  • 1) How many weeks are you?
    10! Cardinal tetra fish/prune/strawberry/lego man
    2) How are you feeling?
Mostly fine. Some annoying symptoms that I've had all along but they do reassure me so I can't really complain. Nausea/vomiting if I don't eat when I'm hungry. Heartburn started yesterday so that's nice.
    3) Any appointments or tests this week?
    Sadly no
    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
    I just can't wait for 13 weeks!
    5) GTKY – If you could live in any book, TV show or movie which would you pick and why?
Harry Potter is all I can think of right now but it's not right...basically just somewhere set in England because that's where I want to live. Maybe more like Downton Abbey but set in today's time haha.

  • 1) How many weeks are you?
    12 weeks !
    2) How are you feeling?
So good. I feel like I'm in the clear (which I know isn't nessicary true) but I had a healthy happy ultrasound yesterday and my step kids let me sleep in this morning so I'm in very good spirits
    3) Any appointments or tests this week?
I had genetic testing done yesterday so I guess I'm waiting on those results.
    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
This stupid baptism I have to go to tomorrow. We barely know these people and it's such a big deal anyways and my MIL and SIL have been absolutely terrible to my step daughter calling her fat and telling her that she will look ugly at the baptism unless she goes tanning and stuff so now she really doesn't want to go. But DH is convinced that we HAVE to go which is so frustrating.
    5) GTKY – If you could live in any book, TV show or movie which would you pick and why?
haha @DuchessOfCambridge  my first thought was also Harry Potter... but in reality I think I would like to live in like some trashy rom-com that's set in the beach where nothing bad ever happens

    1) How many weeks are you?
12! I can't believe it! In theory that's an apricot or half a hot dog but baby measured 2in at 11w3d so we may be a little bigger.
    2) How are you feeling?
Sadly not so hot. Woke up yesterday with sinus crud and can't decide if the constant nausea/lack of appetite/vomitting episode/headaches are from baby or actually being sick or a combo. The headaches started about three days ago and apparently that's a second tri thing but I've found them more annoying than any of my other symptoms so far. And I can't stand to fast or I get dizzy. Also my glutes and thighs are killing me...What's that about?
    3) Any appointments or tests this week?
    Nope.
    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
Dog sitting for a friend/co-worker. It was super last minute but the rat is standing at the door barking incessantly and not going out when I try to let her. Not helping the headaches. My pup on the other hand is being a darling and cuddling with me. I think she knows. DH is also wonderful and took DD grocery shopping so I could rest. I got the pantry and fridge cleaned and organized this morning so I'm feeling pretty good.
    5) GTKY – If you could live in any book, TV show or movie which would you pick and why?
Anne of Green Gables. Because PEI/cliffs and ocean and also the period and it's simplicity. And the clothes. I think it would be fun. For a while anyway.

  • 1) How many weeks are you?
    10 weeks
    2) How are you feeling?
For the most part, really well.  Just the occasional nausea.
    3) Any appointments or tests this week?
My first real appointment on Tuesday.
    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
We are contemplating a YMCA membership, currently doing a 5 day free trial.  This is the first time I've really tried to exercise while pregnant. I'm thinking about starting a "health and fitness check-in" thread to try to get some motivation/tips.  Have we had one yet? I can't remember.
    5) GTKY – If you could live in any book, TV show or movie which would you pick and why?
Maybe Friends.  They just seem like they have so much darn fun:)

    2) How are you feeling?
so happy today b/c my migraine finally went away last night. I've been sick in bed since Sunday afternoon so very thankful to feel good today.
    3) Any appointments or tests this week?
    No
    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
DH and DS went to see Monster Jam tonight (my son is obsessed) so mama gets a night to myself
    5) GTKY – If you could live in any book, TV show or movie which would you pick and why?
Probably Sex and The City -  mostly for the clothes and shoes.

  • 1) How many weeks are you?
    9
    2) How are you feeling?
Awful. I've had all day sickness since about 4 weeks. I still have zero energy and could sleep 24/7. I have massive bloating too. Then, I woke up this morning with a terrible sore throat, stuffy nose and sinus pain. Ugh...
    3) Any appointments or tests this week?
Second appt on Monday. Will be meeting with nurse coordinator to go over what to expect the next 7 months and get a referred to a specialist since I am high risk due to my age.
    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
    None
    5) GTKY – If you could live in any book, TV show or movie which would you pick and why?
The first movie that pops into my head is Forest Gump. The movie took place in so many different eras that I think it would neat to experience that.

  • 1) How many weeks are you?
    9!
    2) How are you feeling?
Not terrible. Nausea is still there and lots of aversions but I'm eating more than last week and mostly holding it down.
    3) Any appointments or tests this week?
    Nope
    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
We told family and close friends last week. It went so much better than I expected but am still terrified of a miscarriage. I had surgery on my uterus almost 6 years ago and was told I shouldn't have any issues but I might. This is our first so I'm a bit paranoid. I hate not knowing between appts and IDK when my next one will be (we're switching insurances so need to wait and see who's in our network) luckily I have all my symptoms (as much as I hate them) and no spotting or anything but cramps and such still creep me out. Please tell me I'm not alone!
    5) GTKY – If you could live in any book, TV show or movie which would you pick and why?
this is a tricky one....I do love Gilmore girls like @Asivec said and it'd be the most fun/safest lol! I love crime/true story books so those would not be fun to live in haha. But maybe any movie/show that took place on an island like Hawaii. I'd totally be OK with hanging out there all the time.
  • @kaitlinliz Have you thought of getting a home Doppler so you can check the heartbeat? I had a MC before my healthy pregnancy, and so that really helped. I only used it once a week just to minimize the sound waves baby was getting, but it really helped calm my fears.
  • 1) How many weeks are you? 10 weeks, and my 6yo (okay and also my 43 year old) are pretty psyched that baby's the size of a lego minifig.  Bigtime lego household over here.
    2) How are you feeling? So, so sick.  I spent almost the whole weekend in bed crying and throwing up.  I feel like a huge failure, because my 6yo needs me and I suck at being there for him right now.  So yesterday afternoon I was feeling a little bit better and i took him (and my barf bucket) to target to buy his love with toys.
    3) Any appointments or tests this week? I don't think so - for the first time since January.  Will be nice not to fork over $50!
    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?  Rant - because of my PCP being affiliated with a different hospital, I can't have ANY of my testing at my hospital.  I have to have it done at UPenn, and they ONLY do them downtown at their main hospital.  F that noise, this weekend I picked a new PCP at random and once that takes effect on 5/1, I can schedule my sequential screen at my actual hospital.  But now I probably need to go see my new rando primary.  I HATE HEALTHCARE.

Further rant - the maternity leave at my company is a sick joke.  First week unpaid or PTO, which is standard, but then you get 6 weeks STD (at 60% of your pay, capped at $750 unless you pay extra for buy-up which increases the cap to $1k per week) REGARDLESS of how you deliver.  They couldn't pony up the few cents per policy to give 8 weeks "paid-ish" for a c-section?  After that, anything else you take is unpaid unless you have more PTO.

I have no idea what this means for me.  I'm meeting with my work bestie who is currently out on maternity leave to talk through how it worked for her and then I guess I'll start the conversation with HR.  (My boss already knows i'm pregnant but told me to wait to tell HR, "you know, until 12 weeks in case of whatever..." - disgusting.)

So yeah I'm a little disgruntled at work.
    5) GTKY – If you could live in any book, TV show or movie which would you pick and why? This is hard!  Probably "House" so then some brilliant doctor could figure out how to help my son.

  • @pawcall your whole post made me so furious for you. I have so many opinions about everything but I'll just leave it at eff your company's maternity leave and wtf to your boss. Your pregnancy, you tell them whenever YOU are comfortable.

  • I'm so bitter right now, it's awful.  The best (worst?) part - I work in healthcare.  This is what we DO, and our benefits are so substandard.

  • Hopefully by the time our children are grown women will stop being punished for procreating.

  • My fiance will be getting more FULLY PAID paternity leave from his company than I get partially paid maternity from mine.

  • 1. 9 weeks

    2. I feel like maybe I've turned a corner? Don't want to jinx it but I've felt good for the last like 12 hours...lol. Or maybe my bar is just really low right now...

    3. First appointment tomorrow! I'm excited to see and hear the little nugget!

    4. Rave-we told my parents this weekend just because I've been feeling so awful I've cancelled a lot of plans with them and they were starting to get upset about it but they were just so excited and had so many positive and wonderful things to say. I am so happy we told them!

    5. This is a tough GTKY! I think maybe Brooklyn nine-nine just because it's so hilarious and I could use that kind of laughter.

  • 1) How many weeks are you?
    9 weeks!
    2) How are you feeling? I'm okay...super sore back and hamstrings today but that's my fault for overdoing it on the yard work yesterday. Still experiencing intermittent nausea, headaches, dizziness, constipation, fatigue.
    3) Any appointments or tests this week? First ultrasound this afternoon!!! Really excited and really nervous.
    4) Rants/Raves/Questions? I felt great all weekend, which was awesome, but of course once I had to go to work this morning, the dizziness and nausea kicked in. Really looking forward to consistently feeling normal again (and trying to accept the fact that that may be months from now).
    5) GTKY – If you could live in any book, TV show or movie which would you pick and why? I am blanking on this, probably bc I'm preoccupied by my appointment today...I'll come back if any brilliant ideas come to me!
