I had been lurking the boards for 9 months while waiting for my new job to start and to qualify for FMLA. **TW**And I happened to be a SS 1/1er, so it was probably good I didn't jump in at first. What brought you to join the TTGP community on TB? I think I was just googling one day before we started trying and found The Bump. I was playing around and found TTGP and decided to set up an account. It took me a little while to get started but I’m so glad I found it!
Does anyone IRL know you are TTC? If so, who? No one knows officially. After my surgery, my mom was at a follow up appointment with me and the nurse mentioned my PNVs. I told mom we were planning on trying soon but didn’t give any official date (at that point I didn’t know either because I needed to follow up with my gyno).
Do you remember if you intro'd in the right place? I did. I’m very nervous about doing things the wrong way. I was scared to get flamed! LOL

Does anyone IRL know you are TTC? If so, who? I have told two of my friends. DH has told a few people AND MY AUNT (without my permission!).
Do you remember if you intro'd in the right place? Oh yeah, you know it. Because I had an account with TK, I though that automatically translated into having a TB account and lurked for almost two weeks before I decided I wanted to join in. That was when I realized that I did not have a TB account and had to wait an additional 72 hours! It felt like forever at the time because I was in my first ever TWW.

Does anyone IRL know you are TTC? If so, who? Parents, ILs, my sister and BIL. I only told one friend who was very sweet. I'm trying to find a way to tell my other friend soon.
Do you remember if you intro'd in the right place? I did! But I was an obnoxious Knottie123709870234 (whoops!) I quickly fixed that though. The trick? After you change it at TK, you have to log out and back in on TB for the change to take.
How long have you been contributing to TTGP? I lurked in November 2016 and officially joined/intro'd December 2016, so 6 months at this point.
Who was the first TTGP bumpie to make an impression on you? @ChefRamsay was so kind to me in my intro and was the first bumpie I knew I wanted to be friends with. Unfortunately/fortunately, she graduated a short time later! @BusinessWife was another member I remember feeling like "Ooo, she's legit and important around here."

What brought you to join the TTGP community on TB? I had used TK for some of the organizational tools when we were planning our wedding in 2015. I never participated on the boards there, but I did occasionally lurk. Once DH and I got closer to actually TTC I started lurking TB for a bit, but was too afraid to actually participate. I had gone into this process having a pretty good idea that it would not be a quick or easy journey, and at that time no one IRL knew that we were trying, so by cycle 3 I finally built up the courage to jump in here, and I am so glad that I did
Does anyone IRL know you are TTC? If so, who? We have a couple friends who now know, which was mostly the result of me providing snarky responses to the ever so lovely "What are you guys waiting for???" comments. I also just recently opening up to my mother and my aunt about what has been going on. They both had fertility struggles of their own, and have always been pretty open about it, so it felt good to be able to let it all out IRL to people who have been there.
Do you remember if you intro'd in the right place? Yes!! I intro'd shortly after they made the change to the weekly newbie threads, so I totally remember waiting for a new thread to be posted so I could do it right
How long have you been contributing to TTGP? I think I first intro'd back in either late July or early Aug, so about 9/10 months.
Who was the first TTGP bumpie to make an impression on you? This is actually pretty tough to answer. If I have to go with "the first" it would probably be a tie between @adirat and @antoto. I just feel that I learned so much from the two of them when I had first started. But there have been so many more along the way! It is really hard to imagine having to make it through this process without everyone I have encountered here.

Does anyone IRL know you are TTC? If so, who? Yes. My mom, my best friend, our 6 friends from law school, my work best friend.... My mom's sister, my mom's best friend. (TW) I did not tell anyone when we got pregnant in Sept, but I did tell them all when we MCed. I was not particularly upset about the MC, but my husband was distraught (like, went into one of the partner's office who he is terrified of and through sobs requested a few days off because I'd miscarried - oh so I guess that partner knows too?). We've been married for a while, and sometimes people make jokes about, "Oh, you're drinking, you must not be pregnant!" which I think are funny, and typically DH would find funny too, but he was so upset about the MC I wanted to make sure no one made those jokes around him for a while. I also promised myself before we started this journey that I would be really open and upfront with anyone in my life about any struggles we faced. They all know we stopped trying after the MC, and that we'd start trying again in May after our Amsterdam trip.

Who was the first TTGP bumpie to make an impression on you? I think @BusinessWife? Mostly because I so immediately felt that she is Lauren Conrad lol. Also her username is super easy to remember which makes her more memorable for newbs, IMO.
My best friend IRL was on TTGP for both of her pregnancies and recommended that I start lurking back in September/August. Then in December I finally decided to into because I thought I would start TTC in Feb. However, after starting my new job I learned that the FMLA benefits wouldn't kick in as quickly as I thought so I ended up having to avoid until this last cycle.

Almost all of my closest friends, one co-worker, and some family know we are trying or planning to try soon. I have a big mouth. I still don't feel like I have a lot of people to talk to about my anxieties though because all my friends with kids got KU immediately (like 1/1 or "oops") and then all my other friends aren't at that place in their life yet.

I felt very welcomed by @lulu1180 and I'm sad we are on almost completely opposite schedules for our cycle!
I had used The Knot for my wedding so when I started getting babies on the brain I came to TB. The BOTB board was completely dead so I started lurking TTGP instead. I only actually made an account when there was a drama thread. H kept pushing back our TTC start date so I ended up being here for a really long time before I even started TTC. I feel like I just over explained this.

What brought you to join the TTGP community on TB? I was googling during my first TWW two years ago and stumbled on a post on TB about when to test. I lurked for more than a year before signing up for an account. After first reading posts on places like BBC and twoweekwait.com, I remember initally thinking TB ladies were harsh, but then I realized the BBC/tww ladies were nuts. TB ladies were real and smart and truly my people. I decided to get an account and participate after having learned so much because those who taught me were moving on to BMBs and I wanted to continue their legacy by spreading knowledge and not glitter farts.
Does anyone IRL know you are TTC? If so, who? Pretty much everyone I talk to on a regular basis knows. I'm not putting it on FB or anything, but if you've had dinner or drinks with me in the past two years, you know we're trying and likely about the IVF too.

What brought you to join the TTGP community on TB? I was on another forums while wedding planning (not TK) and they had a super secret FB group for those TTC that I joined but it was people in all stages of their TTC journey and some who already had their LO so it was difficult for me to not be able to filter out the posts I didn't want to see from those already KU. So, I was talking to a coworker in my new department and she told me about TB and how she made so many amazing friends from her BMB when she had her son. So I lurked, made an account, lurked for another week and then jumped in and I haven't looked back since! Oh and I left that FB group soon after I joined here.
Does anyone IRL know you are TTC? If so, who? Pretty much the entire world. I was pretty open about the fact that I wanted to TTC right after we got married due to my age because I was convinced I was going to get KTFU fairly quickly. The upside to this is that I have also opened up to some people about some of my struggles and it helps to have someone to vent to.
Do you remember if you intro'd in the right place? Absolutely! I was terrified I would make a mistake and post something wrong and get flamed! I almost made my own post because I didn't think it would fit in any other place but realized after lurking that I was an idiot and I was also wrong.

I was doing BSC SS one of my first few months and on Google a lot. Of course, a bunch of stuff came up from Baby Center, and I kind of felt "ew" with the way they talked on there. When I lurked here at first I was like "OMG so mean!" but then I got it. I liked how you could see different people's stories throughout the threads and that it didn't feel like everyone was a stranger. I rooted for certain people while lurking before really even making an account. None of my IRL friends are TTC so it felt very lonely before coming here.
Does anyone IRL know you are TTC? If so, who?
Probably too many. All my family pretty much. Didn't know we'd have a problem or I wouldn't have told as many. My parents had IF so felt OK to share with them (though I don't think I told my dad until we were close to the year mark). I told my close girl friends. I regret telling ILs because now it's been over a year and they probably have figured out we are going into treatment but we don't share that with them (MIL has no grandkids yet so she is anxious AF for us to have kids which is sorta cool but a lot annoying).
Do you remember if you intro'd in the right place? I definitely did intro in the right place, twice (re-intro'd after my 5 month bump break).
How long have you been contributing to TTGP? I joined in June 2016 and started posting regularly in September. Took a break in November (depressed) and came back this past March once I had my first RE appointment.
Who was the first TTGP bumpie to make an impression on you? @BusinessWife, @lulu1180, @adirat, and @antoto all made an impression when I was lurking and when I first started posting. I definitely got into some of their situations as a lurker, which felt weird because I, like, knew them and they did not know me at all!

Do you remember if you intro'd in the right place? DEFINITELY NOT. But people were mostly nice. It was sort of a "Am I pregnant" post except I think I was more questioning if something was wrong (because I am a Debbie downer and even that early I didn't assume I was KU). I basically said "Hey I am super late when I am never, ever late and I have all BFN's. Is something wrong with me?" and everyone basically was like "chill, dude." While I was waiting for replies I lurked around and then I saw the giant "READ THIS FIRST" so I read it and then went back to my original thread and apologized. Luckily I figured it out before anyone said anything, so no one flamed me since I figured it out on my own.

Do you remember if you intro'd in the right place? Sadly, I didn't. Although the week I intro'd about three other people had made separate intro threads so I thought that was the thing. Also, nobody had started the actual intro thread for the week yet. Once I realized where my intro should go I posted it in the right place.

I was on TK when planning our wedding and briefly looked at the nest after we married. When we decided to start TTC I knew I would need some support and I was looking for something based in reality. I lurked for a few months and knew this was the place for me. Fierce support. I like to see it when women really stand together.

We have been trying for about 16 months now *TW - we experienced a miscarriage in February and had just shared the news with some before it happened so I am sure there are some who expect us to be trying but they do not realize it took us over a year last time. - End TW* Our parents and a few friends know we are actively trying.

Do you remember if you intro'd in the right place? Thankfully, yes! I avoided the wrath a dear diary post would have created. I know I posted incorrectly in the WTO or TWW forum the first time, since I was still trying to learn the acronyms, but everyone was gentle!

Who was the first TTGP bumpie to make an impression on you? I could tell that @antoto and @adirat were boss ladies from the beginning. Once I got DH's diagnosis, @BusinessWife was the best, since our situations are similar.

I think probably just going BSC and googling around stupid shit. I liked the format of this community.

Thank you everyone for your kind words. It truly warms my heart to see that I have been able to help anyone here because I do consider this space sacred and precious. TTC can simultaneously be the most joyful/exciting and the most depressing/draining experience of our lives. This community has helped me as I go through quite literally the worst thing that has ever happened to me, and thinking I could give back even a fraction of that -- I'm so glad.

Who was the first TTGP bumpie to make an impression on you? Honestly, there are so many- when I started the board was pretty active, and many of them have moved on. Standouts are @NYTino24, @lulu1180, @heatherdubrow, @antoto and @adirat (and that's just a short list! There are so many more!). I just always felt like I could trust what they said, and they were coming from a good (and occasionally snarky) place.

Definitely @saralee797-2 - I saw someone getting flamed for slipping in a reference to a BFP (but was so new, didn't really see the reference), so I asked her by PM what was happening because I didn't want to make a mistake and offend anyone. She was so sweet and took the time to explain what was happening, and was all around very welcoming
Does anyone IRL know you are TTC? If so, who? I think most people that I talk to on a regular basis know. I haven't really talked about any specifics with anyone expect one friend that struggled with IF. Most of my friends give the typical "just relax" advice because they were 1/1's. I *think* my parents and my ILs know, but they never really ask. I am pretty sure my sister is trying because she vaguely mentioned it a few moths ago and I know my SIL has been trying for awhile.

When I first joined TB everything was very different. If you were a newbie you made your own thread for a intro, things are a lot more organized now. I made sure I lurked for a while first because I didn't want to get flamed.
How long have you been contributing to TTGP?
It will be 2 years in June. I took a couple months of a break in the spring/summer of 2016 after my father in law passed away. It was a very hard time for us, out of state family were living with us and DH was not in the right emotional state to TTC. when he was ready I came right back here and we picked up right where we left off.
Who was the first TTGP bumpie to make an impression on you?
unfortunately everyone who made a first impression on me is long gone but I still try to creep on some in the BMBs to see how they are doing. I will say though that even though it's not a first impression that there are many women here that have been such a huge support that I really do consider friends. Also shout of to the IF ladies, I'm so sad that the group has grown like it has but I so value the closeness of the group and all of you and your understanding

I honestly love you guys. Even those of you I may not know as well yet... I've said it before - sometimes its hard for me to ttgp these days, maybe it's getting easier lately with the possibility of treatment approaching - a light at the end of a long dark tunnel... I certainly didn't know what I was getting myself into when i joined, and thank heavens I did! Bc you have all become such a bright spot in this oft-murky ttgp journey, and some of you pretty much literally saved my life when we got our dx. @linzrunz @PepperAT I'm looking at my squad! And my troop!!! When that came down, I really wondered if my life was actually over, as pathetic as that may sound to some, I know others of you will totally get it, too.
Some days you may really wonder how you will go on anymore. ...And then you open up TB and see women who <i>absolutely</i> keep on keeping on, each and every day, @WitandWhimsy ((hugs)) ...trudging through some pretty tough stuff. @leekat14 @laurad75 @PurpleRains And ykw? We're still TTA for another few months, but this time around we're only letting our parents know.

Way back when, we had individual intro threads, so that's what I did. And then I reintroduced myself on the initial weekly thread with everyone else.
How long have you been contributing to TTGP?
ETA: Since August of 2015. Unfortunately, I'm not as active as I used to be. When we went back to TTA I kind of stuck with the weekly thread and randoms and occasional others. Lately, I've been lurking and love titting more than participating for my own mental health. I fully plan to start participating where I'm able again, though.

Do you remember if you intro'd in the right place? I didn't. I just kind of gave a short spurt when I jumped into a WTO because I'm not really into intro threads. That works out well since you don't do that here.
How long have you been contributing to TTGP? This time around, I just started this month of May.
Who was the first TTGP bumpie to make an impression on you? Uh, I don't know...I'm still getting to know everyone. My first impression of the board was everyone was very nice and not combative or bitchy.
We weren't telling anyone and I felt like I needed to talk to others that were going through TTC.

Only a handful of people...now that we are missing a lot of work for appointments more people have learned about our struggles.

Now it's all of my IF ladies that keep me going day after day. I never thought I would make it through injections at home but they were there every step of the way. After a hellish week I can't thank you all enough for the mentions and PM's. You've really helped me to pull my head from my ass and be ready to try again.

*TW* I was on TB before when I was KU, and for a bit after I had DD, under another SN. I became IRL friends with some ladies from my BMB and really enjoyed the community from that. After our LOs got a little older, a lot of those ladies didn't really keep in touch much. I decided to use a new SN for this TTC journey since some of those ladies (none of whom are currently on TTGP, but who still lurk around TB) would recognize my old one. I'm really private and didn't want anyone IRL to know we were trying to TTC again at all. *TW* I really enjoy giving support to, being silly with, and following the journeys of other ladies who are in the same or similar boat as I.
