After a visit to the hospital on Wednesday, I put myself on bedrest until my follow up appt on Monday. DS is spending the weekend at my inlaws and DH is doing a ton of yard work and cleaning. I'm missing a family wedding, so I'm feeling kinda blah this weekend. Just want this babe to keep cooking for at least 6 more weeks.
@Kudlica27 I am. It's very nice, especially compared to where I delivered DS. It's the same hospital system, but my doctor switched practices last summer and is delivering at 2 different hospitals further from my house. Of course they just opened the new hospital 10 minutes from our house that is supposed to be identical to the one I'll deliver at this time.
The only disappointment I had with the tour is they focus so much on the rooms for vaginal delivery and that process and kind of skim over the c section process. It's so fast paced and there wasn't much opportunity for questions. There was one couple there who brought a set of grandparents with them. They didn't seem to pay attention and just wandered around getting in the way and the husband went into a postpartum room after the tour guide specifically said not to at least 5 times.
I am super excited about the post partum room, though. When DS was born I got stuck in this tiny room right across from the OR and next to a supply closet because I had a c section and they reserved bigger rooms for vaginal moms. They are all the same at this hospital.
We had our mops baby shower today, that was fun. I won/picked a Moby wrap so that was cool. Came home fitted our infant seat in my car, turns out my rear seats and infant seat don't get along so now I need to either buy a new one or a pool noodle. Arranged the nursery a tad so I could get an idea of how it'll look if it ever gets done.
*edit I'll be using pool noodles I was being dramatic lol*
@Nxy we've had to use pool noodles or rolled up towels in both of our vehicles for infant and convertible seats. I'm dreading fitting in this new infant seat and turning DD FF. I hate car seat installs!
@bwing10@kristenk727 take it easy ladies and hopefully your LOs will cook for a while.
We got back from our short vacation last night and went to the summer kick-off for our library's reading program (bounce houses, ice cream, and activities for kids). Did some laundry and put together a grocery list today. Ran a few errands this afternoon and am getting stuff lined up for DD's 3rd birthday "party" next weekend. I'm not feeling great today as it's in the 90's. Tomorrow is church and probably more getting the house ready and playing with DD. Hopefully good sleep tonight.

SD1 has her end of season softball pool party shortly, grateful that we're re not hosting so I can sit on my butt. Tomorrow hopefully more of the same, which is to say, nothing. After the three days of get-togethers at our house last weekend, I'm thoroughly enjoying quiet time with my little family.
Blueberry picking and nap today. DH is at a baseball game and I just *had* to break the deli meat rule to get a Pub sub (if you don't have a Publix you don't get it). And it was delicious.
to all mom's on bedrest, keep those babies inside and don't do anything you don't have to! NICU time is the worst!
My husband and I just said goodbye to the last of about 50 people who came to a barbecue at our house today! It was a super fun potluck and we had a great time...my sister in law cleaned up everything, so thank god for her! However, I will NEVER throw a party like this at 31 weeks pregnant ever again! Hahahahha I'm exhausted!
@bwing10@Kudlica27 take it easy mamas! Thinking and praying for both of you and your babes!
I have a bridal shower tomorrow for my cousin. Our LO is due on her wedding day! She is one of those girls that everyone loves and is just so sweet. I'm excited to celebrate her tomorrow. August is going to be an exciting time for our family. I'm just hoping DH and/or I can make it to her wedding!

I am missing a family wedding next weekend, my BIL is getting married 3 hours away and doctor said I can not travel at all, so DH will be going and I will be home, my mom is flying in from Florida to keep my company! I need this little guy to cook for 5 more weeks to keep him out of NICU
@bumpybump@BlackNYellow starting on Wednesday my blood pressure soared (been normal entire pregnancy) and it took a while to come down and now it kinda just goes up and down, so I am being sent to a Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialist (high risk OB) and I am praying LO will stay in 5 more weeks so he won't have to go to NICU, but it sounds like I will be delivering in a city over an hour away and early, per my regular OB.

Side random: has anyone every left a job they love due to a new boss? I've been in my current role 4 years (with the company 6 years) and I've always LOVED my job. Well last year in Sept, my boss left and the new one that replaced him is pretty awful. I've tried talking to her about concerns, and I have tried giving it time thinking things would get better as it went on, but I'm just so miserable I'm contemplating leaving. It makes me so incredibly sad. I love the job and people I work with and honestly feel like I don't have many other options but at this point every day I come home frustrated and upset. Several people have already left, and I can't believe she doesn't see that she is the common denominator. If you've been in a similar situation, how did you finally make that call to leave? I'm thinking of updating my resume and hitting the pavement when I'm on mat leave.
@belmont1785 I had a similar situation but didn't necessarily *love* my job beforehand, but did ultimately end up leaving because of a new boss. Has anyone had a totally frank conversation with your boss? Or your boss's boss? I always get frustrated when no one actually straight up addresses the situation and leaves, because that doesn't help anyone. I had some really hard conversations before I left so that I knew there was nothing more that I could've done, and that the higher ups couldn't pretend/make excuses for this person because I had been up front and provided detailed, evidence-based feedback (as opposed to emotional, subjective feedback---which I had but is just an opinion). I just think everyone should be given truthful feedback and given the chance to change. If they still don't change then yes, get the heck out.
@belmont1785 DH was in a similar situation. He knew 6 months into his last job that he couldn't work for his boss, or his boss's boss. People would just walk out without giving notice, and these were high paying professional jobs. He looked for a long time before he found another job he wanted. Without a doubt it was the right decision for us.
@belmont1785, yes I left a job due to a HORRIBLE manager but was lucky enough to be transferred to another building that was closer to my house. Can you transfer to another location or dept?
I've had several conversations with her about what I'm unhappy with, and she will say, "well I'm not Joe, so you're going to have to just understand that." And she tells me that I "just need to figure it out" a lot instead of addressing the issues. Not trying to toot my own horn but I'm her top performer which just makes her dump more work my way. And she plays favorites a LOT and will overlook things for certain people and not others. She claims to not be a micromanager but TOTALLY is. I have a lot of friends in the business and most likely could quickly transfer to another location with no problems. I'm just contemplating if it's time for something new. Just hard because I never really anticipated leaving. But it's not the most family friendly job. As my kids get older I'm going to want to be able to break away for events/concerts/school activities and I just feel like it might be easier to leave now, then if I stay another couple years and feel even more invested.
Oh and I've thought about addressing it with her boss, but she's WORSE. She is extremely bipolar, and you never know which side of her you're going to get. One day she will be the nicest and the next she BLOWS completely up. Even my boss is scared of her/dislikes her.
@belmont1785 I left my last job mainly because of my boss, and the toxic environment she created. There were ethical issues as well. I decided to stay at home (this was before baby #3 was born), but would have left to seek other employment. Life's too short for all that bad juju.
I may fill up the kiddie pool & water table for the kids shortly, but that's the only thing I plan to do today, besides dinner. DH is grilling pork chops later, and I'll cook the sides. We usually have family dinners with my parents on Sundays, but I'm not leaving the house. I haven't even put on pants today.
We went to the beach with DH family...i definitely asked him to leave earlier than normal. So uncomfortable, sweaty and gross. I wish it was a pool!! They have a small hobiecat (sailboat) so we are at the beach a lot during the summer. I am going to have to bring way more water, slushy drinks, spray fan or something. I was not a happy camper. And I was always the person who ran cold. Welcome to pregnant summer!

Found a new beach at a lake near my house and it is AWESOME! This town is a pretty typical small southern town, so there is a certain "demographic" of people who frequent the smaller free-access beaches. I hate it, because I don't want my kids around that...the smoking and drinking and cussing and overall trashiness drives me crazy.
Well, this beach costs $10 per carload M-Th and $20 F-Su, so automatically that weeds out a lot of people who don't want to pay anything at all. They imported sand, drudged the water so it's way cleaner, set up a covered picnic area with BBQ pits, a first aid station, SUPER clean restrooms, and there is no smoking or drinking allowed (which also weeds out people).
