  • How are things going with you? pretty good. I jut can't wait for summer.

    Questions? nope

pregnancy GTKY: any crazy pregnancy dreams happening? (Baby related or not!) not reallllly, just the occasional bad mom dream. Last night I dreamt I had my baby and just laid him on a soft bed with lots of pillows and left him to go hang out downstairs. I'd feed him when I thought of it, which was around 2-4 times a day. Super weird....

NBR GTKY: you could go on a city tour, a hiking trip, or a canoe trip. What do you prefer? hiking. I like forests and nature. Canoeing has too much sun exposure for my liking.. and my legs are stronger than my arms :p

  • How are things going with you? I have a tummy ache this morning. I guess I ate too much for dinner? I'm kind of excited to have a decreased appetite. Please stop eating all the food and more, self. Unhealthy proportions. DH still isn't into feeling my belly or watching it move even though LO is moving constantly, but he did get into squeezing my boobs and making them leak. Men.

    Questions? Not particularly I think..

pregnancy GTKY: any crazy pregnancy dreams happening? (Baby related or not!) I can't think of any recently actually! I've been either not sleeping long enough to dream, or I sleep like a rock and don't remember anything.

NBR GTKY: you could go on a city tour, a hiking trip, or a canoe trip. What do you prefer? I think I'm gonna go for a canoe trip! I love boats and the water. Can I put a parasol above me to shade me from the sun? Can I have someone else in the canoe with me for company?

  • How are things going with you? Things are good. Tried to start walking more when it's not raining and watch what I am eating. DH and I have talked more about names and I think we have some narrowed down. MIL is, however, driving me crazy about my baby shower. She got the ball rolling with it and I asked my sister to help out. But my MIL has been all over me lately about getting stuff ready for it, and keeps asking what we need to do saying "I want so badly to help with your shower." I keep telling her no one is doing anything for it and there is nothing that needs to be done right now except for invitations. But she wouldn't quit so I am going shopping with her this weekend for "shower stuff."

    Questions?

pregnancy GTKY: any crazy pregnancy dreams happening? (Baby related or not!) Last night I had a dream that a sweet lady from work was trying to gun me and this other guy down. We hid behind a tree and when I tried to call the cops after some co-workers detained her, the guy answering the phone said "everyone is so sick right now we can't come out." Then I called back and the lady told me she would schedule an 8 minute appointment with a psychologist for me at the hospital. :|

NBR GTKY: you could go on a city tour, a hiking trip, or a canoe trip. What do you prefer? I love hiking but only day hiking so if this trip would involve camping then I'm out. I am not a fan of canoes, so I would go with a city tour.

  • @sugargirl1019 the last few summers we've gone on a canoe day-trip with DH's family in a few canoes: 2-3 people in a canoe. They borrow the canoes and paddles and didn't quite have enough paddles last time we went, so I ended up sitting in the middle and being paddled around like a princess haha.

The first time we went, DH and I got burnt so bad we couldn't walk the next day and slept with wet towels covering our bodies (legs specifically). It meant we missed the hike planned for the next day which is the thing I was looking forward to the MOST out of the whole trip, so the next year I literally had a towel draped over me the whole time in the canoe and applied sunscreen like 5 times haha. I also made them schedule the hike for BEFORE the canoe trip so I wasn't at risk of missing it again

  • How are things going with you?

Good, after a small scare from anatomy scan, the doctors verified yesterday baby girls origins are in the correct location. So other than that everything has been going well!

    Questions?

Not really, if any STM have a suggestion on exclusively pumping I'd like to hear, but I know it's been discussed on the breastfeeding board.

pregnancy GTKY: any crazy pregnancy dreams happening? (Baby related or not!)

I feel like I don't sleep long enough periods to actually dream at this stage.  We are getting DS sleeping in his own bed in his own room so I spent sometime checking on him and also going pee about every hour at this point.

NBR GTKY: you could go on a city tour, a hiking trip, or a canoe trip. What do you prefer?

    City no doubt!

  • @Sugargirl1019 Just wait until your milk comes in!  When my DH was being a total asshat, or just because, I would whip my boob out and shoot him in the face with milk.  Karma is coming your DH's way!   :p

How are things going with you?  Great!  I finally gained a couple pounds over the last few weeks.  I LOVE being able to finally eat again, and actually enjoy it.  I feel good, everything went well at my 24w appt on Monday.  I have the regular GD test in a month (as opposed to the early 16w one I had already), so it's time to start cutting back on my sweet tooth again.   :/

Questions?  Any other STM+ dealing with worse pubic symphysis pain this time around?  I had it with DS towards the end, but it's been coming and going a lot lately.  I noticed a few weeks ago it got worse after kettlebell squats with my trainer, so I took the weight down quite a bit at last night's session, but I'm still sore today (not as bad as last session, though).

Also, is anyone else on an aspirin regimen?  I'm supposed to start taking baby aspirin, as I had a higher BP towards the end of my first pregnancy.

pregnancy GTKY: any crazy pregnancy dreams happening? (Baby related or not!)  I've had some vivid ones in the last few weeks, although I can't remember any of them at the moment.

NBR GTKY: you could go on a city tour, a hiking trip, or a canoe trip. What do you prefer?   Hiking and kayak trip!!  Although, my hips probably wouldn't forgive me for a long hiking trip right now.  We're planning a kayak trip this weekend if the weather holds up and the river isn't too high.  :-D

  • How are things going with you? Good.  Still adjusting to my body.  I really like feeling kicks.  It is very reassuring.

Questions? I feel like once I got past the first trimester my constant check on "what is baby doing today" kinda stopped.  The weeks are flying by, whereas they used to drag.  Anyone else?

pregnancy GTKY: any crazy pregnancy dreams happening? (Baby related or not!) A week or two ago I had my first breastfeeding dream.  It was strange!

NBR GTKY: you could go on a city tour, a hiking trip, or a canoe trip. What do you prefer? I agree with @Sugargirl1019 if I can have a parasol, I'd choose canoe.

  • @Cats*in*space Definitely feels like it's flying by now.  I think it's partly because the m/s is finallyyyyyy gone, and partly because I have a toddler to chase around when what I'd really love to do is be relaxing, haha.  Now that I can feel the baby kicking all the time, it's more reassuring and makes me worry less, too.  Although, I do wish he would stop kicking my cervix already.  That shit hurts.

  • @ColoradoHiker OMG I just snort laughed at your comment about shooting YH with breast milk.  Too funny!!  :D

How are things going with you? Overall, doing good.  Just the last few days though, sleeping has become an issue.  Sleeping on my sides makes my arm fall asleep, which then causes me to sleep on my back while I regain feeling in my arm/the pain goes away before I switch to the other side.  My arms actually hurt to the touch today.  With 14 weeks or so to go, I'm worried that eventually, sleep will become more and more difficult.  Ugh.

    Questions?  Nope

pregnancy GTKY: any crazy pregnancy dreams happening? (Baby related or not!)  Oh man, in the first trimester I had some really really crazy, vivid dreams.  Especially being someone who didn't dream much before pregnancy, this was a huge surprise.  I've since gone back to no dreams (that I remember at least).

NBR GTKY: you could go on a city tour, a hiking trip, or a canoe trip. What do you prefer?
Hiking trip! I love being in nature...as long as it's not too hot!

  • How are things going with you? I have a cold which is less than fun usually but extra not fun with out cold meds due to pregnancy. But otherwise pretty good.

Trying to figure out balancing all my different moving work parts this summer..usually I am pretty fired up and don't mind covering where needed but so far I am just tired and not as motivated. :(

    Questions?

What are you guys picking out (maybe a variety of things due to size options) for baby to wear home from hospital (or in photos taken at the hospital if that is your thing)?
If any of you have dogs are you doing anything special to prep them for baby?
Any fun summer plans that you want to do before baby comes?
I might have asked this before but how long are you taking off for maternity leave? Is your DH taking time and if so how much?

pregnancy GTKY: any crazy pregnancy dreams happening? (Baby related or not!)

None recently with the cold but some crazy ones before the cold hit. Though not sure how being it seems like I get no sleep with peeing a billion times each night.

NBR GTKY: you could go on a city tour, a hiking trip, or a canoe trip. What do you prefer?

City Tour maybe? Does it mostly include eating...cause I am all about eating. :)

@ColoradoHiker I'm on a baby aspirin! I have been since the BFP for MTHFR. But when I went to see my MFM, she looked over my meds and said "Oh good you're already on an aspirin."

@BecauseLove 1) I haven't quite decided on a take home outfit 2)For the dogs I'll just have DH bring a blanket from baby home before we come home. That way they can sniff and get used to her. 3) I'm praying I have enough PTO stuff to get 12 weeks.

  • @ColoradoHiker I'm also on baby aspirin since I have high blood pressure. OB wanted me to start it near the end of my first tri. I've been on blood pressure meds for years.

@BecauseLove We are team green, so we plan on getting two different sized, gender neutral outfits for baby.

We're not really doing anything special for the dog right now, but we'll prob have my parents bring one of baby's blankets over from the hospital and let her smell it before baby comes home.

I'm hoping to take 12 weeks off, although half will be unpaid. DH will use 2 weeks of vacation time.

How are things going with you? Pretty good! Ready for a long weekend with family coming in town for my cousin's high school graduation party. Starting to feel stressed about getting things done though. We want to take baby classes through the hospital, but our schedules make it difficult.

    Questions?

pregnancy GTKY: any crazy pregnancy dreams happening? (Baby related or not!) Lots of weird dreams. This week alone, I had a dream that I was taken hostage and cut with a knife, another that I was in a relationship with a co-worker (not sexual, thank god!) and another where I was in the hospital, and they brought the baby up out of my stomach and let me peek into the sack and see them, then they closed it back up and put baby back inside. The baby was fully grown and all cleaned off and beautiful, so it was weird.

NBR GTKY: you could go on a city tour, a hiking trip, or a canoe trip. What do you prefer? City tour!

    @BecauseLove
    1) I think I am going to wait and see what we get at the baby shower. We are team green as well so probably won't get many clothes (thankfully!). I also thought about using the onesie that I used for our announcement picture but I can't for the life of me remember where I put it.
    2) I'm very worried about my dogs. They are "special" to say the least. But I plan on walking my female with the stroller several times as soon as I get one. (Not even attempting to walk with my male and the baby.) I will probably have my mom bring home a blanket from the hospital. I've even thought about starting to walk around with a baby doll and laying them in a bassinet, pack n play, etc to get them somewhat used to it. It is going to be a very slow transition with them.
    3) Unfortunately I will probably only be taking 6 weeks off. I was hoping for 8 but STD will only cover 6 and my PTO has to be used before I take STD and I'll have 6 weeks of PTO as well. So anything after 6 will be unpaid and I don't think we can afford for me not to work. DH is taking off a week. He said he might take more but I told him a week is good. :)

    1)  Not sure yet.  It would be fun to bring home DS2 in the same outfit as DS1, but it will more than likely be significantly warmer in early Sep than it was in mid-Nov, so.. I don't know yet!  We'll bring a newborn and 3m size, since u/s estimates for weight in the 3rd tri can be pretty inaccurate.
    2) No dogs, but since our cats are already used to DS1, I'm not expecting many issues.  They pretty much either snuggled in the lower portion of the PnP, or completely avoided DS1.
    3) We're going to make a trip to a beach in Delaware in late July.  My parents are taking DS on vacation with them (they switch off watching him with my in-laws), since we won't be taking any big vacations this summer.  We will have two weeks without DS, and I'm a little mixed on whether I'm excited or sad.  A bit of both, I think.
    4) I'm aiming for 10-12w, but it really depends on how much money we save up before he's born.  It was going to be much shorter, before the STD insurance appeal was approved last week.  DH will take whatever vacation/ sick leave he has, so probably less than a week.

@Sugargirl1019  and @MrsVP614   I was asking about the aspirin because I've rarely taken it before (and probably should have asked my midwife last week, but.. I forgot).  Can you take Tylenol at the same time as aspirin?  My midwife told me to start taking it early in the first tri, but most of the research online I saw said to wait until the end of first tri.  And then.. I keep forgetting to buy it (I'm sensing a theme in forgetfulness here..).  I don't normally have high BP, but I gained a lot of water weight with DS in the beginning of third tri, and my BP would start skyrocketing when I walked across campus to my appts (140s/ 90s range), then it would calm down again after sitting for a bit.  Combined with painfully swollen fingers and ankles, they had some concerns, although thankfully I never had protein in my urine, etc.

  • @ColoradoHiker I think with such a low dose of aspirin, it's fine... but of course it's always smart to double check with your doc.

@MrsVP614 Absolutely.  Google says yes, I'm just lazy and haven't called them yet, tbh.  I'm not planning on starting the aspirin until I actually get confirmation from my CNM, ETA: since I'm already taking Tylenol pretty regularly for the pelvic pain.

    1)  I don't have a particular outfit picked out but we'll probably take a NB outfit and a 3-month outfit to the hospital.
    2)  We have a 65 pound pitbull so we started working on some behavioral stuff pretty early.  Normally, he's allowed to jump on the couch whenever he wants but we started limiting it to only when I allow him up, so that he doesn't just jump up when I'm holding the baby in the early days.  He was initially afraid of the stroller so we would randomly walk around the house with it so he could get used to the sounds and smells.  We also plan on starting to leave out baby toys and not letting him play with them so that he knows which toys are off limits -- we'll see how well this one works out haha.  Like PP have already said, we will also be bringing home a blanket from the hospital.
    3)  We're going away for a long weekend in the end of June for our babymoon.  Either Lake George or Crystal Springs Resort in NJ.
    4)  I'm super fortunate to have 16 weeks paid maternity leave.  DH doesn't have paternity leave but he was allowed to group all his vacation days so that he can take almost a full month off after the baby's born.

  • @cats*in*space yup, first tri was like waiting for a kettle to boil. Second tri is going a lot faster! I have also had BFing dreams.

no pets here, I didn't even really think about all that would entail!

swedens parental leave is amazing and standardized (employers can add on perks, benefits, and percentages, but they can't take away or make something invalid by offering something else :s )
