Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, I'm still getting used to how this all works!
I'm just about 8 weeks and went to the er yesterday for bleeding. Baby has a heat beat but they discovered my progesterone levels are outrageously low. (5.9) so they put me on meds. I'm just so nervous and wondering if anyone else has been through this and did your levels go up?
There are a few of us on progesterone supplements. I am one of them and put on them for bleeding/ low progesterone. From my limited, non-doctor research it seems that progesterone will help keep a viable pregnancy.
I personally have not been retested for progesterone. Not sure if that is common or not.
Keep positive thoughts. Today you are pregnant. None of us know what will come tomorrow.
I took crinone from BFP to week 10. I had a short luteal phase and low progesterone prior to getting pregnant because of a genetic issue (my corpus luteum is always too small/insufficient). My progesterone was checked weekly by my RE and ranged from 18-20. But, I started at like 11 or something, so if you're starting lower you may not see it go that high. My RE likes to see progesterone at 15 or higher.
As @asivec said progesterone can help if you are low for a known reason but the complicating factor is sometimes low progesterone is caused when the pregnancy isn't viable. It's hard to tell unless you were already under an RE's care, so taking progesterone is a typical treatment. When are you next going in for an ultrasound to check on the fetus?
I suffer from low progesterone in each pregnancy. I had two miscarriages and after the second we did lots of testing to get answers only thing that was found was that I have low progesterone levels; they are always at 12 when they would like them closer to 20. Once I got pregnant for the third time they put me on progesterone suppositories until 12 weeks and I have a very healthy 15 month old. Progesterone helps baby stick and if your levels are low or drop it can cause you to miscarry. Now that I am pregnant again as soon as I found out I told them I wanted my levels tested and the medicine ordered again my levels were at 12 so I am currently on the progesterone suppositories again until 12 weeks then my body and placenta will take over production. I wish you luck with this route progesterone has done wonders for me allowing me to have a beautiful daughter and another baby on the way.
I have had low progesterone for all 3 of my pregnancies and put on suppositories each time. The progesterone helps build up your lining and gives your baby its nutrients until the placenta takes over around 13 weeks. My progesterone has always increased after taking the suppositories.

While going through IF treatments about a year ago I had a low progesterone issue (2 & 4). I never got pregnant during treatment but I remember my doc saying the lowest she'd ever seen successful was 5. I agree with PP. Stay positive for now and know you're doing everything you can. Fx and prayers!

Hopefully everything goes well! I was on progesterone for my first and things got much better for baby but then I was sooooo sick from the progesterone. FX all works out!
I was put on progesterone due to low levels and bleeding with my first pregnancy. I delivered a healthy, happy baby. Keep your hopes up and fingers crossed it goes well for you!
