@LoveInDC  get the thigh tattoo, girl!!!  I wish I had the balls to do something big!

M/C: 9/10 (the double digits hurts)

    CD: CDmotherfucking1

    WAYDTGKU: not enough I guess.

R/R: I'm obviously in a mood today. I am not happy or hopeful to say the least.
I'm calling my OB today just to start a discussion about making sure nothing is wrong. Have any of you ladies done this? Did you just schedule a dr appt and just sit and talk to your doc?

    CS/Q: nada

GTKY: Let's talk tattoos! Do you have any? How many? Special meaning? Do you want any?
I have two. I was young when I got them so nothing to write home about.
I want to get another one on my wrist of my son's birthday in Roman numerals or just the first letter of his name

@LoveInDC Sorry about your temps, but yay for having some company today!

    M/C: 1/1 NTNP

    CD: 16

    WAYDTGKU: BBT, CM, PNV's, Vitex

R/R: I procrastinated a little too much, and now present me is definitely not happy with past me.

    CS/Q: Nope

GTKY: Let's talk tattoos! Do you have any? How many? Special meaning? Do you want any? I have 3 tattoos. One is a cricket on my wrist, becasue cricket was a nickname that I went by for years. I have a bird on my hip, and a tree with some fairies all down my side. I just got those becasue I wanted to, no special meaning.

@50Wife just saw that were on the same month/cycle. Hugs, friend. This TTC shit sucks. Regarding your question, my dr won't start testing until the year mark. That being said, I have HMO insurance so they tend to be more strict about things. It never hurts to ask! And if you're over 35, then I especially say go for it!

@Dilynne  I mean kittens are cute, but damn! That's just mean.

    M/C: 9/10

    CD: 13

WAYDTGKU: pnv, temping, opk, checking cm/cp

R/R: I'm really sick of this weather we have been having! One day it's 70, then next it's 40, and now they are taking about snow this weekend!  :/

CS/Q: I had a negative opk yesterday morning but a positive last night. I though O would be today, but my temp went up a lot last night. It's weird to me that I would have O'd yesterday, especially since my opk wasn't positive until the evening. Oh well, timing was fine either way.

GTKY: Let's talk tattoos! Do you have any? How many? Special meaning? Do you want any?
    nope.

@BertieMeetsGertie it sucks. And I have people saying "it just isn't the right time yet". Stop. Just shut the f up with that. Hopefully you'll get good news soon!
Thank you for the response. I'm not 35 yet but some of the fab ladies on this board recently told me they've read to bring it up after 6 months of good timing. I figure it won't hurt to at least have a chat and see if there's any concern or if I just have shit luck.

    @50Wife sorry about CD1 :frowning:

ETA: chances are high your OB is going to do 2 things: 1. Blood tests that will have be repeated at an REs office and 2. Offer clomid.

Deny both, go a head and schedule an RE app

@50Wife Sorry about CD 1! I am by no means an expert, and I am only speaking from personal experience, but if you have a reason to believe there might be a problem, I think they will begin looking at testing at 6 months of good timing. For example, my doctor told me that if it doesn't happen after 6 months, she would want to start testing because my cycles are so long/irregular. I'm sure it depends on your doctor somewhat though.

@50Wife Hugs for CD1! For my OB, we did what's called a "preconception" appointment. I did it because I needed to interview her, but if you need it to talk about TTC and future testing, go for it! (I wish I had the guts for that thigh piece. Sigh. Maybe some day.) ETA: If she wants to do any testing, save it for an RE. But if you just want to chat about what else you could be doing, if they see any warning signs in your history, or if they think you should see an RE sooner, that's what to call that appointment.

@Dilynne Oof. I hate when my phone is dead for the day. Bad kitty! I adore literary tattoos (duh) I'm sure yours will be a masterpiece :)

@Cricket648 Ugh. I hate when past-LoveInDC ruins it for present and future LoveInDC. That girl can be such a bitch. FX it all works out.

@BertieMeetsGertie I have a love hate relationship with this weather. Mostly love, but when I heard 70 today and snow on Friday? No bueno.

@cdnrunning FX we both get out of these hell cycles soon!

Really stupid to do drunk I know, but it is cute and the inner rebellious side of me is glad I did it. I would actually like to get another small one on my other foot, something running related (scripture, quote, etc..). Running has changed my life over the last 4 years and running a marathon was the best soul searching I've ever done.

I only suggest it because some RE's have 2 month or more wait for new patients.

@50wife, the other ladies have given great advice on seeing your OB before the year mark.  I have mixed feelings about the helpfulness of a preconception appt based purely on my anecdotal experience.  It might not be the worst idea of you have reasonable expectations going into it, but as @Everycol0rsaid, any testing done will almost certainly be redone by an RE if you get to that stage.  However, you can potentially get some helpful info and having some testing done more than once isn't the worst thing (an SA for example).

Without going to into my twisty series of MD appts, I had a meeting with my OB before what she considered the 1 yr mark. I only went in because a different MD (not in a reproductive speciality) raised concerns about my cycle variation and the length of time we had been TTC. I thought my OB appt raised some good points, but she also spent a large chunk of timing explaining the female cycle to me, most of which I already knew, so that was a waste, and because I had made my own assumptions about our core problem and she didn't push starting testing (remember, she didn't consider it a year) I sort of ignored some of her suggestions.  I wish I hadn't, but c'est la vie.

The downside of the appt is that she wrote off the 7 months we were ntnp and didn't count them toward the year, so we waited to go to the RE. When we finally got to the RE, she told us that had been a waste of time - no protection is no protection, how much effort you put into tracking is not relevant. I can't really blame her for that too much though, I was in denial about there being a problem - she just validated my decision to stick my head in the sand for a few more months.

After that novel, the bottom line is an RE is an RE and an OB is just not. Their jobs are different. Imo, talking to your OB if you think it will help you in some way, whether physically or mentally is fine, but otherwise it's sort of a waste.

Edit: I am having tag issues today.

R/R: Based on last month, I should be getting a flashy smiley face OPK right now, but I'm not getting anything. Hmm, I'll just keep testing.  I got such a. Good nights sleep last night and I am so ready to rock the EFF out of this Tuesday!  And my housekeepers are coming today not a moment too soon. Great day so far.

    CS/Q: I don't think so

GTKY: Let's talk tattoos! Do you have any? How many? Special meaning? Do you want any?
Ive got 2. One on my back - yes, the infamous tramp stamp. Is so ugly but I don't really care about getting it removed. Maybe the size of an apple - a cetacea of dolphins. The dolphins are all smoothed and lame. Such a great tattoo for 18 year old me though.
I love my second. I got it when my husband (then boyfriend) and I broke up for about 10 months in our twenties. I really wanted to symbolize being on my own and this new chapter in my life. It's on the underside of my forearm - a lotus flower. It has so much color and it's really lovely.  It was the first time I'd ever done something like that on my own (without friends or anything) and I'm so happy I did.  Haha and my then boyfriend and I were still kind of seeing each other and I remember he really loved it at the time too.

fyi - I am always mobile bumping, so please excuse typos, etc. I am so bad at typing on my phone.

Alsp, sorry to those who are having a rough WTO. and a special shout out to you guys who are TTA for various reasons. Post as little or as much as you want. Sometimes I have to take breaks myself  :)

Not even one. Not really my thing I guess.

@50Wife I have said before I wish I had started testing earlier. The process of testing itself takes a couple months for most. How useful your OB will be depends on how comfortable/ knowledgeable they are about IF but most can at least start some basic testing. Hopefully if they are not comfortable they will send you to an RE

    Yes to all this.

The level of care my uterus recieves is upgraded dramatically at my RE's office. And my RE says the same NTNP = valid.

A previous OB I shall never see again ordered my first HSG. It was the most traumatic and painful experience ever. So much so that when my RE re-ordered one 3 years later I practically cried in his office despite his assurances that the experience would be dramatically different. It was, because the 2nd round involved nurses/doctors who did multiple HSGs daily vs the radiologist department at the hospital that OB sent me to that probably did 1 weekly.

@LadyMillil waited 6+ months to get in to see an RE. It's not uncommon and depends how many are available in your area. My big city has an astronomical amount and I waited a little over a month. Smaller cities with one 1-2 doctors will wait longer.

@LoveInDC My fiance is also playing Zelda all day today, but he's being a spoil sport and bragging that he got the Master Sword before me. :s

@Dilynne I've been there, my cat used to get behind my bed and knock cords loose on her way through. I'd get to work and wonder why my phone was at 20%. :(

    M/C: 12 cycles, 7 TTCAL

    CD: 7

WAYDTGKU: PNV, BBT, OPK, preseed, avoiding caffeine

R/R: Today is the first Tuesday of the month so it's wing day in the office!

CS/Q: A week into this cycle, and it looks like my temps may be fluctuating normally this time. For at least two months FF was telling me they were too erratic. Hoping they stay normal.

GTKY: Let's talk tattoos! Do you have any? How many? Special meaning? Do you want any? I don't have any tattoos, but I have been considering getting one. I'd like to get one that is symbolic of being a Gemini and put it on my back or side. The only problem is I'm a wimp when it comes to pain, and I wonder if I could even sit still long enough for a tattoo like that.

@JJMNO1616 Bummer that you didn't like their counteroffer - did you feel like it was THE house or are you pretty comfortable with moving on? I get emotionally attached to houses so I'm not a healthy house hunter, lol.

@Rejufsovelem I am SO excited to see Moana. Disney Princesses are my jam and I've heard really good things.

@DeriveMyPi & @LoveInDC  You guys, I want to do Stitch Fix so badly. I have a whole pinterest board dedicated to it. Ugh. Money should grow on trees. LOL.

@50Wife So sorry for CD1. :( I was rooting for you. Hopefully you have success this cycle and the RE becomes moot. I hope you'll treat yourself to something a little special today.

    M/C: 3/2

    CD: 4

WAYDTGKU:The normal things. Trying evening primrose and preseed this cycle. Stupid EWCM.

R/R: Rant: I left my lunch at home and I'm hungry. Rave: Having a productive morning so far.

CS/Q: TMI: I used to have horrendous periods, which is actually why I started BC as a 17 year old. When I was 21 I had a blood clot and was switched from hormonal (estrogen) BC to mirena where I had NO period for almost 8 years. Now it seems that things are pretty mild -- 1 heavy day, 1 medium, 2 light.... Is that normal? It certainly wasn't my normal but I don't know if things get more manageable as you age.

GTKY: Let's talk tattoos! Do you have any? How many? Special meaning? Do you want any?
I have a little one on my foot because my bff and I were heading to separate states for college. I forget about it most of the time, but it does make me smile.

@safire3 good luck with your HSG today!

@50Wife when I hit the one year mark I made an appointment with my midwife. She did all the CD3 blood work, sent DH for a SA, and sent me for an HSG. Once we got all normal results back I decided to make an RE appointment because I felt the midwife couldn't do much more for us. The good thing in my case is that the midwife and RE are part of the same hospital system so they probably won't make me repeat anything other than the SA since they have access to my results in the same computer system and I actually had the HSG done at the Women's Center where the RE office is. However, when I called to make my RE appointment, the earliest I could get was 2 months out. So maybe make an RE appointment and in the meanwhile see your OB? Good luck!

    M/C: 15/15

    CD: 15

WAYDTGKU: bbt, pnv, OPK, evening primrose oil

R/R: got a good night's sleep last night and doing some shopping at Target today!

CS/Q: had positive OPK the past two days and a temp dip today so O should be today! I'm very happy with our timing if today is O.

GTKY: Let's talk tattoos! Do you have any? How many? Special meaning? Do you want any? Yes! I have a music note on my shoulder. I sang for years in high school, did choir and musicals and even took private lessons. I actually intended to go to college for music/theatre but I switched majors. I want to get a tattoo of my wedding date on my wrist and something for DD but I might wait until I'm done having kids and get one tattoo for all of them.

    R/R: n/a

CS/Q: This hasn't been a consistent cycle for my temping, but I think my "high" temp on CD 9 is what's throwing me off. I mean, it wasn't really high but I was super toasty and I think that's why it's making my chart look funky

GTKY: Let's talk tattoos! Do you have any? How many? Special meaning? Do you want any?
I don't have any, but I have 5 or 6 that I'd love to get. Probably never will though lol
lily and tulip- for me and my mom on left hip (like where a holster would lay)
m16 and wrench crossed- for my dad on right hip (same holster thing)
uv ink shooting stars- long story (left side ribs)
treble/bass clef heart- just because (top/side of left foot)
barred owl- used to work with them, they're amazing (not sure where on that one, maybe inside of right wrist?)

Thanks for all of the advice, ladies! I have an appointment with my OB on Tuesday. I'll see how that meeting is and obviously  go from there.
I have no problem taking matters into my own hands and making appointments if she's not helpful.
I figured an appointment for DH for a SA is a quick and easy test to at least rule that out or get working on it.

@CandyApple2012 It's the nicest house we have seen overall. It checks almost all of our must haves but there are still a few cons. We are just really early in the process (our current lease doesn't end until June). So we have time to see what else pops up. The obvious problem is not finding something we like more! But, that's a risk we feel comfortable taking if it means we don't end up over paying for a house. Especially because it's not "perfect".

    @Starla
By the way, you're not supposed to get new tattoos while TTC.

Ugh stuck in the box! You're absolutely right, you aren't supposed to get tattoo's while TTC. You know what's even worse? my former coworker who was 7-8 months pg, and very clearly showing, who got a tattoo. while pg.... wt-actual-f?! Who does that!
