrible.

  • I thought the lemon ginger water would taste weird but it's actually so refreshing.  I just sip on it throughout the day. I wish I could buy it from TJ's by the case. I may ask haha
  • No joke, jolly ranchers. Try them! They were my saving grace my last 2 pregnancies. Then I switched to gummy bears! Sucking on them more so than chewing them.
  • Yes to Jolly Ranchers. I also had to start B6+Unisom because I wasn't able to eat or drink.  :/ That said, I only take the night time dose of Unisom because otherwise I'm not sure I could function.
  • Oh— and the less hydrated I am, the worse I feel even though it's tough to drink when I feel so icky.
  • Those taking B6 plus unisom, it's the combo that works, right? Does B6 alone help?
  • I haven't tried it alone.. only because right now I'm too scared to try!

I took half a b6 alone this morning. I'm still queasy but not as bad. Unisom makes me SO sleepy.
  • @justkeeptrying ugghh now I'm seriously craving jolly ranchers.... I wonder where I could get them nearby

Eat something every two hours.  Ideally with protein.

  • Ladies, One-A-Day TruNatal ginger supplement is aaamaaazzzing! Just got them yesterday and I've taken two so far since then and I feel so much better! Still don't really have much of an appetite but I'm not constantly running to the bathroom to dry heave. It comes in a tiny pink bottle and I believe Wal-Mart has them. I got them at a local grocery store where I live but I checked Wal-Mart's site. I'm sure Wal-Greens and Target have them, too. Give them a shot!
  • @crossfitbabybump that sounds really good! I'm going to try it.

  • @stow2009 Yes do! I haven't felt this "semi-normal" in weeks and I wish I would have found these a few weeks ago, lol! would have saved me a lot of time getting to know the porcelain God haha!
  • OH wow. I need to get this immediately! I'll try anything at this point. I'm just 6+ weeks and I'm hoping it doesn't just keep getting more intense :O. My issue is waking up at about 2AM super nauseous, I'm going to try maybe eating a little bit more right before I go to sleep.
  • I'm wondering if protein is better than carbs. I was thinking of keeping a protein bar next to my bed at night. Although nothing tastes good at that point so I'll have to force it. : /
  • @brooklynny78 carbs were easiest for me for the majority of my first trimester.  I kept a TON of snacks in my bedside drawer.

I just wanted to add - you are welcome to read through our boards if they help you. However, you might want to look at joining a BMB that is in line with your due date as all of us are much further along than 6weeks in this group now as we are all due in March. You may find your had women who are working through and experiencing the same things as you are right now. Just a suggestion ;)

  • @brooklynny78 - BTW DO NOT GET those ginger capsules. They only worked one day for me and then I ended up puking them up and couldn't stand the smell of them after. DON'T DO IT. Also, no zombie threads. lol

    Welcome to TB.

  • Ginger chews. Ice water with a little lime juice. Small, frequent snacks with protein.
  • It sounds kind of weird but this YouTube noise is miraculous and instantly takes away my nausea https://youtu.be/Yy-Ba_O9y5M

  • I found some ginger candies in the asian food section of my HEB grocery store that work great for me. They kind of are the consistency of carmel candy. I usually get sick in the evening after our loooong trip home from work. It really sucks because we love to cook together and I've just been feeling too awful to enjoy dinner. We made a really nice dinner one night and right after we ate I thought I was going to throw up, so I grabbed one of the ginger candies and it stopped my nausea.
