If you think the Aidan/-aden names sound common for boys, then Hayden will sound just as common, regardless the sex of your child.

Completely this, also any Hayden I've ever known has been boy....

I mean I know a lot of Hayden's for girls too. Basically in all my kids classes they have a few Aiden style kids and sometimes it's girl Hayden and boy Hayden when they are referring to them.

We personally prefer unisex names or even names that may be traditionally considered boy name for girls - i.e. Dylan, Devyn, Cameron etc.  Honestly, the whole "aiden" thing didn't even occur to us until someone else casually mentioned it.  I guess because I know there aren't many girls with "aiden" names, it didn't even cross my mind which is why I was asking for opinions - basically to see if it was the same for others out of curiosity.

I guess I think of Hayden Panetierre so I can see it on a girl.

The aden names are common for boys and girls. That's the problem to me. They're just so overdone for both sexes. I wouldn't use any for either sex.
