Stats, if you care to share, starting weight, current weight and TTC goal weight: What is your diet and exercise game plan for this week/month? Do you have any mini goals you're looking forward to hitting? Anything to help motivate you? GTKY: Since we don't do FFFC - Give us a confession!
Stats,
if you care to share, starting weight, current weight and TTC goal weight: I'm definitely up a couple pounds! Oops! My eating has been really, really terrible.
What
is your diet and exercise game plan for this week/month? At my conference last week we were walking over 28,000 steps a day. The conference center was massive and my sessions,
inevitably, ended up being on opposite ends of the facility. I used Track My
Run (what I use for my runs) and calculated the sessions being about .65 miles
apart. We moved back in forth about 6 times a day. That doesn't even count all the extra walking we did. Unfortunately, since I've been sick I've
been completely wiped out and have moved as little as possible since Thursday.
My goal this week is to take it easy, let my body recover, and get in some light
elliptical sessions or walks.
Do you have any mini goals you're looking forward to hitting? Anything to
help motivate you? I want to get back into regular running. I was religiously
running at least 3, often 4, times a week. I burned out a little and was running
1-2 times a week but doing other stuff as well. I am going to work back up to
regularly getting in 3 runs even if I need to drop my distance.
GTKY: Since we don't do FFFC - Give us a confession! I earmarked the 1st trimester "what does a positive pregnancy test look like" post. I can't help it, I love looking at (non-gross) pregnancy tests! What is wrong with me?!
@notthefather I don't mind seeing pics, but sometimes the story behind the picture is the best part in my opinion!! There's rarely good stories on that specific thread though. I'll confess that I lurk on all the boards to see birth announcements and read the labor stories!!
I'll do my check-in tomorrow after I weight at work.
Stats, if you care to share, starting weight, current weight and TTC goal weight: Not great. So yesterday I was thinking ok - next week isn't so busy, I will eat better and get all my workouts in - It will be great! Then DH came home with a cake from the grocery store, my schedule filled up and there was junk in the teacher lounge today....yeah....
What is your diet and exercise game plan for this week/month? I am going to still try to get those workouts in! Also, I have GOT to get better at saying no to junk food.
Do you have any mini goals you're looking forward to hitting? Anything to help motivate you? I really wanted to lose a few pounds before TTC. My goal this week is to get my workouts in. Ideally 3 but I will settle for 2.
GTKY: Since we don't do FFFC - Give us a confession! Let me think on this...I had one the other day because I remember thinking too bad we don't do FFFC and now I don't remember what it is...I will come back and confess when I can think of something
@notthefather - no judgment here! I a dirty lurker I have looked at all of those tests on 1st tri. I also lurk on TTGP and I have been known to lurk a few BMBs.
Stats, if you care to share, starting weight, current weight and TTC goal weight: sw: 135 cw: IDK, I forgot to weigh this morning but I'm not expecting a change. gw: ultimately 125-128 But I'll be happy to get under 130.
What is your diet and exercise game plan for this week/month? Let's focus on this week. Don't go more than 2 days w/o working out. At least 2 runs (1 down tonight!) and some weight training. Do you have any mini goals you're looking forward to hitting? Anything to help motivate you? I would like to see any actual weight loss....blah! GTKY: Since we don't do FFFC - Give us a confession! My husband definitely doesn't know about my Bumping and I also really enjoy watching people's TTC/pregnancy journeys on YouTube. So obsessed!
Stats: Starting weight 165, current 162.8, goal 140 or less. Down from last weeks 164.4, not by much though.
What is your diet and exercise game plan for this week/month? Cut carbs and work out a couple times a week at least
Do you have any mini goals you're looking forward to hitting? Anything to help motivate you? DH is supposed to crack down on me and hold me more accountable on not eating out for lunch.
GTKY: Since we don't do FFFC - Give us a confession! I suck at these...lol
Stats, if you care to share, starting weight, current weight and TTC goal weight: Starting weight 155, current 150, goal 130 What is your diet and exercise game plan for this week/month? I'm doing my best to eat healthy (calorie counting really helps!) and exercise everyday (although some days only consist of a 30 minute walk with the dog!) Do you have any mini goals you're looking forward to hitting? Anything to help motivate you? I'm really looking forward to hitting my pre-pregnancy weight (138). I wasn't really that happy with my weight before pregnancy so I'm also looking forward to losing more and feeling great! GTKY: Since we don't do FFFC - Give us a confession! I am completely obsessed with the soundtrack for the live action Beauty and the Beast! I've listened to it at least once a day for the past 5 days and I may have also impulse ordered the CD from Amazon so I can jam in my car too!
Ugh, we've had a rough couple of days (DD has *another* severe double ear infection, which is the 4th in 5 months, so we had to see a specialist, she's looking at tube surgery, which I agree is best, but it stresses me out obviously, and I haven't slept in two nights because she's been in pain and not sleeping well) so I am SO out of the fitness game so far this week, hoping posting here will help me get back on track. DD seems to be feeling much better today (YAY) so I think things will be better for the rest of the way. Blah! Anyway: Stats, if you care to share, starting weight, current weight and TTC goal weight: I'm still not weighing in this week while I let the thyroid meds kick in, but I doubt I lost anything because it was our anniversary weekend, so we went to a nice family lunch and then got a sitter and went out for dinner and champagne. So...yeah.
What is your diet and exercise game plan for this week/month? This week, calorie counting (starting today), 3 at home strength days, 3 cardio days of some fashion (even if it's just a 30 min walk.) For April, I'm considering doing a Whole 30 thing.
Do you have any mini goals you're looking forward to hitting? Anything to help motivate you? I know this is next month, but I really, really, really want to lose 6-8 pounds in April. That is my big focus right now. GTKY: Since we don't do FFFC - Give us a confession! I am obviously so nervous for DD's surgery, but I am actually glad that our ENT wants to do it now rather than wait for her to get 2 more ear infections, because a.) she's been in AWFUL pain, which breaks my heart b.) I don't want her to be on antibiotics every month for 6 months, which is almost been the case for the last five, and c.) most importantly, she's been retaining a ton of fluid in her ears between ear infections and it's causing hearing loss and balance issues, which I believe are delaying her walking and speech a bit. (She walks and talks, but definitely has issues with her hearing and balance.) I am, of course, freaked out about the actual surgery, but I am looking forward to it being over and her feeling better, hearing better, etc.
@maureenmce - my oldest DS had tubes. I remember being a nervous wreck but I do not regret them for a second. He never got another ear infection after that. The surgery was really quick, and his ecovery was really easy. I think it was way harder on me than him lol
@glitzandglitter That's great to hear! How old was your little one when he had the surgery? I think part of my nerves have to do with the fact she's still so little (14 months on the 8th.) My husband, who had tubes as a kid, says it's better because she won't remember. I'm just worried re: general anesthesia, but I trust the surgeon (who actually did surgery on my neck a few years ago, weirdly!) and his team.
@maureenmce - It was a while ago (DS1 is 10 now) but I think he was about 15 months. He never remembered having it done and really didn't seem to be in pain afterwards.
@maureenmce: My daughter had tubes put in at 1.5. They didn't use real anesthesia for the procedure. She was just given laughing gas to relax her. It was really quick and she was totally normal within a few hours. My work BFF's 5 month old had tubes last week. They did put her under general but she also did really well. They said she was grumpy for the afternoon but was normal the next day. It's so stressful when it's your baby but it's pretty simple and painless.
My daughter was getting back to back ear infections and, due to allergies, is really limited on what antibiotics she can even take. She never ran a fever with them and hardly complained. Sometimes we found them purely on accident at well-checks.
Having gone through a double ear infection this week, I can safely say that the procedure is worth it for these poor babies. I can't imagine going through the pain and pressure and not understanding what is going on. It must be terrible
@maureenmce, I echo what everyone has said. My son got tubes a year ago this June (15 months old). I was super nervous about it, but he was only away from me 15-20 minutes max. He was a little disoriented when he came out and slept a long time that afternoon but the next day he was completely normal. It's been great! Stats, if you care to share, starting weight, current weight and TTC goal weight: Current: 146.8 Goal: 125 (prepregnancy)
What is your diet and exercise game plan for this week/month? I'm just getting back into diet and exercise so I'm starting slowly. My goal for this week is to eat well (avoid cheating, carbs, and coffee). I'm looking into what I want to do for workouts. I need something effective yet easy to stick to. Do you have any mini goals you're looking forward to hitting? Anything to help motivate you? My goal for this first month is no carbs, quit coffee, and drink more water. GTKY: Since we don't do FFFC - Give us a confession!
I can't of anything. I guess the Bump is my guilty pleasure right now.
@notthefather Yeah, I feel SO bad for her! She's fine during the day when she gets them, but at night the pressure is so intense she just screams and cries for hours and I can't do anything to help her. Anyway, needless to say, I'm looking forward to the surgery being over! Luckily, just spoke with the doc and he said it's gas, not general anesthesia, so that's awesome. Looks like it'll happen sometime mid April.
Thanks for the feedback, guys! Feeling much more at ease!
@JNCPro3130 - I have been trying tot figure out the working out thing too. I LOVE bodypump but my schedule has been so crazy I have had a hard time making the classes so I have just been trying out different workout videos on youtube
@maureenmce Oh my, I'm so sorry your LO has had so many ear infections and needs tubes!! My LO just got over her first ear infection and it broke my heart to see her in that much pain, so I can't even imagine what you've gone through!
So I haven't been checking in on the fitness threads because I have given up for now, until next week. Work has just been over the top busy and there's no way for me to fit in working out. Next week should slow down though and I'll get back to it.
As for a FFFC, I should totally be sleeping right now but I just need a moment to relax before bed. ETA: That was a boring confession. I totally also lurk other boards. And it's entertaining to read the posts that provoke a lot of drama.
Thanks @fishee333 it has been rough! But I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel now with the surgery scheduled.
In fitness news I'm so excited, we're getting a cheap elliptical for our apartment! I realized last night, after doing my at home strength training, that, with our current crazy schedule, I really need to have workout options at home, so we're ordering one this weekend. I cannot wait.
Also, posting here so I remember to calorie count - I keep forgetting and I don't lose weight when I forget!
Ok here is my FFFC - I gave major side eye to the post in the read, watch, craft thread. I don't think I would have cared if it was someone regular to our board but a random person posting all about her pregnancy on a board of women waiting to TTC just rubbed me the wrong way.

Yes that was the only thing I could think of that made sense too.
You guys, I used to lurk TTGP so much and now it is all I can do throughout the week to keep up with our posts here on BOTB! I love it!
Ditto! I still check over there, especially in the TWW post and the weekly grad post, but not nearly as much. I'm so glad that I have a place that actually reflects my situation.
