Sunscreen name?

Sorry ladies, I know we discussed this already but I need to buy sunscreen tomorrow before we take off for the long weekend and I cannot remeber the brands we discussed or the few names that came up. Anyone care to refresh my memory? I think there was one chemical you are supposed to avoid?

    Look for one that uses zinc oxide as the active ingredient. Lots of good ones out there!

    I think the important thing is to get a physical sunscreen rather than a chemical one. Usually if you get a baby sunscreen they are physical.

    Are we supposed to avoid some sunscreens. I missed that thread. #3 and still learning.

    @am+mommy it's just that the natural sunscreens are considered safer because the chemical sunscreens are hormone disrupters.

    @am+mommy some people choose to. Most importantly is to wear sunscreen and protect yourself from the sun. I tend to wear a zinc sunscreen just because I have such sensitive skin.

    I always just use banana boat because DD1 feels like her skin is burning when she uses anything else. It's all I keep in the house now since I know she has no issues with it.

    I am just using a baby sunscreen. Though I do need to find something for my face.

    During our journey to conceive throughout this pregnancy I have been trying to go as paraben free as possible. I found a budget friendly brand at the store the other day call No AD. It was around $10 I believe.

    My pediatrician recommended NO AD brand sunscreen for DD1 from at like 3 or 6 months. We live in FL so sunscreen is a must and DD practically lives outside. She has had no reactions to it and it works well. I figure if it is good enough for tiny her, it should be good enough for me too.

    I bought CeraVe face sunscreen and Neutrogena Sensitive Skin Broad Spectrum Sunscreen off Amazon. They both have titanium dioxide and zinc oxide. I'm sure you can find lower SPFs, I just always go crazy. I tan very easily so since I'm never worried about being able to get color, I go hard on the fighting skin cancer bit.

    @DuchessOfCambridge you will love the Neutrogena! That is what we use. My daughter has sensitive skin and it is the only thing she can use on her face! We live on the coast and spend most of our time outdoors. I have seen a huge difference in the past two years that we have used this as our primary sunscreen!

    Beauty counter has a non-nano zinc oxide sunscreen (chemical blocker-free) that doesn't go on white and is pretty good. It's pricy though. I think I'm going to buy their stick version for my kids.

    @jess0211 also using baby sunscreen. Just simpler
     Aveeno baby has the face sticks which I'm obsessed with because life is easier when you're not rubbing liquid into your face

    Babyganics is what I've been using. I started getting melasma on my face while on BCP and I'm getting it near my hairline now in pregnancy. Gotta definitely wear sunscreen and use bronzer to make up for how white I am.
    It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*

    @bcashaw I wasn't a fan of the Aveeno baby stick but I think that's because I'm darker skinned (I'm fairly tan and get darker in the summer) and it was SO hard for me to rub in, it looked pretty ridiculous. Probably works better for more fair-skinned people! I haven't tried my CeraVe face sunscreen yet but I'm hoping it won't be anything crazy since it seemed to be advertised almost as a moisturizer.

    @DuchessOfCambridge I could see that sometimes it leaves me a bit streaky. I just find the sticks too convenient

    Babyganics definitely would be hard to conceal with darker skin. It leaves a bit of um, haze, or something.

    @NYTino24 good to know! I don't usually have issues with sunscreen not blending but I think with the baby stick it was because it's a solid not a liquid, harder to rub in. Or maybe baby sunscreen in general leaves a bit of a white layer. I didn't look stark white but my face did not match my neck. Like I used the wrong color foundation or something.

    I have allergies to dairy and gluten (ingested and topical), and a very strong sensitivity to metals. So no aluminum or zinc. I am also the palest person I know, burn very easily, and never ran. Baby sunscreen used to be my go to until all the allergy issues. Now I use Aesop Avail Body Lotion with SPH 50.  It is light, goes on smooth and sheer, works, smells amazing (thanks spearmint!), and is allergen free. I use it daily as any face moisturizer, and on my body whenever I go out. At $41 a bottle it is a little pricier, but one bottle lasts me all year with daily use.
