@zetega Try not to worry too much! Most of my cousins were boys, and they were some of my best friends growing up. We still keep in touch as adults, and I just adore them, and their wives and kids. In my experience, boys and girls, especially those that aren't siblings, usually play really well together.
I had so many things planned to do today. I was going to adult well and be productive! But I've had a fun resurgence in morning sickness instead, so my to-do list will have to wait. Today, I'm binge watching Grace and Frankie, and eating applesauce and crackers.
The other day a song came on my Pandora from the musical Waitress called "Everything Changes". Sara Bareilles wrote the music for the musical so she has her own recording of the song too, but I personally like the one from the show better. Anyway, it's about the moment after you give birth and you officially become a mother. It had my heart bursting and I cried happy tears all the way to work after hearing it. Look it up and take a listen, it's really beautiful!

14 weeks, still queasy and no appetite. Yay. Plus my mom flew back home yesterday. Trying not to be horrible down, but I'm not looking forward to, probably, feeling miserable like this for the next 6 months or so.
We fly fly to CO for the weekend and while it will be nice to be back, it's going to suck packing, traveling, and having to leave. Plus, I've had zero motivation to get training runs in so I'm sad I'll probably have to walk some of the race on Saturday.
guys- i'm having a mini panic attack after browsing on BuyBuyBaby.
They have these car seats that are convertible thoughout life stages of child- which seems like a great idea. But then i was seeing that if you want to buy a stroller that will hold an infant (cause they're squishy and need extra support, right?), it has to also be a carseat? I"M SO CONFUSED. Clearly I'm the first of my group to have a child. I have no idea what I'm doing.
@jmn1985 Just face that you'll have to buy 2 carseats. One for infant stage, one for bigger kid, the kind that grows with them sitting upright. It's a lot of money, but it's the basics of what have to be done

@jmn1985 If you want to use a stroller from the get go, you will need one that you can put a bassinet in or an infant car seat. An infant car seat also has the advantage of being able to typically snap in or out of a base so you can carry the seat in and avoid waking the baby up. However, there are convertible seats that work from newborn on up, you just sacrifice the advantages of an infant car seat.

We thought about getting a convertible car seat we could use from infant up but it's SO NICE to be able to unclick the whole car seat and carry the sleeping baby in the car seat. So we decided to stick with DS' infant car seat for this baby as well.

This. I have accepted this fact, mourned the ridiculous amount of money they cost, and moved on, lol.
I just got a couple more maternity things at Walmart lol. I got two tank tops, one blue and white striped and one black, I got a pink and white striped shirt that says love on the front and I got two tank dresses, one pink and one gray and white! I really like them. They're my favorite Walmart maternity brand, great expectations. Here's a pic of my favorite tank.
Should we start a thread for maternity clothes? I like sharing the good deals and stuff I find with you guys, and where I'm finding stuff... maybe we could start a thread for it? Just an idea.
It really pisses me off that the same people who criticize me for wanting to break my 13 month old of her pacifier and say things like "she'll drop it when she's ready" also complain on my Facebook photos that I should "take that paci out of her mouth" to make a better picture.

You guys, Amal Clooney is smaller with twins than I am with one, and she's probably due sooner. This is less of a "now I feel bad about my body" thing, and more of a "where the crap is she keeping it all in her body?!" thing.
@daniellelynette that is really cute! I need some tank tops... I have several open front things I wear over tank tops at work. Since they aren't fitted, they'll be fine, but the tank tops will begin to be a problem. I think a maternity clothes thread would be great!
When DH has been gone the past 9wks and during sex when he gets to the boobies says... "well hello there"... Then tonight after washing my face and getting ready for bed he takes a moment to gently cup them and says "like seriously holy shit babe they got huge." And proceeds to gently lift and put them back multiple times as if he is trying to gauge their heft....while continuing to make remarks about their size

I was literally just thinking about this on the ride to work this morning. I would love love this thread!
Progenity is "re-running it". What the fuck??? It will take up to another week!! What does that mean??? Is there something wrong with the blood sample? Is there something wrong with the baby??

I just did some googling, the answers I saw were most often not enough DNA... but it's kind of shitty for them to wait so long to tell you..
Sorry to sound freaking out. I'm trying to be calm. Just a little.. concerned and pissed at the same time.
Oh don't worry I totally understand! You're allowed to freak out, I'm just trying to be positive for you Hopefully the re-run goes well and they don't need another sample!

I can't imagine it means something is wrong with the baby. They f'd up... but baby is fine! They may have dropped a vial of blood or something.
I agree with @HollyGolightly09 I doubt they are re running it for a positive genetics result they would just send it as is. It sounds more like they did something wrong with the first sample, but wow that is so frustrating
@Sugargirl1019 I'm sure someone at the lab just messed up. I have a cousin who used to work for a similar type of place, and she says that dropped vials or other human error in these kinds of blood tests is way more common than you'd think.
