This is a thread where anyone can feel free to request a chart stalk, second-guess FF's interpretation, or post TTC-related questions, regardless of where in your cycle you are. Sometimes FF is wrong. That's where we come in. Get your second opinion here.

Re: Chart Stalk &amp; Questions Thread Week of 5/8

  • I started this because I didn't see one and I need help.

    *TMI warning*

I just got my CH this morning. Finally. But when I went to the bathroom it seems AF has decided to make her appearance early. I'm only 6dpo according to CM, BBT, and OPKs. But sure enough I woke with my typical headache, cramps, and lower back ache indicative of AF. So did I just have a crazy short LP and I'm back to CD1?

    Chart for reference

  • @pebbledam yes this is my first cycle off mirena.

@BusinessWife that's what I was afraid of. This is my first cycle trying/temping so I have no idea if I've had an annovulatory cycle before.

  • @mschanandlerbong1214 - First cycles are almost always wonky. I did O my first cycle off BC, but my LP was 8 days long (if I remember correctly). GL with a brand new cycle!

  • Guys, what's the deal with pineapple core vs just regular pineapple? Like, what's the ingredient in it that's supposed to help? (I know, I know, science, but like, theoretically.)
  • @mschanandlerbong1214 I'm on my 2nd cycle since getting my Mirena removed and during my first cycle I was 8 DPO when AF came back. Now that entire first cycle was super short for me (CD22) I wanted to mention that my LP was short too after the Mirena.

  • Totally random (probably newbish) question. Are hot baths a no-no when you're ovulating? I think I'm experiencing ovulation cramps, they aren't awful but a bath sure sounds nice... plus, selfishly I have a bath bomb I've been wanting to use.
  • Thanks @antoto! I was inclined to feel that way as well, but since they say hot baths aren't great at other times I just wanted to poll the hive mind.
  • Question, although let me preface it by saying that I know there is no real way of knowing, but just curious about feedback.

I missed temping/OPKs/CP/CM - pretty much everything - while we were camping last weekend. After the four days of temps I do have, FF is putting my CH at CD30. However, given that I usually have a fallback within the first 3 DPO, I'm thinking I actually O'd when I wasn't able to track. Any guesses?

Also, we are going camping again this weekend - I know it will go down to 5 degrees overnight, and may mess with my temperature (which in turn could mess with my CH). Do I take my thermometer and just see if I get something normal-ish, or do I just leave it at home and not worry about it?
  •  My temps are all over the place!  They normally stay in the 96's before O and spike to the 97's, but lately, they jump an entire degree and back every other day.  FF can't make sense of it either.  Last month FF removed my CHs at 14 DPO because they were so up and down and creating a "rocky mountain."  I don't know what to do to normalize them....

  • @Sailing_Mama - I think FF might be right but it's hard to tell because of those missing days. Looks like your timing was okay either way. I would take your temp on the next trip but before you temp, put it (in it's case) somewhere warm (like against your underarm and stomach to it's not super cold before you put it in your mouth (I assume that's where you temp).
@ladybugsamom - are you temping at the same time with 3 hours sleep and not moving much before taking it? Sometimes PCOS symptoms can cause rocky temps too.

Now my question, does anyone know anything about the Ovidrel trigger shot? I've been testing every day since I took it and I could clearly see it become more faint but now it's hard to tell if there's a line, an evap, or the trigger is still there. I'm 13dpo12dpo. TIA
  • @tryingfor1st I didn't test out the trigger, but if you can't tell unfortunately the only thing you can do is keep testing to see if the line starts to get darker. If it gets darker, it's not the trigger.

  • @Sailing_mama - Because of your fallback rise, I definitely think you could have O'd 2 days earlier than FF is suggesting.

I am on day 6 of flashing smileys on my CBAD. I like the CBAD because it gives me an idea of when to start using wondfos. However, I have never been able to get a peak on the CBAD even when I get positive wondfos. This cycle I got an almost positive wondfo on CD20, but now the test line is super faint. I've been able to turn wondfos before, so I don't know if I have ovulated or not. My temps aren't super predictable because I work nights, but I usually get dotted CHs. My question: should I keep peeing on things? If so, just the wondfos or both?

  • @pebbledam - I say keep using the wondfos. My Clearblue fertility monitor (which I think is a fancy version of the CBAD) never gave me a peak reading (although I used it once a day in the mornings according to the instructions) but my temps made FF give me CH. Might be a fluke with the CBAD.

  • @tryingfor1styes I take my temp at the same time every morning and make sure the room temp is the same. I also don't move around except to reach over and grab the thermometer from the nightstand. I try to keep everything as similar as possible but my temps are still a bit wonky.

  • @ladybugsmum some ladies will switch to temping vaginally if its too much a problem.  I always just dealt with it.  For me my temps were usually rockier coming off AF, then wpuld smooth out and dive down getting closer to O, and then whatever post-O pattern.  So it never interfered with giving my CH, I guess is what Im gettingvat. Lol but if FF is havibg trouble detecting O, maybe worth a shot?

@pebbledam what does the cbadv pack say, 7 days or something? I can't remember.  But I think it does mention on there if you get flashing smiley for X number of days with no peak, that you may not get a peak that cycle.  I only had that happen once tho when I had my shg.  I say, give it one more shot in the AM, (if you feel like it,) but definitely keep up with the wondfos.

Er - I re-read and saw you said you never get a peak with those... hrm...  well looks like you could be getting close tho, if it didn't already happen.  I say, "<b>HIO!!!" </b>plus keep peeing on things!!!  And keep checking CM!  You may not turn a wondfo, but if you see the shift, and CM changes to less-fertile too, then that oughtta tell you just fine ;)
  • @BusinessWife - If HIO were easy for us, we would, but we have a delayed ejaculation issue that really puts a damper on our sex life when we have a specific place his stuff's gotta go. My CM is basically non-existent at this point, but this happened last cycle and I stopped testing and then we missed FW. I know I need to keep using the wonfos, but I truly do get tired of peeing on things.

  • Right, yeah I remember that too from your wto post the other day :/  I don't think you're alone with that stuff tho <b>At. All.  </b>There are ladies here who have to find ways to work with their partners <i>SOME</i>how, despite performance issue for all sorts of reasons, from purely phiosiological ones, to combatting the effects of antidepressants and other medications that can make climax difficult etc.  Hang in there @pebbledam in a perfect world this whole thing would be so much easier, ammiright? (((hugs))) In the end, you just gotta do what you can (physically/emotionally too), and hope you've got some swimmers in the ring, so to speak. That's all anybody <i>can</i> do.... ❤
  • @BusinessWife yes definitely worth a shot! Thank for you reminding me that was an option!
