Re: Saturday Ticker Change - April 29th

  • 1. How many weeks are you? 11 weeks today :)

    2. How are you feeling? Still very nauseous, basically zofran-dependent to live.  My headaches are still pretty bad, although today I am just rocking the migraine aura - I feel fuzzy and confused and have bright flashing lights every time I close my eyes - but not too much headache pain yet.  I'm having a LOT of back pain, like, the kind of back pain I had late in the 3rd tri with my son.  I'm kind of dreading the coming weeks and months.

    3. Any appointments this week? I'm having my NIPT bloodwork drawn Monday afternoon.

    4. Rants, raves, questions? Get it together, apps, on how big my baby is.  The Bump claims it's a lime.  Ovia claims it's a brussels sprout.  Is Ovia buying wildly irradiated brussels sprouts?  Did The Bump accidentally buy key limes?

    5. GTKY: What is one thing you will never do again? At this precise moment in time, I'd have to say "get pregnant" - I'm seriously done.  I forgot how miserable this was, and I say this as someone who struggled desperately (and paid big bucks to an RE) to get pregnant.  My body is just done with this.

  • 1. How many weeks are you?
    11 weeks! Lime/Brussels sprout/bee hummingbird

    2. How are you feeling?
Cant complain really, some aches and pains and nausea but nothing major

    3. Any appointments this week?
Yes! Finally 12 week appt and ultrasound this Thursday

    4. Rants, raves, questions?
Told another of my bffs last night. She was sad about something and it totally distracted her for the whole night because she was so excited :)

    5. GTKY: What is one thing you will never do again?
Travel for a long time without DH. I went to Morocco without him for 16 days and I didn't have nearly as much fun as I would have had if he was there. I missed him for most of it and it just wasn't great. Does that's make me lame? Don't care, love DH <3

  • @DuchessOfCambridge yes, I am lurking. Your post reminded me of an article I read
that said I shouldn't tell people about my pregnancy when they are going through a bad time. Because of this I almost didn't tell my bff when I did.  She later told me she was so thankful for the positive news because it "saved her" and brought her joy in a dark time.  I suspect your friens feels the same. I think the article was misleading. So glad she was excited for you.

  • Good moooooooorning, ladies!

    1. How many weeks are you?
    11 weeks

    2. How are you feeling?
Good!  Last night is the first night I've skipped unisom, and I still just have the same underlying minimal nausea that I have even when I take it.  Hope it continues that way!

    3. Any appointments this week?
    Nope.

    4. Rants, raves, questions?
Rave:  We started a YMCA membership in the last couple weeks and I am LOVING it.  I never thought I would be "that mom," but the 2 hours per day of childcare is amazing.  I have a spirited 4 year old, and the structure and time away has been helpful for him.  My 2.5 year old loves it, and my 14 month old hasn't cried at drop-off the last two days, which is extraordinary!  Every morning I think, 'Do I really want to work out today?' and by 7:30 am I'm like, "Let's try to get there right when they open at 8, guys!" I would be ever so grateful if this pregnancy continues to go smoothly and I can continue exercise throughout the entire pregnancy.  I genuinely don't think I would have been able to do this in the first or third trimesters of ANY of my other pregnancies, so it just feels like a huge blessing to feel good enough to work out! TL;DR: I LOVE the YMCA!

    5. GTKY: What is one thing you will never do again?
I don't think I'll ever fly in a 4 seater airplane again - scariest experience of my life.

@DuchessOfCambridge 16 days is really long time.  Honestly, by day 2 of a weekend girls getaway I'm ready to get home to my husband.  I just like him more than everybody else.   :#
@pawcall So sorry your symptoms are so rough.  Hope it starts looking up for you.  :/

    11 weeks.

    2. How are you feeling?
    Nauseous and my back hurts.

    3. Any appointments this week?
    Nope

    4. Rants, raves, questions?
Ready to feel better. And I have no idea why I'm stuck in a box.

    5. GTKY: What is one thing you will never do again?
Help. Lol. I just got bit really bad by attempting to help someone. Like $400 bad. So I guess I've learned a lesson and will keep to myself for awhile.

  • 1. How many weeks are you?  11 weeks (EDD 11/18)

    2. How are you feeling?
    First day without MS halle-freaking-lujah

    3. Any appointments this week?
    Nope

    4. Rants, raves, questions?
Dying to get to the point where we are ready to tell everyone

    5. GTKY: What is one thing you will never do again?
Own 2 cats and 2 dogs at the same time again, I love my furry babies but holy cow does it make our life crazy.

  • 1. How many weeks are you?
    13.
    2. How are you feeling?
I was so good before and then yesterday I was terribly ill and today I was okay all morning but just got sick and am now feeling really crappy
    3. Any appointments this week?
On Monday I see my midwife and get my results from my genetic tests. Wednesday I have a counselling session (I've been in trauma therapy for about a year) and Thursday our foster child has shots (does that count?)
    4. Rants, raves, questions?
I'm really tired of feeling like a shitty parent I have not been as present for my step kids since I got pregnant, and the whole situation with our foster child is so complicated and it keeps getting more complicated which takes up a lot of my emotional energy. I'm just so tired of not being what they're used to me being.
    5. GTKY: What is one thing you will never do again?
work in a bar. It was great because I was young and had fun and that's how I met DH but by the end of my barlife I was drinking way too much, using drugs too often, and my sleep schedule was so messed up.
I'm not saying everyone who works in bars is like this, but for me that's the reality of it.

@pawcall I'm so sorry you're still feeling so shitty. :(  and I totally agree with the apps. What size am I ? I always choose the biggest and just go with that
@DuchessOfCambridge  I get you with the travelling thing, when we started dating I went to Australia and South east Asia for 5 months without him. It was brutal and I would never do more than a few days now
@MississippiCatfish I totally agree with you about the gym. I LOVE the gym but don't go unless there are classes... my 1.5 yr old also loves the workers in the childcare and it's soooo nice to get a break and get some exercise.
@Asivec I feel like there's a story behind the helping for 400$ and I'm intrigued.
@KLink15 I announced to my whole family at 11 weeks and a few days. I just couldn't keep it in.

    1. How many weeks are you?

    11 weeks !!

    2. How are you feeling?

I have been feeling better still a bit of nausea and feel tired still.

    3. Any appointments this week?

I go for my first ultra sound on Friday!!!

    4. Rants, raves, questions?

Rant: I am not looking forward to drinking 3 cups of water an hour before my ultra sound and not being allowed to  go to the washroom. Knowing that I get to see the little bean will have to get me through the hour.

    5. GTKY: What is one thing you will never do again?

Buy a house 3 days before Christmas .... between packing/unpacking and trying to see all the family it was just way to busy. If I ever buy another house it won't be any where near the holiday season.
  • 1. How many weeks are you?

10 weeks!! Double digits, finally!! I feel so much more at ease now that I've reached double digits!

    2. How are you feeling?

I'm feeling so much better! Not as nauseous as I have been but the fatigue is still there. I could seriously sleep 20 hours a day and it still wouldn't be enough.

    3. Any appointments this week?

None this week. I see the specialist on May 11th due to my AMA.

    4. Rants, raves, questions?

Rant- we recently moved to the suburbs of Philly for DH's job after spending my entire life in Upstate NY. I was working remotely from home when we moved here and continued to do so until March. Because of that, I haven't been able to meet anyone. It really stinks and gets boring. I sometimes get down when I'm scrolling through FB or IG and I see all my friends back home getting together. I'm beginning to feel very home sick.

5.GTKY: What is the one thing you will never do again?

I will never fly again without being heavily medicated. I am terrified of flying! We went to St. Lucia for our honeymoon a few years ago. I had my medication all ready to take so I could fly. Two weeks before we got married I found out I was pregnant with DS, so I couldn't take the medication! I was all set to cancel the trip but I knew DH would be devastated. I decided to suck it up and take the trip despite my paralyzing fear of flying. It was the most terrifying experience I have ever been through. I was so scared of not only being on the plane, but also of putting all that stress on the baby. Thank goodness DS was fine and our flight arrived at each destination without incident.

  • On mobile and I don't know how to quote the questions...

    1.  11 weeks today!

    2.  Feeling pretty good today. Excited to be getting closer to the second tri. *

*tw* today is my loss milestone so I'm also happy to finally get past this day!

    3. No appointments this week. I have regular OB on May 11 and then NT screening on May 15 (have to go to a different office for that one).

    4. Rant: insurance. I've had some surprise charges already which makes me nervous!  I've never had to worry about anything other than normal doctor visit co-pays before, and so I don't really understand the ins and outs of insurance coverage. It had been a (very annoying) learning curve for sure.

    5.  I will never work retail again. I hope.

  • @jess0211 she wasn't going through anything awful just something sad. She and her H had adopted a puppy and realized he had social isolation/separation anxiety to the point where they knew he wouldn't be happy with them in a city where one of them couldn't be home all day, so they had to give him back to the shelter. She said she needed distractions this weekend so I provided her with one :) but I agree, for those close to you, this can be really amazing news. She's very excited that I'm "providing a baby to play with" lol.

  • 1. How many weeks are you?
10, I thought I was a week farther but at my appointment a couple weeks ago my Dr moved it back a week since my cycles are around 35 days normally
    2. How are you feeling?
Better with the second pregnancy than my first! but have plenty of heartburn/Ms (thank goodness for unisom and b6), exhausted, and moody. But this time I knew what I was getting myself into and I am just so dang grateful that this baby is doing ok, and I've been doing fine at work, only had to take one sick day so I am feeling pretty good about everything :) also my toddler is actually Helpful most of the time now which rocks!
    3. Any appointments this week?
    Not this week!
    4. Rants, raves, questions?
I can only button one pair of pants, already using the hairband trick on all the others, and at night the one I Can button even gets a little too tight. Anybody have any favorite places to buy longer shirts so I can cover the fact that none of my pants fit??
    5. GTKY: What is one thing you will never do again?
I feel like I can never really say never, I thought I'd never go back to school since I have a degree already and it was so hard to finish with a baby, but here I am going back to school and having another baby that I will deliver during the semester. Though I might really never have another baby during school after this next one ;)

    1. How many weeks are you?
    10!!!!!
    2. How are you feeling?
Better but still nauseous with some vomiting.
    3. Any appointments this week?
Friday!!!!!! I have my first actual appt
    4. Rants, raves, questions?
Rave: I finally ate meat today!!!! First time in 2 months! And it was a big juicy burger! With all these aversions and MS I haven't been able to even attempt and today I ate the whole thing! It hurt but it stayed down.
Rant: I had to buy my first set of maternity clothes. I got 3 shirts and 2 pairs of shorts. It's so hot here already and nothing fits right so it makes me even hotter.
    5. GTKY: What is one thing you will never do again?
probably drink...I stopped a few years ago and learned just about 2 years ago that I'm allergic so I really don't think I'll ever be on the mom drinks wine bandwagon
  • @bannaners have you tried the Be Band? It's what I'm using right now. It's a little annoying but it's getting me through, especially because I now have to wear one of my work pants that was fitted perfectly to me pre pregnancy fully unzipped.

  • @bananers I am all about shopping at Target and last time I was there they had quite a few longer, flowy (but still flattering) shirts. I've also worn maternity pants a few times and you can't really tell. So much more comfy!

  • 1. How many weeks are you?
    12
    2. How are you feeling?
Feeling pretty good - still super bloated and constipated.
    3. Any appointments this week?
Yes  - I have my second ultrasound on Thursday.
    4. Rants, raves, questions?
Raves - have been able to start working out again a little bit which is making me feel like myself again.
    5. GTKY: What is one thing you will never do again?
Work weekends.  I put myself through college waiting tables and worked every weekend and holiday.  Now that I have been in the corporate world for so long, I don't think I could ever go back to that.

  • @DuchessOfCambridge thanks for reminding me of those! I have one of those from my first I used for awhile since I wanted to put off buying maternity as long as possible. I just need to go through all my baby storage and find the maternity clothes.

@liz4382 thanks for the suggestion! I will have to go try out target, it's been forever since I shopped there last!
  • @kissthesky32 it is a great city! DH and I try to explore the city and it's surroundings as much as we can.
@cwalker042 @kissthesky32 - I'm outside Philly too, I work in king of Prussia and work a bit further into the burbs   :)

I just got some great deals on maternity shirts and tanks at J.C. Penney online for super cheap. Not having more kids so don't want to pay $$$ for a maternity wardrobe. I think the shirts with side ruching are so flattering to the ridiculous bump that appeared out of nowhere this week. I gave in and started wearing full panel jeans this weekend. They make the bump look bigger ( :#) but make me feel soooo much better.

    2. How are you feeling?
Feeling pretty good -definitely better than before but still very tired and waves of nausea
    3. Any appointments this week?
    No
    4. Rants, raves, questions?
Rant- I really miss working out and I know I should be doing it which makes me feel even more guilty but I just can't find the energy to do anything.
    5. GTKY: What is one thing you will never do again?

This is a hard one! I think most comments about working weekends/multiple jobs/retail etc, hit pretty close to home. During college and the immediate years after, I worked three jobs and I still look back on that and wonder 1. how the hell I did that, 2. how I managed to maintain my relationship, 3. when did I ever sleep?!

  • pawcallpawcall member
@abs1686 - I feel so guilty too that I'm not eating better or exercising more.  Just hold onto the knowledge that your baby is getting what it needs, and you do what you have to do to get through it.  It will get better!

@MissMonroe11 - YES, I worked at a pizza place in college every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night.  NEVER AGAIN.

@liz4382 - I work in insurance, if there's anything I can help explain, let me know!  And congrats on passing that milestone, it must have been a HUGE relief!
