It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
Yesterday we had a little ceremony at work and I got a certificate and pin for hitting my 10 year anniversary with the institution. I am just proud I made it 10 years and have some semblance of sanity still.
@av2323 Now I'm celebrating the fact that the nearest doughnut shop is an hour away, because your post reminded me that I dreamed of doughnuts last night and now it's all I want. Save me from myself!

@kissthesky32 Don't forget the mint hot chocolate. I'll even drink that stuff in the summer!
I'm raising my trophy because I just remembered about the junk food stash I have waiting for me here at work. Andplusalso the kids have library today, so I will get at least 40 minutes of peace.

I found a daycare really close to our new apartment that is only dumb expensive instead of stupid expensive. Now Baby will not have to raise itself while we are at work! Once we move we'll tour and put our names on the waitlist which the woman on the phone said is pretty short! Phew.
I am celebrating surviving 8 flights (two of them transatlantic) with a toddler while in the first trimester and nauseas. We had a great time traveling but I am SO happy to be done with all air travel for the next two months!... And DD will finally be getting her own seat when we do travel next!
Appt #2 today! And boss just popped her head in the office and said they're ordering pizza for lunch! #taxdaysurvivalbribery

Now I want donuts. I will later give myself a trophy for not getting a donut.
Same.
I'm slowly reintroducing gluten to my diet and now I'm all OKAY, JUMPING STRAIGHT TO DONUTS. (Which would clearly be a really horrible idea. So trophy for me.)
I would like to celebrate my space heater. When I'm freezing in my office, which is always, it's there for me. I'd be frigid and much less productive at work without it.
@DuchessOfCambridge This douche I work with always comes by and says how "hot" it is at my desk and then tells me what the temperature is outside or asks what I will do in the summer. I'll probably use my damn heater as it's COLD INSIDE.
So excited!! **I am in the mortgage business** We received the clear to close on the MOST deserving people today. Obviously, I am not allowed to discriminate but when things work out for hard working people who do good in this crazy world it makes my job so worth all the headache of the crazy borrowers!!
I was able to get out of bed! And I cleaned a few things around the house. DH took off work yesterday and today to help me but tomorrow is my first day back on my own after being sick so I'm thankful he's been helping get the house back in order and care for the children so hopefully things will start running smoothly again.
My little one has some speech delays and we did the formal evaluation today to see if he needed to start therapy and he's made so much progress since they made the referral that we don't! we can continue to just work at home with him and not have to start formal therapy and that just makes me so proud for how hard he's trying to get his words out!
@abs1686 that's awesome! My little one qualified for speexh too, so it's starting soon. What was your experience like? How old was your lo when they started?
TeacherMama7, thankfully we don't have to start the therapy since he's making so much progress on his own! He'll be two 05/05 and we're going to give it another five-six months and reassess then but I'm confident he's just going to continue to blossom! I will admit, the whole evaluation was not nearly as bad as I expected it to be! They just played with him for a while and asked us a bunch of questions. Pretty easy overall! How old is your little one? I hope everything goes well! If you pick up any neat tricks from them working with yours, let me know!
He will be two June 5th. They said he didn't technically qualify but the speech therapist said she thought she had some tricks that could help him, so she overrided it and said we could qualify if I wanted. I was so happy! He's still not putting together two words and a lot of his words are just partial words. We haven't started it yet but when we do I'll share any good ideas!
That sounds just like where my little guy is at too. He's only just recently started trying two words together but I only know what he's trying to say because I'm mom, not because it's coherent! he also really struggles with the final consonant in words like, caT, hiKE, etc. So I'm excited to see all of that change! though I'm sure I'll just be asking him to stop talking soon enough!
@teachermama7. My DD didn't qualify with the state program Birth to three when she was younger, but while at preschool she ended up qualifying for speech therapy and luckily or elementary school is also doing speech therapy with her. She has gotten so much better with her speaking, spelling and reading. Two months ago she wasn't reading at goal and now she is being it and writes me letters all the time. So thankful for speech therapists. I needed one in kindergarten and first grade for my R's. I think starting her early has helped.
Lol. My daughter's speech made her say naughty words. I actually put on her preschool intake form that she does it so please don't punish her. She said "mom, I dropped my d*ck" instead of stick. "Look a b*tch" instead of fish we had some fun with her
DH said movers were going to cost us around $1000 (lol no, I will move everything myself for that price, pregnant or not) so I did my own research and found a company with great reviews quoting us around $250 (which is about what I was expecting). Pregnant wife ftw!
@MaximumEffort Yeah, I'm glad they took him in because I want to hear him talking more! It's too funny that she said naughty words on accident. I am glad she's doing better now!
Re: Trophy High Tuesday
i will hit my 10 year mark in August and have the same feelings re: sanity.
