Re: TW Tuesday

  • My TW of the day is North Korea. A kid from my hometown and where I live (a suburb of Cincinnati) was arrested there over a year ago for allegedly trying to steal a poster. He was sentenced to 15 years of hard labor. They released him today, which sounded great, but now it is reported that he has been in a coma for FIFTEEN MONTHS and has botulism. His poor family. Seriously, North Korea. UGH.

  • @EmilyLove25 I am so sad to hear this.  I heard they were releasing him due to medical issues but that is beyond terrible.

Mine goes to my husband who unintentionally ran over his cell phone today.  He is constantly attached to his damn phone, I am surprised he forgot he put it on his friends bumper, or that he didn't realize he was missing it when he got in the truck.  Not to mention who thinks it's a good idea to run over something you see fall off your buddy's truck?  At least it was time for an upgrade six months ago.

  • @EmilyLove25 I was just reading about this. That is so awful. :(

  • My TW this week is one of our regional techs. He wasted 3 hours of my time today when the information I needed from him should have taken less than 2 minutes to find. I had so much other stuff to get done that I didn't get to and I'll now have to take care of tomorrow when I had planned on working on other things.
  • What is TW?
  • @auntieraindrop it's Twatwaffle lol. But with the abbreviation I keep reading it as trigger warning!

  • Although I'd never call my DS (age 7) a TW, I sure was NOT impressed when he wet my bed last night! DH is out of town this week (he travels a lot for work) and I let the kids take turns sleeping with me when he's gone. Not a fun thing to wake up to in the middle of the night!
  • I have 2!

TW DH who I told to go play video games last night because I had paperwork to do, stayed up until 430 in the morning. So when DD got up at the crack of dawn it was all me.

TW patient's mother today who has brought 1 of 2 of her children for therapy the last two weeks! The one that isn't coming is mine and I had patients I had to reschedule from Thursday bc I have an U/S and had no open slots. She just said whoops! Whoops, you cost 2 kids a time slot this week and me $$!

    Wow, I am abnormally rage-y.

  • @Dani0329 sorry to hear about your H.  Can totally relate, mine stays up until 2 or 3 most nights doing paperwork for his business and then is super difficult to get out of bed the next morning.

  • DH is the TW again this week. He made three appointments for me to get estimates on our car today (some bozo backed into my car last month). Now, while I realize that DH doesn't have the ability to get the estimates due to his work schedule, he is still a TW. Trying to wrestle a toddler while sitting in the waiting room of THREE mechanics was freaking torture.
  • TW to The folks in our shipping department. I ask for acknowledgement and updates that they should have within 2 hours (as told to me by the boss)...They might update me by the end of the day - and I've got customers waiting to hear back. They used to do such a GOOD job at this process but all the sudden this year they have a major attitude problem that even their boss can't seem to remedy (and he's generally our site wizard at that kind of thing).

Also to our A/C - its not even hot (by southern standards) and it can't keep the house at 72 degrees or cooler. The last time we asked the landlady to look into it she told us it was our fault because the unit was dirty even though the lease terms tell us not to mess with it...Yeah we're cleaning it tonight.
  • Even though my first TW of North Korea is vastly worse, I would like to add DH to the list. So he's probably getting this job and had a better offer given to him so since then he's been telling me he's going to drink every night this week. Sure enough, he just left for the bar. On a Tuesday. He works for a major accounting firm and has to take DD to my parents so I can get my boood drawn at 8 AM and see if our LO has serious life threatening problems then race to get DD and drive an hour to work praying I make it before an 11 am presentation... but glad one of us has a carefree life! Thank god his new position has travel. Every day living with another adult is too many for me.

  • @EmilyLove25 I feel your pain. DH started traveling for work Monday-Thursday, and I have to say that beyond the complications of scheduling appointments, it's pretty great for our marriage! I like rocking my own routine (and clean house) and having together time once he gets back. Congrats on the offer though!
  • @Dani0329 what kind of therapist are you? I'm am a pediatric physical therapist and I can definitely relate to your situation!
  • @sjb2215

That's awesome! I am a speech therapist! I work primarily with children too, but have a handful of TBI/CVA adult patients.

I usually just suck that up as nature of the beast, but today I had the urge to go out and give her the what for, but restrained.

  • TW DH for two reasons:
when he was getting ready to leave for work this morning he asked me if I could take DS to daycare because he's "sick". It's his responsibility to drop off. I'm like...honey if you're well enough to go into the office, you can take the kid on your way.

Also, it was brought to his attention by a colleague today that DH might want to make our ultrasound appt private in his Outlook calendar. So basically anyone that has viewing rights potentially saw that and now knows I'm pregnant. By anyone, I mean the VP and also my line manager's manager. Which isn't exactly awesome because this colleague also blabs and DH and I work for the same company. I'm allowed to be pregnant obviously, just didn't plan to tell them just yet.
  • @jakobaby Oh, man, I would NOT be happy if DH accidentally spilt the beans like that!

@Dani0329 That's awesome! My DS has some SN and we've done speech therapy with him multiple times. We've always had amazing therapists, you guys are pretty high on my list of awesome people!
