My mother - due to her getting all butt hurt about us not going to a concert Saturday night we had to explain what's going on with TTC (we didn't go because AF showed up and I was really upset). Her response was well that's sad, but you hurt my feelings and that's more sad. 

The real kicker though was that according to her we should be telling everyone about our issues conceiving. When people people ask us when we're going to make my parents grandparents (none of DH's parent's family or friends ever ask) we should have a standard answer that explains what's going on. BUT we have to be really careful with how we phrase it because it's really important that we don't make people feel bad for asking. And the reason we have to be telling everyone is so that we will be in their thoughts and prayers because that is going to magically make us KU.

@ kariann323 this whole situation makes me sad for you. I'm sorry for your family's insensitivity. its like everything is suppose to be about everyone else... but not you two. so opposite on how it should be.

Dude... @KariAnn323 I am so so sorry you have to deal with that.  I wanna TP her for you!  1) Really?! She's giving you a guilt trip for "hurting her feelings"... what is she 12? If not, she needs to get the F over it 2) It's none of their business where you are with TTC, and for the love of all that is good on earth, you so do not need to "be careful how you phrase it", if they're gonna be rude enough to ask you that question and you wanna respond with the brutal truth they better buck up and get over their butthurt for being so rude and inconsiderate. 3) creepy internet hugs

KariAnn323 Woah... Sorry I posted on TTCAL before I saw this. Geesh! Well, if the magical KU prayers work, please mention my situation! LOL. jk. But seriously... NO ONE should be forced to talk about their private medical situation unless they actually want to. I personally find it easier to talk about my situation since it's changed my life, but that's a personal choice! I sometimes tell people nicely and sometimes I'm VERY abrasive with it. Grrr... your mom... I'm just so.... urgh!

My rage today is directed at all the idiot drivers in this town, and the ridiculous traffic that is constant. It should not take 30 mins to drive less than two miles at 2 in the afternoon... and if one more person tells me "it's not as bad in the summer," I may scream. It's bad al year round, at all times of the day.... i hate constantly being late, and feeling rushed yet stuck. It causes me more anxiety than it should. I'm just not cut out for big city bullshit.. .

I would like to TP my regional manager because he won't do anything about the incompetent moron on my desk. I sat down with him and explained my concerns and he's convinced that most of the issue is due to a lack of knowledge. But it's not. She can't retain anything that I've tried to teach her.

@KariAnn323, I still can't believe your mom said that. It sounds like you have the type of family that might share every intimate detail if their lives with each other like mine does too. I really hope she comes around and realized how much pain she is causing you. Hugs!

**TW**I posted about this yesterday in the TTCAL check-in, but it definitely belongs here too. My mom (a nurse) texted me this: "Helped in OB and saw a baby boy born. An exciting end to my night. Was awake for hours on the excitement." She knows about our first loss (but not the second because she didn't really know how to talk about it with me anyways), so I can't fathom why she would think that would be something I would want to hear. I mean, she could have just texted that to my sister instead, because she's not even TTC yet. But she texted it to me instead.

@KariAnn323 ugh I'm sorry your mom is being so insensitive. My MIL is the same way as in she wants to tell everyone our business, which is why we haven't told her anything about our TTC or IF issues.

My TP goes to my two best friends. They both have two kids and one of them just had the second kid two months ago and posts a million pictures on Facebook, which is why I rarely go on there anymore. So the three of us are in a group text yesterday and the one who just had a baby starts going on about how she really wants another already and she's trying really hard to decide if/when and then the other friend chimes in about how she just can't have anymore because she hates labor/birth and once she's absolutely sure she's done she's going to force her husband to get a vasectomy. And then the first friend says that yeah she'll probably have her tubes tied when she gets her third c section. And there I was, reading all this on CD 1, after 18 months of TTC #2 with no luck and a failed IUI. And yes, while they didn't know it was CD 1, they are both fully aware of my IF struggles.

@shortstack930, I'm so sorry about your friends being insensitive. They should know better than to discuss stuff like around you. Another case of people not getting it until they've been through it. Hugs

This is probably just me being PMS-y but I just wanna say creepy internet stranger hugs to all of you!  I hate how inconsiderate our closest friends and families can be at times.  TTGP isn't *easy* for everyone and the fact that so many people are oblivious to that is so difficult.  I doubt it's ever intentional, but come on, you'd think our close friends/family should be more understanding than a group of strangers on the internet.  (I know unless you're going through it you don't see it the same way, but it's still so hard)

TW vent/rage + babies. Okay, for serious... on top of stupid Spotty McJerkface, precursor to Auntie Twatwaffle Flo, just got informed by DH that an old coworker of his (kind of friend-ish person) who JUST had a little girl about 4 months ago. Just found out she's KU again. For serious?! She's not even with the BD anymore and is having a 2nd kid with him. In total this is accident #3 for her. I just want to rage at the unfairness of all things TTC. She's all "OMG guys I'm super excited my babies will be less than a year apart, how cool is that?" I know I'm being overly hormonal and ridiculous and bitchy and whiney, so many people are in worse situations, etc, but my pity party is continuing instead of waning. Bring on all the wine. I'm going back into my corner to cry now. Maybe tomorrow will be a happier place. End TW.

@hollieileen Ugh city driving is the worst! I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, and I refuse to drive downtown.
@pebbledam I'm sorry you're having to deal with someone so incompetent and can't do anything about it.
@shortstack930 I'm so sorry that your IUI didn't work out and that your friends are being so insensitive.

Wow. I'm so sorry your mom is not more supportive. As women folk, also as your mother who has been pregnant with you should have some frame of reference of what you're going through and be more sensitive. Arg! @KariAnn323
