@mschanandlerbong1214 I'm with you, only when I hear about people like the cast of Jersey Shore making millions and then I think of my dad, who has been working as a bus driver for decades (and part time as a custodian for the last five years) and still can't afford a nice vacation or a house. I'm, in general, not a reality TV fan (except cooking competitions- I could watch 'Worst Cooks in America' forever). My mom loves them, though. She got DH hooked on 'Don't Be Tardy'.
My UO is that I know the musical movies from the 1940s/50s were totally sexist/racist/pretty much every -ist known to man, but dammit, I love them. My favorite is 'Seven Brides for Seven Brothers,' in which the seven brothers kidnap the girls they like to coerce them to marry them. But they sang about it, so it's just wacky antics!

My UO might* be that we need to look at those movies and appreciate them for what they were at the time, despite being all the -ists, because, well, our country was pretty -ist back then! They reflect the time they were made and we can't ignore that; we must acknowledge our past to get to a better future.
*And I said "might" because I don't think that's actually an unpopular opinion.
Have you seen "Every Girl Should Be Married"? I watched it one day when I was home sick because the title alone was intriguing, and it was about this young girl trying to trap a doctor, who was twice her age, into marriage. It was absolutely the most sexist thing ever.

I completely agree!
Classic movies are a wonderful cultural and historical tool, too. You can learn a lot about period they were made, some of which is pretty enlightening. I love PreCode movies (1920s/1930s) because they completely upend what you think about in terms of the "morals" of the era. So many people sleeping around, etc. Or "The Best Years of Our Lives" (1946), which actually makes you reckon with what it was like to come back from WW2 when it was all said and done. Anyway, @jsnakehole, as a lover of classic movies (musical and otherwise) I applaud your love and hope you don't feel any guilt.
My UO *possible TW* is that I really like going on the BMBs particularly the most recent month and seeing the introductions. It makes me really happy to see all those BFPs for those ladies whether they got them right away or have been trying for a long time. Of course, I wish I was among them, but seeing how many there are gives me hope that it'll happen soon or at least, eventually.
@LoveInDC@50wife I'm with you both on this one! Love the Bachelor and RH! @jsnakehole, totally understand where you're coming from on that. What did make me feel better is learning the salaries of the Real Housewives. In OC, they make a decent yearly salary off it but it isn't obscene, I think I remember reading one of them made $80k per season. Definitely good money especially if you have another source of income but nowhere near Lauren Conrads $250k or however much she was making per EPISODE on the hills. I love her though!

I used to do that and feel like that, but after so many months seeing all the oops pregnancies gives me the sads. Don't turn into me!

@eggplantface I totally feel you on the oops babies, since it's only my 2nd cycle I'm sure I'm still a bit bright eyed and bushy tailed about it ha, but for now it relaxes me so whatever works, right?
@DuchessOfCambridge You're a better person than me. I've only technically had one cycle of trying and then two benched, and I still get so annoyed about oops babies.
My UO is that I refuse to buy expensive workout clothes. I won't go anywhere near a Lululemon.
I'll be honest, I loved Laguna Beach and The Hills but I don't watch reality TV anymore. I watched Real Housewives of The OC yeeears ago and I loved Vicki. I really dislike the Kardashian family in general.
@MJDsquared I know this is a very UO but I actually really like the Kardashian family. The Rob and Chyna thing is a little too much for me but I love following all the women in that family. I just love how close all of them are to each other and their individual stories/drama fascinates me.
@JJMNO1616 Both of my sisters-in-law looove them! One of them is like the most Kardashian-obsessed person I've ever met! And I love my SILs, so I totally don't judge anyone for their Kardashian love!
@MJDsquared@duchessofcambridge YES to not spending a ridiculous amount of money on clothes meant to take the brunt of my swamp ass. As cute as they are I am not spending over a hundred dollars on an athletic jacket or hoodie.
My UO (at least according to DH) is that I know more about some conditions than some doctors. For example, my OBs don't know much about blood disorders and therefore they didn't know what to have me do with my abnormal bloodwork from the hematologist. Conversely the hematologist couldn't tell me much about blood disorders in pregnancy.
I had to explain it to DH like this: just because a math teacher is a teacher doesn't mean she knows much about Operation Iraqi Freedom. You'd go to a history teacher for that, or if you personally were involved you'd know more about OIF than that math teacher. He still told me to be quiet and listen to them because I can't even predict when I might O. It's frustrating. Maybe it's more of a TP than a UO.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
Uhhh. Knowing stuff about health conditions has nothing to do with ability to predict O. Sure. Some people it is CD_ without fail. For most of us, O happens when our ovaries feel like it. Knowing stuff doesn't mean you suddenly have ultimate control over your ovaries. TP.

@NYTino24 Do we have the same DH? Mine has told me that I come off as to much if a know it all to my OB. **TW, previous pregnancy mentioned** What bothered him from what I said was that I was confident I didn't O until CD34, so I anticipated being 3 weeks behind from my LMP (early measurement was only 2 days off from that). Had I not known that they would have said I was miscarrying already (I did, but not until later)**end TW** I feel like offering any information I can provide to my OB to guide their diagnoses is important to them, and if they take it the wrong way, it's time to find a new OB. A lot of health problems would be diagnosed and treated much more effectively if patients knew what kind of information is important to share with their doctor.

@Kiki75 I know, and he's slowly understanding more, but he still doesn't get it!!! One thing I am going to discuss with the MFM is why I have ovulated as early as CD 14 and as late as CD 24 with LP even ranging from 10-15 days. I have always had unpredictable periods, but it didn't matter when I was a teenager and then BCP took care of it before TTC. @icecubeinthedesert Sounds like it!
